This is the best explanation on the difference and why FALSE GRIPS are used, and when. Thank you for sharing this video. Looking forward to more of your guides and tips. Cheers!
thanks simon, as spring approaches i'm going to be spending more time outside training on my rings, and I can't wait to learn the false grip and eventually RMU!
Impeccable timing! My wrists are finally good enough to not get injured easily, and I have started rings 3 weeks ago. Looking forward to trying this! Also: what a great location for a video! Hope you've gotten plenty of cool shots for the 'gram as well
Excellent video as always, Simon, you are a Master of all you do. The help you give is more than all the rest combined. I hope when I move to the Philippines, Base Blocks deliver there. Thanks again for the teacher You are!
Really helpful video, thank you. I've been practicing rings for a couple of years pretty consistently, and have built good strength in some areas, but still really struggle with the false grip. When I try to hold it, it always seems to just roll back into regular grip. I guess I haven't targeted wrist strength specifically enough.
It's very difficult to me just hanging on the bar using false grip, that's why I decided to strengthen my forearm muscles by doing Australian bars while using false grip.
I have one question: if I perform the false grip on the ring and then I lose it and pass to the standard grip, how can I come back to the false grip without letting go the rings?
Okay, how can one person that been out of shaped want to build grips strength. Unless you have a video that cover it, please send it my way. By the way, I am 40 years old, been lacking in staying in shaped beside my work.
I would very much like to do the slow muscle up but it seems virtually impossible. No matter if I use the false grip, I stay stuck at chest level and it won't go further up. Is the false grip really the way to go? Hurts like a mf.
Your technique is immaculate. Really shows the work you've put in over the years

Thank you, I am training now negatives with transition and false grip chin ups to improve my muscle up form.
This is really useful and makes so much more sense now - thank you 👌

Obrigado, essa técnico eu nunca consigo, vou tentar
Thanks been trying to train false grip, could you train it on resistance bands too?
I do this but my right wrist brusts out almost every muscle up / muscle up try. It makes it a lot harder, how could I make it better?
Do you grip with yr wrist facing straight out, or do you actually tilt it inwards? I can't seem to get it right.
