There REALLY needs to be some regular A-26 variants added to the tech tree at some point. The USAAF, USAF, and even the CIA flew those things for over three decades, and flew them so much in those three decades that the wings were falling off (leading to some supports being welded into them to reinforce them long enough to serve through to and past the end of the Vietnam War). The fact that it's only represented in-game by a couple of premiums (this thing and another one that used to be a PS4 exclusive before being pulled from the store for that version) is a travesty.
Also, another problem with the "Hokkaido" map is that Gaijin can't even get alternate history right. The Allies were planning on invading KYUSHU, the southernmost island of the Japanese home islands, and then pushing north from there. It was the SOVIETS that planned to invade Hokkaido, the NORTHERNMOST of the Japanese home islands.

I fell in love with attackers after I got a hold of the PBJ-1J and A-36. The A-36 is incredibly devastating if your team mates keep you covered from fighters. in a single match on the Berlin map, I destroyed nearly half of the objective targets(light pillboxes) with my 50 cals with the A-36.

After the A-26 was officially retired from military operations, it actually saw a ton of commercial and civilian use. There's a link I got somewhere about it. One or two were even used as drug transportation.

If you want to change it up on Guam, the British have 3 light cruisers(?) on the Americans' right and left. The spitfires rarely go to that side, and you can get 2 or 3 of them before the tempests show up. Also, if you want, you can fly around the right side to a British carrier. The cruisers help with tickets, and the carrier helps with prestige. The boats seem to know how to lead with their anti-aircraft artillery, but can't comprehend changes in pitch, which even a b17 can manage to exploit safely. Should enemy fighters materialize, these targets are quite close to the ships you used for cover in this video.
yes please do more attackers. Such a thankless job, would be nice to see the community give it some attention.
Would appreciate more vidz on bombers attackers i know its boring for most but i love them.I also love how you talk about how you use aircraft based on what your facing rather than its historical uses it makes farming for bomber/attacker players easier if you could maybe the skyraider i have great use for it in combined realistic battles but might be worth seeinbg how it plays in realistic air battles by itself or even sim mode.

Oh man, this plane was amazing when it was on rank 17 (or was it 16?). I farmed millions upon millions with it. God I miss those times :D Considering the first event: it was actually available via a code in some German magazine, but other countries learned the code and used vpn to get the plane. Gaijin got butthurt, but ultimately left all registered planes with their new owners without banning anyone.

Hey Magz, If you are thinking of covering attackers the Me-410 B6/R3 is a great one. I just used it to grind all the way to the German MiG-15 and I already have more ground kills in that plane alone than all of my other planes combined :D
That would actually be really cool if War Thunder did have some missions like that. Where you land quick pick up some troops and then fly back to base. Just something different than good ole ground attack I guess.

The hilarity is, in jet matches, there are a lot of PS4 players who use the thing to rush the 262s on takeoff. Much like the aradoC and R2Y2 attempt to do all the time. I've actually been in matches where they German team complained about how OP this was, and how the A26 should be classified a fighter and get a ground spawn... (But AradoC is fine)

Hey Magz, you mentioned taking a look at more attackers. I've been having lots of fun recently in the Firebrand TF Mk. IV. Maybe take a look at it for yourself? It's a unique aircraft, and I never see them flown out.

pretty sure these planes in reality aren't that expensive (case pendent) because a lot of these planes worked in wild fire fighting post war from what i have heard. One of these went for $90 G not too long ago.
And it gets a bomb sight, to the annoyance of a20g pilots
+Liam Kirby A-20G doesn't have a glass nose, The A-26 does.
+MagzTV The event was the summertime madness (2013?) and i believe you needed 1100 kills for the A26, 900 for the german D13, 500 or 600 for the a6m5. Can't remember the other ones but it was a hell of a grind.

G'day Magz. I just want to remind you there was a reason why you didn't do many vids on bombers and attackers, and i think the game hasn't changed much: they still don't belong. So even if i'd like to see them, keep in mind that all bombers and attackers are not really fun to play.

What the hell is the deal with planes deploying landing gear when they die?
I've never seen it happen in game, and it definitely never happens to my plane, but it happens in alllllllll of the videos on CZcams I watch of WarThunder.
Is it a bug on PC or something? Or do people have weird keybinds? I play on PS4 so I'm just thinking that must have something to do with it.

+Bullet4MyEnemy its a bug, it doesnt actually impact anything since it only happens to aircraft with dead pilots, so it doesnt need immediate fixing.
I got it by subscribing to a german gaming magazine a couple years back.
Love the Invader Just wish we had it in the regular tech tree...Would rather just grind for it than have to do anything else...Come on War Thunder give us a non premium A-26 maybe one of the 6 or 8 gun solid nose A-26B's.......with a lower BR rating so we don't get murdered by jets with in the first 2 minutes of the game

I don't think the Invader can see jets in SB now thanks to the minimum BR required for rank V now is 6.3 (which is why B29 spam still exists). Quite a damn fast aircraft, even bearcats and tempests struggle to chase with that annoying gunner.
There are bomber spams in SB? I can rarely get into a game let alone face B-29 spams
Its not as common today and B29s are rare in Rank IV because the players need to earn their way up whereas in Rank V they just spawn as many times as they want. In fact they often j-out at the end because its more ecnomically efficient time-wise

Yeah the Wirraway is fun as hell to fly out in RB, I've had some great matches in it (including one where I managed 3 kills)!

It's actually a lovely plane to fly if it weren't for its lackluster armament. It's faster than props and out turns any jet. The biggest threat to it is the Ho-229 I find.

Hey magz I'm writing a story about alternate world war 2, where a bomber crew has to fly form Hawaii to Australia and while flying to Australia they have the Queen of England inside the plane with them and I can't think what to use as the aircraft. Please help I was going to go with a B 25 J or a G model what do you think?.

Easy task to get this? You`re kidding. Even I tried 6 hours I only got 13 wins out of 25. Sometimes you get put into teams that loose no matter what, and no matter how good you are. I had one of those days. Lost like 10 times in a row. But then, as the tanks was over, I got 7 wins in a row... but yeah... easy (still geting angry when I look back at that bullshit)...

It's an interesting platform to talk about the history of aircraft that don't appear often in other games or sims and on occasion you can still get a good fun match out of it. But I am sure you have noticed it is no where near as prominent on the channel as it once was.

+Havefun1738 _ Performance wise yes it's the same with just a different name. However again as the PS4 Premium is PS4 exclusive so it doesn't apply to the vast majority of players. The only one that matters is the one they can get access to visa events and it is not a premium, can not be brought and does not come fully upgraded. The three points that you incorrectly told me I was wrong about.
I also wont mention the PS4 one in a video ever because content being walled off from players as exclusives based on the platform from which the game is being played boils my blood.

No bonus and comes stock shows nowhere in the definition of premium, It's a premium because it is outside of the normally accessible. It's rarity or inaccessible nature is what makes it premium, Not it's bonuses or upgrades.
+MagzTV I would categorize planes/tanks that are like the A-26 as "reward vehicles" rather than "premium vehicles".
+Avalon304 An this is a discussion that will forever turn in a circle. Players of games like WoT's and WT seem to define premiums as anything with a bonus that aids in a grind.
Thing is I also play IL-2 and a number of other flight sims such as X-plane and FSX, The extra purchasable aircraft in IL-2 are called premium aircraft, But they have no bonuses and assist in grind in no way, FS and Xplane have been calling specially developed payware aircraft premium for almost two decades now and will in those there isn't even a grind so there is definitely no bonus.
I use the dictionary definition because it applies to pretty much every game and sim with premium content accurately rather than the "Premium must have a bonus" definition that only applies to a number of free to play games.
The interesting part is WT agrees with me, These non bonuses premium aircraft sit in the section of the tech tree put aside to premium aircraft and are otherwise marked exactly the same as other premium aircraft with the sole difference being the lack of bonuses. And when Gaijin mentions to them in there own dev blogs even they call them premium. It's one of the few things I think Gaijin and I actually agree on.
