  • The Bill (2003) - Law and order has completely broken down in the Solomon Islands. Murders go unpunished and the government is being held to ransom by police gunmen.
    Subscribe to Journeyman here: czcams.com/users/subscription_c...
A virtual civil war erupted throughout the Solomon islands two years ago when militants from rival ethnic groups took up arms. In a peace deal, militants were made Special Constables but now their money has dried up and gangsters rule. The country is virtually bankrupt. Funded by EU money, a British Policeman has been brought in to restore order after the last Commissioner was murdered. A UN style administration has also been suggested to police and finance the nation for 10 years. The plan has support from the Governor-General: "I have read it and my position is that if that can happen then it's a way forward to assist the Solomon Islands." The failure of the government in the Solomon Islands has ramifications for the whole region. The worry is that terrorists could target this failed state to regroup and launch another attack in the region.

Journeyman, is it possible you could make a playlist of all your Solomon Islands documentaries for us, listed in chronological order of when they first aired? Just so that the timeline is a little clearer. I am really enjoying catching up on everything I missed after my parents migrated back to Australia when I was 11 in 2000. Thank you so much for what you've done. I hope to see more and more old documentaries I've missed from the 2010's and 90's pop up here as they become available.

They do a good job of dancing around the fact that this is obviously tied to capitalism and the money coming into the island from western countries and their corporations. They've decided to continue the british colonial playbook of funding one tribe (usually a minority) against another and profiting from the arrangement. This is what happens when gloval markets move into a traditional society and create a class society where one tribe gets all the jobs, like the protestants in Ireland. Same shit, different day, nothing changes with the legacy of the British empire, one of the biggest sources of suffering on earth. But they avoided focusing on that. It's just "crime," y'know the black people kind, not the kind our respectable western governments invest in...

      destruction has always been easy.
Its the 'creation' & 'rebuilding' that has always been exceptionally time consuming.
by keeping a particular community 'dumb down', it makes politicians easy to manage such communities. Afterall, no sheep herder would want to go through all the the trouble to herd a bunch of highly educated, sentient sheeps.

“Socialism, like the ancient ideas from which it springs, confuses the distinction between government and society. As a result of this, every time we object to a thing being done by government, the socialists conclude that we object to its being done at all. We disapprove of state education. Then the socialists say that we are opposed to any education. We object to a state religion. Then the socialists say that we want no religion at all. We object to a state-enforced equality. Then they say that we are against equality. And so on, and so on. It is as if the socialists were to accuse us of not wanting persons to eat because we do not want the state to raise grain.”

Keep loved ones and friends close. Be aware of your surrounding, listen to everyone and everything around you. Government wants your land, water and or air rights. I think it would benefit everyone if the people in charge ingrain, through education of new generations, pr, etc, into the solomon island's people's minds, that it was with australia's and new zealand's, etc. help that law, order, etc. has been restored. They have to make sure that there is a long lasting sense of some sort of gratitude...since it is known, that something that one is grateful for will be cherished more.
PS: it will also prevent some leftist(identitarians, cultural marxists, etc.) morons in nz, australia and the rest of the west from having much (if any) grounds from where to blame the "hwyuite" man for whatever they are currently triggered about, concerning the solomon islands, e.g. some unfounded neo colonialism bullshit.
