- The Factory BMW intake on the F30 BMW 328i is extremely quiet to the point that you cannot hear any turbo noises at all. To change this there are numerous intake options from MST, AFE, CTS and many other brands. Most on these intakes are essentially the same which drove my decision to go with CST based on price. I also went with the FTP turbo inlet for my BMW. This decision was based on price as well as it being one solid piece as opposed to MST which uses a silicone coupler.
This modification makes so much turbo noise it is nonstop whooshes and blow off sounds!

I'm glad I'm not the only one willing to tune a 328i. 😅 i see it as good investment on a daily sport
you're not the only one, breh😄
it dropped my 0-60 to the mid to high 4 second range. definitely worth it
getting one tomorrow boys😂

sounds great
MST makes an intake (model BW-N2003) that relocates the filter to the area behind the headlight like you were talking about. It also includes a turbo inlet pipe that's specifically for it, which is why it sells for $500+. I have it for my N20 328i wagon and it is LOUD. Sounds like a vent to atmosphere BOV. I've gotten tired of it and am returning to the stock intake box with a FTP turbo inlet.
You selling that intake big fella?
@@mbmgunna01 yup on bimmerpost
Can you post that link?
It's on bimmerpost forums in the for sale section.
Turner Motorsports makes an N20 intake that is relocated closed to the right strut tower, like you mentioned in the video.
I didn’t know about this it looks pretty cool! But from looking at the pictures on Turners website it looks like the piping still goes across the front of the engine. Still an improvement though.
Is this also evable on the bmw 2017
that sounds orgasmic I just ordered one
You need to get the GFB DV+ blow off valve and it’ll sound even better
I was looking at this. I think it will be on my to do list after a charge pipe.
@@BMWE90HQ charge pipe and boost pipes are a must. The plastic charge pipe gets very weak and the rubber boost pipe gets to flexible and can actually expand under good boost.
@@donschroeder5194 thanks for the info! A lot of things I have read on the forums were inconclusive on this. With the N54 it was all very straight forward. I think the charge pipe I was looking at came with the boost pipe as well.
There a gap between the turbo and the end of the pipe and the nut hole feels broken
Is it hard to replace I got the part today
whats the point ? for the sound that seems to annoy ? does not make the car any faster. had mine tuned and its a rocket and sounds awesome with a high quality intake filter same housing
Mostly for sound yes. If you choose to frame as annoying yes. If tuned it will provide more power due to increased airflow although it may not be too significant of an increase. Without a tune it may be a gain of 3-5 HP and turbo noises. TBH the noises aren't too loud unless you go into sport mode. Then they are quite loud!
Hey man, I have the same car and was wondering how u got the speed on the dash, I can’t seem to get that figured out and I’ve heard I need coding for it, what did u do?
Heads up display. Ur car either comes with it or doesn’t. You can buy a knock off way and install it.
I coded it with BimmerCode! I have a video about it!
I have the same exact setup and believe me IS NOT LOUD AT ALL!
In sport mode it is. In Comfort not so much.
It’s also a 2.0l 4 banger brother. You have to let off the throttle at higher rpm to get the whoosh on autos
I think my intake doesn’t have the vacuum line I can’t find the hole
Same
How you put n20 in the description and talking about an N26 make your mind up
Same thing
They're essentially the same thing. N26 is SULEV version of N20.
Bro why when I installed air intake check engine light goes on??
Code it out
Correct you installed an aftermarket product which triggered the computer that there’s a problem. It’s normal as it’s not tuned to it. You can code it out but it’ll come back
Best is if you just go straight to the chip tuning ...
Will this fit in a 528i?
I don’t think intake pipe routing is the same.
What about the x1 n20
I don’t believe it will fit without modifications looks like the intake is on the other side of the engine bay? Not 100% though.
I have a 2014 BMW X1 with the n20 I have a intake from Ecs tuning
There’s an unnecessary necessity if I’ve ever seen one. 😅
Suena feo .
That's your opinion...
