I know of a person [an atheist] who was on a plane that had declared an emergency, and they were all in the crash position, yet he didn't pray. I've found there are mentions of Jesus in the Chinese books of the Latter Han, some sources even cite exactly where, but I'm having a hard time finding it. I try using google translate to get the symbol for "eclipse", and that symbol shows up in these books, but not in a context about Jesus. If I can find it in the Chinese history books myself, it'll be the first verifiable evidence of info from the bible, outside of the bible. Can anyone point me towards where to find it?

No, the simplification started many centuries ago. The language reform of the 50s actually had to do very little inventing. They just used simplified forms already in use, or slightly modified them. I’ve seen simplified characters on rock carvings in China many centuries old.

I've found there are mentions of Jesus in the Chinese books of the Latter Han, some sources even cite exactly where, but I'm having a hard time finding it. I try using google translate to get the symbol for "eclipse", and that symbol shows up in these books, but not in a context about Jesus. If I can find it in the Chinese history books myself, it'll be the first verifiable evidence of info from the bible, outside of the bible. Can anyone point me towards where to find it?
