"You're just having fun on your bike; it's not a chore at all" - this is in my opinion the best advice. It highlights how a lot of skills can be learned just by going out and having fun on a bike. No pressure, it's just playing bikes! Like any skill or fitness goal, dedication is what counts. This advice goes a long way to fueling that dedication. Appreciate the video!

Some day, I'll actually practice, hah. I really dig the alternate ideas of things to do, it'll certainly help break up the repetitiveness of doing the same thing over and over.

I learned to manual this year. I would say the #1 tip is to practice, practice, practice. It took my 30+ days of consistent practice before I could manual consistently.

Nice..i have a dh mountain bike and large frame..very heavy frame and hard to get to the manual position..

I think my biggest problem is a consistent lift of my front wheel. Sometimes inches, sometimes feet.
I think the hardest part of this is that you just have to practice, practice, practice and... practice. I still can't manual for shit, but I got from 0 wheelies to being decent by just purposely putting a week worth of practicing into it. Nothing replaces seat time.
Loved the video, can you look at a budget hardtail I’ve been looking at, it’s the Trek Marlin 7. Another one worth looking at is the Diamondback Aztos 2 and 3 it’s a $1000 full squish.

I still can't do this on my 29er...26 and 27.5 are lot easier..
Could it be that my bike is the problem? I tried it on a bike a of Friend of mine and could bring the front wheel up to the balance point with ease. ( That bike is a bit smaller than mine. On my own bike however, i cant bring my wheel up high enough...
No the bike isn't the problem. You can manual with any bike, though some bikes may be easier than others.
