I realize I am posting two years later than the time you made this video, but my list is long from the recommendations you have given us. Thanks Miranda and Happy Reading 📚

I'm always recommending Elizabeth Von Arnim to friends and family. The two you mentioned are some of my favorites. So few people have heard of her here in the states. So happy to find another person with a similar taste in books 😊

I loved The Other Bennet Sister. I probably would have given it a miss if I hadn't listened to your interview with Janice Hadlow (there are SO MANY books in the Austen extended universe). We all admire Lizzy's wit and cleverness, but the vast majority of us can really identify with Mary as portrayed in this book. Ms. Hadlow has written such a great explanation for why Mary is what we see in P&P (and why she's so much more than that) while staying so true to the world and characters in Austen. And Mary actually made it to the Lakes!! While I'm not (in October) in lockdown, (at least currently, thank goodness!!), I do enjoy your book lists.

Thank you, Miranda, for another lovely video with a great selection of books! A Fine Romance by Susan Branch sounds delightful and I immediately added it to my wish list. :) (and the others sound great as well and I will have to look into possibly picking them up in the future)
It's been a while since your cosy mysteries video but I wanted to let you know that on your recommendation I picked up and read Strong Poison by Dorothy L. Sawyers and The Daughter of Time by Josephine Tey. I thoroughly enjoyed both of them and it really motivated me to reread the Agatha Christie books I already had on my shelves. I've been rereading one almost every weekend and it has reminded me of how much I used to love them - and apparently still do! So thank you for the inspiration and recommendations! :)
And, finally, on a walk today I listened to the last two podcasts you recorded together with your mum (March reads and Easter reads) and they were such a lovely listen! I'd be very happy if you record more chats with your mum - you both just have the most perfect accent, too!
I hope you had a wonderful day and I wish you a great week!💗🌸💕

A Fine Romance is really a delightful read. I love all of Susan Branch's beautiful illustrations and photos too. I'm so happy you enjoyed those mysteries and that they inspired you to return to Agatha Christie again. I'm listening to 'Murder is Easy' read by Hugh Fraser at the moment which is so fun. Mum will definitely be back on the podcast as a monthly guest - out next chat together will go live on Friday, in fact! xxx

Thank you for your wonderful recommandations! I've wanted to read Elizabeth Jane Howard's series et The Enchanted April for a long time and I must get to them one day. Richmal Crompton seems very interesting, especially as I've just discovered PG Wodehouse and loved the 2 books that I've read.
So many people seem to love The Warden but I found it very boring, and Anthony Trollope is one my absolute favorite authors.
I'm also very interested in The Other Bennet Sister, it seems to be a very nice Jane Austen retelling. And it looks like many people are reading it at the moment.

So glad you enjoyed them - thank you! The Enchanted April and The Light Years are such good books for this time of year - definitely recommend adding them to your list. I adore the Just William books - they have that laugh out loud quality and very British sense of humour that I enjoy from P. G. Wodehouse, although the William books are of course children's (but still very much enjoyed by adults!). xxx

Sometimes I just re-read the letters only. I really enjoy epistolary bks. Started w/ 84 Charring Cross Rd; when I was 19...umpteen yrs. ago! Wrote down some recommendations. Hi Miranda! I just watched the Elizabeth Jane Howard mini-series of these books. I loved it so much that I ordered the books. The Guernsey book has been one of my favs and I also watched the movie on Netflix which I adored as well. I am almost finished with The Enchanted April which I am enjoying as well. I was so happy to see a Susan Branch book in this collection. A Fine Romance was so good being an anglophile myself, but the Martha's Vineyard Isle of Dreams book was my favorite in this series. She is adorable. I can not wait to get the other epistolary books that you recommend here as they are always favorites of mine. Thanks so much for sharing!

Another wonderful video Miranda. Im so glad that I have a few of them already on my shelves. Even more excited to get to them now. I actually began a re-read of P & P on the weekend in preparation for The Other Bennet Sister. There are so many Austen retellings which is fabulous for all us fans. This one sounds delightful, I look forward to it! Speaking of retellings; another one called The Clergyman's wife has been put on my radar. Have you heard of it? It focuses on Charlotte Lucas' story. It sounds interesting.
Thanks again Miranda. Keep safe and happy reading. Maria
P.s. I listened to your interview with Laura Cumming this morning on my walk. What a frightening yet fascinating story. I want to know more and just now trying to work out a easy way I can order On Chapel Sands.
