Hey, In your video you said the april fools event are for testing which is false, Anton the CEO made a post on reddit that said
"April's Fool's is for fun, not for testing. We don't test anything on April's Fools events. We don't have agenda for them. Usually we dont even KNOW what event would be on April's Fools MONTH before event.
Idea that we plan "testing" something on April's Fool's, planning in advance is nonsense, not anywhere near truth."

It's not though, Check the forum or even the comments, IT's always filled with random ideas and speculations. Like hundreds. The chance there's atleast one that sounds familiar is not improbable. No, take the words of the CEO and it's not for testing.

The fact that tanks would shoot potatoes in the inflatable tank event is also a slight jab at Wargaming, since they are from Belarus and Belarus is heavily associated with potatoes.

I kinda wish that they added actual wooden warships to the tech trees as the beginner tier because that would be really cool and you would experience most of naval history in the game from square rigged galleon to triangle rigged schooners then iron sides onto the modern era of naval combat

There's some sort of irony in how even Gaijin back in the day thought they would have added at least 5 BRs by the time they reached modern stuff and today we have those vehicles and they're a BR above Cold War stuff.
Since then they realized they need to milk the playerbase dry because the investors said so.
Well for tanks, it's only been like 30 years since the end of cold war and not much has happened since then, but still agree that we need more planes.

@@DZ477 Sure but we took a leap from mid cold war vehicles to late cold war vehicles suddenly. Like the US went from the M60A1 and MBT-70 to the M1 even though there were several M60 variants in between that. And now we have the problem that all of those vehicles that came after the 50s are becoming nonviable because they have to face the current generation of MBTs.

That was back when the game was a passion project of the devs. Making money was just a bonus to having a game that had detailed vehicles in it. Somewhere along the way they lost that passion and now it's all about the money.

@@fireraid2336 Balance was very bad. Tiger 2 with 10.5 cm and panther 2 fought IS-4 and T-54. Damage model on bombers were so overpowered that you needed to shoot them for forever to take down.

I genuinely wish the submarines came to the game, I absolutely fell in love with them. Sure, it was a bit boring at times, but my GOD the sound design was what made it worth it imo. The eerie feeling, the sonar beeping, and in general just not knowing when you're gonna get hit or not since its complete silence is amazing, kinda like a horror game type of vibe (Despite War Thunder already being sort of a horror game with how much the game makes me jump at times)

Hello, i'm from the future and I can Say that there's a Mobile version of WT in which their first April's Fools event is no other than the return of the Ponies
I wish these were permanent... I really want to play as a KV2 walker.

@@jPlanerv2 It's an old game, but Ring of Red had a lot of similar mech designs. It was however a combined arms strategy game, not a 3rd person action like this. Each unit on the field was a mech + three 5-man infantry squads in support with a variety of types from rifles, to engineers, medics, etc. One squad would ride the mech and act as the crew (your named characters were the pilots though.) The other two supported from foot.
I want an entire game based on the walkers set in alt history ww2. I love alternative history ww2 stuff especially walkers.
With how things are going for WT, the next April Fool's will be the game except all of its issues will have been fixed, but it will only be available for 12 hours on the dev servers of course...

Having played since war thunder's inception, this was some serious nostalgia seeing the old hangar UI from the ponies and the footage of them zooming around in battle, to the walkers, and later the T-90 and Leopard 2 on the OG middle east. I don't seem to remember having to be on the dev server for gaijilla though. Man I wish I could go back sometimes
Next we'll see an april fools where you play as soldiers on bicycles fitted with mounted missiles and machine guns that can turn 360 degrees.

The reason why camera was slightly offset in helicopters is simple - Apache: Air Assault. They simply put helicopters from that game in WT without changing much (same engine after all).

I wish we could still play Silent Thunder and Space Thunder in some way. It’s such a waste of an interesting game mode, especially Silent Thunder.
They should have the previous April fools events make regular appearances in the Events & Tournaments tab. Like, have a weekly rotation of the previous events. People who joined the game (relatively) recently would be able to play the old events, like the walkers and the OP ponies, and old players could revisit their favorite and anything they missed.
Of course this would make sense so it's never gonna happen.
I mean, I wouldn’t be surprised if WT continues to expand that subs will end up being integrated with naval somehow, kinda like how tanks and planes were. No idea wtf the space one is a test for tbh

My first exposure to WarThunder was SilentThunder. I thought it was a regular in-game mechanic.
My disappointment was immeasurable when I found out the mechanic was only there for limited time 😂
The Pony Beta was an absolutle blast. Not only did it allowed players to get a taste of Jets (since it used the physics of the Me-163), but it also gave way for an entire new style of gameplay who was immensely fun.
The March of Victory with the walkers was also very fun, however the walkers themselves were locked behind a SP count making them difficult to get. You had to kill a bunch of tanks with your own before being able to use them. Meaning you could get badluck strike and being unable to even test them. Got a friend who basicly couldn't get them since he always got killed right before he could shot.
It’s a pity Gaijin keeps pushing new things instead of just fixing all the broken things already in the game

the 2016 is the one that I remember the most because I only played one round and I am amazed that not that many players knew how to shoot with the cannons.
Unpopular opinion: The ponies were a low point and the true MVPs of War Thunder were the pirate ship battles. I will fucking die on this hill.

Honestly that 1 pirate battle I saw looks like more fun than the real naval battles
THe pony thing was a lot of fun, nobody had jets back then and it was really cool to fly something so fast.

I absolutely loved the hats, every year since I always hope that they restore the size for the event but it never happens :(
4:00 I thought it was war robots but that 13 days too early
When they reused the submarine event, there was a horrible bug where aiming the submarine upward would result in submarines flying into the skies at Mach 2. I personally figured out how to utilize the bug to spawn camp by using it to outrun torpedos and land inside the enemy spawn.
I noticed that it would make you go abnormally fast but I crashed into ice before flying so I never got to do that :/
