I like the little grunts of pleasure when he hits a pure shot. That's the feeling we're all looking for. I hit a shot yesterday on the range and in my mind said, "And that my friends is what we call pure." Granted, it was just once out of 45 balls, but it's nice to know I have it in me.
Nice, Jim! 💪💪

The fewer and farther between the pure shots are, the better. One in 45 is good. But imagine if you only experienced that pureness in you say once in every 450 balls. Then what? Well, it'd be like only being allowed to have sex once a year vs say every day. And well, there in lie the pure essence of the pureness. Hope that makes sense. Less is more. And there in lay the golfer's paradox of pure madness.
😂 garbage
@@quantumpotential7639 dude??? Get outta here.
@@SagutoGolf you over sold it brother. Way too much.
Jack was all about the Xtra crispy buckets!
Nicklaus is left eye dominant so that’s way more natural as his left eye is the only one needed to see the ball, same as Tiger, Rory, Ben hogan, they actually say that 85% of tour players are cross dominant.
For 2 years i couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong even 5 teachers didn't notice it. I started my downswing by shifting towards target and pulling club straight down. 3 weeks ago i realized you rotate back then rotate back down to where you started. I finally figured it out. Now i just need to get consistent at hiring the ball. I was rotation shifting and pulling down now I'm just rotating. It feels so good to fought it out
Nice job figuring it out, Jason!

This man is somehow simultaneously in 1993 and 2023.
That's probably because the physics and geometry of the swing system I teach are timeless..... 😎
something about his outfit takes me back to playing PGA Tour Golf on Sega ..
I think the exact comment by Jack was in his mind he said to himself , "Keep your head still dumbass" 😂
I wouldn't doubt that, Daniel, but he did need to come up with a version of it that was fit for public consumption..... 😆
TS
Becoming a Suguto convert here. Less variables is what I need, partly coz I’m not naturally good at ball sports so timing is not something I find natural. Slowly but surely my scores are dropping thanks to this ‘weight forward from the start of the backswing’ system.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Neal, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction is resonating well with you!!
Thanks so much for sharing your improvement and keep up the great work!! 💪💪

I love your swing. I recall Jack saying he had almost no weight on his left foot as he coiled back...then he would transfer to the left on the downswing.
Thanks Steven - I appreciate that.
And your paraphrasing of Mr. Nicklaus is rather interesting since here was his quote on weight shift: "I don't believe in a lateral shift," says Nicklaus. "Of course not. I believe in staying on the ball." Asked what he thinks about teachers who advocate a weight shift, he answers, "They don't know how to play." Now, there is certainly an allowance for a transfer of “pressure” into the trail side. After all, we are moving the mass of the arms and club back and around us during the takeaway and backswing. Some like to sense the dynamic pressure shifts; others prefer the feel of a gradual increasing of weight load into the lead leg from the start. However, in either scenario the key here is that we do not allow our mass - and thereby our swing center and low point - to drift back at any point.
While there are certainly videos on my channel that address this topic, a better option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ It's a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the instruction style that has thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

Tom: I wish I could time warp you back to about 1980 so you could come with me to the Muirfield Village practice tee. Watching Jack Nicklaus in his prime was mind-blowing. He hit 1-iron shots 250 yards in the air with the trajectory of a 7-iron.
I'm certain it was a beautiful thing to watch, John!
Jack's golf teacher when he was young, held onto his hair.
Number 1 fault of weekend golfers is wanting to see where their ball goes, and start to lift their heads before they even hit the ball.
Great practice tip is to put a small piece of paper under your ball, and want to see it there after you hit the ball.
Yep. Good stuff, Mark!
(Though I will say that with many amateurs the lifting of the head is a result of an improper move earlier in the swing sequence and not a cause unto itself.)
TS
Yeah that's my big mistake also. I am too eager to see where the ball goes as if I wouldnt if I just let it happen naturally. I think its one of my main reasons of bad shots.
I wouldn’t say it’s WANTING to see where it goes, I think it’s just instinctual. Sometimes I swear I don’t lift or look up too quickly and I still shank it. On the range, I’m much more consistent. But out for a round and half the time I feel I HAVE to keep my eye on it just in case it’s not down the middle. I know my buddies aren’t watching it for me…lol
rumor is one of Jacks early instructors used to grab his hair during the swing ......that'll teach you to keep your head still .......
Beyond rumor, Jack Nicklaus said that his coach - Jack Grout - would actually do that. It was The Golden Bear's most important swing key - enough so that he was willing to sacrifice his blond mane....😆
Favorite golf shorts come from you, well done mate

Here's a link in case you’re interested in checking it out: go.saguto.golf/
The pole keeping your head in place is called your spine. Rotate AROUND your spine in order to have a consistent strike.
Actually, while it may seem that simple on the surface, the spine is undergoing dynamic - and natural - changes throughout the motion, tilting, turning, extending, and flexing. I see it far too often where a golfer will attempt to "keep the spine angle" and thereby restrict themselves from executing a full and powerful swing. Instead we retain our relationship with the ball through a combination of the aforementioned actions.
Here is a link to my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” in case you’re interested in learning more about this in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/
What's funny is even as he says he kept his head still..... it still moves back and fourth to some degree 😂
Feels vs reals guys!!!
Some tilting or cocking of the head is certainly allowable. The key is that the head is remaining in the "box" established at address.
Jack knows a lot about the golf swing, definitely worth paying attention to...
That he does, Johnny, and yes he is!!
Spot on advice!
Thanks Adam!!
We, as kids, all learned from Jack's book "Golf My Way" I guess Jack is still relevant today Glad to see a pro who probably wasn't born before Jack quit still referencing the GOAT (no offense to Tiger)
Thanks, Kevin, and yes - the games best are always relevant, as are the pre-existing natural laws they so effectively harnessed in their swings. The way I see it, we can either simply put those same laws to work for us and thereby build a powerful, body-friendly, repeatable, low-maintenance motion, or we can twist, morph, torque, contrive, and otherwise mess with the principles of physics and geometry in an effort to better suit some ill-conceived whims, all the while recognizing that at the point of impact those pre-existing laws are going to be the only things that matter to the ball!
Tom
Thanks Tom!! Trying that at 60 years old, not easy
My pleasure, and I do understand! In that regard you may be interested to know that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
Have you looked into the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step from setup to finish. I love ❤️ guarantees. This is the swing key I've been searching for I bet. I've made that a hundred times before, but this time things are different. This. This is the one. I can already feel it.
I think.
"I think"........ 😆😆😆
Well, you see, therein lies the problem - you need to stop thinking and just let the physics and geometry of this swing system take over for you.
By the way, you may want to know that my channel's lessons and tips are not a compilation of band-aid fixes - they are all elements of the comprehensive swing system that I teach. Now, could someone deploy one of my tips to field dress a swing wound? Absolutely. However, it will ultimately serve them far better - and will stand the test of time and pressure - if they adopt and embrace the system in its entirety, and that is precisely what the online school does in a structured and sequential learning environment. Thousands of folks across the globe are now playing the best golf of their lives as a result, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. So is your stack& tilt?
Yes! This body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance Stack and Tilt swing system is designed to provide a lifetime of great ball striking, and since it is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everything in between, and inclusive of the best players in the world. I give all credit where it is due - including Andy Plummer and Mike Bennett for analyzing and interpreting the science, and to those who preceded them with their empirical observations of the game's best ball strikers and all their subsequent chalkboard number-crunching. I just do my best to take what they have built and convey it in my own simplified teaching style (which is fully on display in the comprehensive, structured, sequential learning platform of my online school - saguto.golf ).

Tom, if you actually see these posts:
I’m curious as to why you use such large grips. It looks like how i used to do my grips in the 90s. I tried jumbo grips and an extra wrap of tape, because I have bear paws for hands. I ended up using medium jumbo grips and one wrap of tape. It felt like the bigger grips were negating my wrist turn.
Yes - I am seeing your post, Rick.😎
I’m using JumboMax Ultralite grips in extra-large. I wanted to give them a try for a few reasons, including the fact that DeChambeau uses them and we share similar swing philosophies. These grips keep my hands much quieter - which I personally prefer. Also, since my fingers don't wrap all the way around and dig into my palms, I'm not triggering any forearm tension or activating arms muscles that may otherwise have a tendency to take control of the swing.
The Jumbos are not necessarily for everyone - and my fingers are also bit longer than average - so I routinely tell folks to "try before you buy." However, having a properly sized grip that feels both comfortable and secure is critically important as it is our only connection to the object that is going to deliver us blissful joy or deep anguish, yet it is perhaps also the most overlooked equipment fitting component in golf.
Tom
@@SagutoGolf
Makes perfect sense to me. I felt the same sensation when I used jumbo grips. Although, I felt like it caused me to block shots out to the right because I felt like I couldn’t get my hands turned over. I’m wondering if I should try a full size jumbo grip on my driver since my bad shots now are pull hooks.
That is a solid swing 👍
Thanks Paul!!
"and it's,a guarantee!"
Start your swing with a barbe wire fence parallel to.your hands. It will fix a slice and stop you from throwing your hands and that damn slice.
Assuming you still have hands to grip the club after that barbed wire has torn them to shreds..... 😆
Cheers!
Do you front load your weight on your left leg?
In the swing system I teach we start with our weight forward (generally 55/45 for the short and mid irons, 60/40 for the longer clubs), gradually add more forward weight to the top (70/30), 80/20 halfway down, 90/10 impact, and 95/5 finish. There's no "weight shift"; instead it's just a gradually increasing load onto the lead side. And the result is a centered, low-maintenance, body-friendly, consistent, and tremendously powerful swing.
You can learn more about this in my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” : go.saguto.golf/
TS
Were you Steve from Full House?
I loved you in Full House
As he moves his head
Jack has since backed away from his "immovable/frozen head" insistence , realizing it usually leads to a reverse pivot. Watch carefully as Jack moves, about an inch back, then forward ,only to returning back to the center. WORLD CLASS ball strikers...back to back US Open winners...Curtis Strange, Master's winner and reputably one of the BEST ball strikers ever Sandy Lyle moved WAY off the ball! Just because it worked for Jack does NOT mean we have to blindly mimic him as we try to break 100,90,80 or 70.
Sounds like a very difficult way to play good golf moving around like that. I prefer to teach something more repeatable and powerful.
1 out of 1,000 rich people are lottery winners, but I think I’d rather emulate the other 999…….
Jack always started with heavy pressure on his back foot. So heavy he couldn't practice in the same place very long because he pushed a hole in the ground with his back foot. Just so you know.
You don't know Jack
Here's Jack Nicklaus on weight shift - "I don't believe in a lateral shift," says Nicklaus. "Of course not. I believe in staying on the ball." Asked what he thinks about teachers who advocate a weight shift, he answers, "They don't know how to play."
@@SagutoGolf in Golf my way Jack talks a lot about weight transfer. You should check it out. 30 to 40 minute mark.

Good lord they're still selling this lol, can I get this to work on my atari 2600?
Purina dog chow!!! Crispy my friend
I've not personally sampled that, so I'll just need to take your word for it.....😎
Keep it KFCrispy!!
I think the keeping weight on the front side for full shots had been debunked by science. Starting 60/40 happens a lot but actually no good player keeps it there, or did I misunderstand something here?
Actually, this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance swing system is rooted in physics, geometry, and human physiology. As such it does not discriminate by age or ability - from kids to seniors and everyone in between, inclusive of the best players in the world. Watch any Tour event on TV and you'll see a significant number of players executing these motions, a fact corroborated by just how many of them have a very centered swing with the lead knee flexing and the trail leg straightening during the backswing, their lead arms on or very close to their tilted shoulder planes, and their hands deep behind their trail shoulder at the top.
Thousands of folks across the globe - including many seasoned, low-handicap, competitive players - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result of learning this swing system through my online school, and I'm happy to let their unsolicited testimonials tell the story: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. Compare and contrast that with the sad reality that despite all the advances in equipment, technology, golf course grooming, etc. the average golfer still struggles to break 100. Epic failures within the realm of “conventional” instruction, perhaps??? So many misconstrued and/or misguided teachings - such as taking the club straight back, turning the shoulders level while independently lifting the arms, shifting into and torquing against a firm trail side, actively rolling the hands through impact, etc. - have relegated generations of golfers to the vast abyss of inconsistency and chronic frustration (and chronic back/knee/hip pain as well).
I invite you check out my FREE mini-course “The Top 3 Things You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker” in case you’re interested in learning some key aspects of the swing system I teach in a more structured manner: go.saguto.golf/
Thanks,
Tom
Thanks for your reply Tom, I agree that general golf instruction is horrendous! I have just seen too many force plate data from good players to agree with the pressure being (and staying) on the left, this is not my opinion but facts. It obviously works for you because you stripe it🦾! Would be interesting to see your swing on force plates to see what actually happens, or maybe you have one of these videos already?
@@ge8382 Hey GE thanks for the reply! I've seen the data that shows the golfer pressure shifts into their trail side while their body weight is forward. There is a big difference when shifting weight vs pressure (as I show in this video - noodle.shop/sagutogolf/saguto-golf-school/thread/T5QD2jT20262hnkd4NWbeN-mk).
To shift center of mass (weight) off the ball would produce a moving contact point throughout the swing. Whereas pressure shift is the result of staying centered.
Great

TS
My man. You have got to stop making videos like you know how to teach the golf swing. "It's a guarantee" was the dead give away. I've listened to two or three of your videos, and "turning your shoulders in a circle" is one part of a complex series of events in a golf swing. And "leaving your weight on the left side" and "keeping your head still" are 2 " death moves when it comes to power in the golf swing. Your teaching 1 theory to everyone. Do you even realize what your creating? Seen it before? Heard it before? ITS CALLED A REVERSE PIVOT! And to prove the point, Jack Nicklaus, arguably the best golfer ever, played his whole career with a reverse pivot swing. That's because some knucklehead told him when he was young to keep your head "still", and "DONT MOVE IT". What they should have said is that you want to keep your EYES behind the ball, and not to dip your shoulders in your swing. The golf swing is not one or two "majic moves", it's actually proven to be the most dynamic athletic motion in all of sports. (The golf swing uses the most body parts in a certain sequence to produce the best result). Please don't make these trash videos for people to believe in. Do some research first
You wrote a whole novel just to say you’re mad.
After.watching suguto I shot 80 .play off 13.5 .the Man is a great teacher
