Yeah I like the slower approach here, because this needs to feel believeable for Goku to achieve something powerful as Ultra Instinct or close to it. The banter between Roshi and Grandpa Gohan was funny, and Goku learning more about Enlightenment/Ultra Instinct from Master Mutaito was pretty cool. Anyways another really good start to this new series, and looking forward to the next part soon.

Ultra Instinct not only gives the user the understanding of enlightenment, but it also provides immense increase of speed, strength, flexibility and durability when the body, mind and soul are pushed into their absolute max.

I like the slower pace of story telling. I think Dragon Ball deep down is about how the characters interact outside of fights. Those episodes were always my favorite ones to watch.
Thanks for watching! I agree with you, the character interactions and their growth is just as important if not more so than the fighting. If we as an audience don’t care about the characters, why would we care about their battles? Ya know?
@@ProfessorChimpYT this is why there isn’t a single character in the main cast I dislike. Even in the Buu arc where the cast is huge, everyone has as much screen time that is needed by the story. Hell, even someone like the Ox King. He holds Chichi when she thinks Gohan dies and his laughing and concerned faces convey so much during the Saga. Super on the other hand, completely abuses characters and flanderizes secondary characters into oblivion.
@McR Gaming without the build up the fight is meaningless. I liked the scenes where they train and have a slice of life. The build up for the main fights is done really well and without it the the series wouldn’t be the same.
@McR Gaming I think Goku training in the gravity chamber on the way to Namek is more entertaining than the actual fight. Also the episodes in between the Android Saga are really interesting. The thing is that a lot of fights drag on for way too long especially in the Buu arc.
@McR Gaming character interaction, development and growth is very important and is satisfying to watch. If you didn't want any of that in an anime, all you have to do is seafch up the fight scenes on youtube and boom thats your whole experience with the show.
Roshi was able to imitate UI during the ToP. This is kinda believable.
I assume he might be able to unlock it somewhere during the piccolo saga, as sensing ki and moving without thought is what popo tried to teach Goku originally, I look forward to the next part
I definitely plan on bringing up his training with Popo in the future 👀

But this looks a lot more interesting and a lot more real as Goku probably wouldn't survive a spirit bomb then especially with buu overpowering him, starting from the fundimentals and starting from ground up is the best way i think

Just to note, drunken fist is a real-life martial art. Although it's less moving without thinking and more imitating the motions of someone who's drunk, keeping yourself loose and your opponent constantly having to guess what you're going to do next.

A comedic point taken to a bit of extreme because someone didn't want to get yelled at or get in trouble, and then tieing it together lore-wise, seems oddly on par for this era of Dragonball.
The only odd part is that we know this will lead to almost Ultimate Power, rather than just another step along the way.
Sounds about right imo
The angels are named after liquor so ultra instinct being an advanced drunken style makes way too much sense

I NEED PART TWO IM IN LOVE WITH THIS honestly I wish this was more of a focus in the original story, enlightenment is connected with a lot of martial arts so the lack of it in the original run of dragon ball was disappointing in hindsight, seeing this approach is honestly very refreshing. I can’t wait to see more!
If I recall correctly, moving without thinking was something Popo tried to teach Goku during the anime filler so it’s not exactly unexplored territory, the idea for UI just didn’t exist yet. The foundation is there, all you gotta do is add some more details and the pieces will fit together in time :)

I didn't expect you using the PG way of the Drunken Fist for Goku to achieve enlightenment road to Ultra Instinct.
Though in my opinion, it's the best option to learn the inner movements and power build up brick by brick.
Excellent work and great job on doing this story in a slow pace in order for as fans to know how Martial Arts works.
But after the story of DragonBall is done for this what if, what would happen in the Z portion?
Goku would to shatter his limits to the max if going to beat Frieza, Cell and Majin Buu.
I have a lot in store for the DBZ portion of this story, don’t you worry! We shall see 👀

also you should really branch out, maybe a Mha what if here, a naruto what if there, shout out to plus ultra man
I don't think I've ever been more hype for changes I would normally consider small, such as Roshi training openly rather than in secret and Goku learning to sense ki earlier (I think? I'm not actually too sure when he learned the ability).
This is an excellent video overall, and I'm very invested in how Goku's journey will play out!
In the original story, Goku didn’t learn how to sense Ki until after he trained with Kami for a few years so getting this ability early will definitely be handy for Goku!

As everyone has said and I do agree with it, I enjoy this slower pace.
The interactions and dialogue help with understanding Goku's journey towards Enlightenment (Ultra Instinct eventually), plus this is a plausible way of going about this scenario.
I'm very much looking forward to the rest of this idea, as I think you'll do wonderful.
Plus, this isn't how Goku achieved Ultra Instinct early. This is how Dripku was born.

I like the way you have started this story. It seems more realistic than how some people try this and just make an ultra instinct Goku at the very beginning because that makes sense. You can see all the slight hints for Goku to put the pieces together so he might train enough throughout time to get it earlier but not be stupid lol. Also what if Goku calls it his super drunk mode now..?
LOL yeah, Goku just calls UI “his Drunken Fist” for the rest of the series until Beerus and Whis correct him :P
