The French Char 2C is an absolutely massive heavy tank, though its performance does not match its size. I feel it is a perfect example of BR compression, and I hope Gaijin puts it at a more suitable battle rating.

You got to remember he only shows the good games for his videos, as someone who plays this piece of shit, trying to fight anything at 300 meters with an armor is impossible. And even at point blank the tanks at its tier are often straight up impossible to kill from the front
I think the reason the 2C shells surprisingly pen when you think they wouldn't is that they have an absolutely massive amount of filler when compared to other 75s. Even if they barely pen or non pen they end up doing some form of explosive damage.
Yeah it has more explosive material in those aphe than even IS-2
I noticed during the video he was over pressuring his targets, so it's damage is set to 'absolute' if it pens they die, if it non-pens they may just die anyway.

You should play the L-62 ANTI II, the Finnish anti-air with a larger cannon than many of the swedish tanks at its br level

The 2C had a HEAT shell developed for its APX 1897 gun, but for some reasons, gaijin didn't felt like adding it...

@@xavierroy9034 theyre both the APX gun, i am not 100% if the years are devloped the same, but if all the swedish tanks with the same caliber guns all get the exact same apds even if the tank never even used it. then i think it would be unfair to expect the same for the 2cs canon if its true

The 2C should have access to the same shells the SAu 40 and B1 use for their respective 75s, since they are all the same gun (B1's barrel is slightly shortened), and all WW1 shells

I love how if you cut off the turrets, superstructures and sponsons on both tanks, Char 2C and Mark VIII Liberty International base are so much alike... and yet there is no suspension on the latter and there were never plans to put Liberty engine(s) onto the former.
It also highlight the doctrine difference between french and british approach to heavy tanks of WWI despite having similar trench crossing requirements - brits decided to use sponsons to simplify development and production and to lower the center of mass. French said screw it all and walked their own path, again.
Sounds about right for the french. But you have to hand it to them, if it weren't for them walking their own path and pushing the envelope we would see modern Warfare the way it is. Or at least it would of developed much slower
Fun fact, the shell the Char 2C used in real life had more penetration than the one it has in game, even more weird is that the shell they gave it in game is completely made up
Also I'd love it if they could add the Lorraine variant where they up armored the tank by giving it 90mm frontal armor and 65mm on sides. Makes it a 75 ton monster

It's not really a bug, it's just something they decided for "balance purposes" , there's many other tanks that aren't accurate, me complaining about it won't change anything

9:42 to be fair, teammate names can sometimes overlap with enemy tanks so perfectly, especially in close quarters, that its difficult to recognize an enemy.

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has. I am not gonna surrender in proposing this.

the T-28 that nonpenned you at 9:30 was a T-28 1938. The 2C is resistant to .50 cal, so it makes sense that it can resist a 76 with about the same pen as a .50 (seriously, its 37mm of pen)
About the reload, sure it seems like it should be faster considering the size of the turret, but look at how far from the turret the ammunition is located.

There was someone below handing the loader a new round each time, and the loader would hold the ready round for the next shot. There was no reload delay or need to climb anything

This is more comparable to a navy ship reloading its main battery, than a tank. No wonder it takes a while, the poor sods probably have to bucket-brigade each shell through the interior.

I never know how people have problems with killing this thing when you have a side shot. It has its ammo rack directly under the main turret and even with a pretty dinky gun you can make all the crew go boom.
To be fair regarding the matilda. Thats how everyone feels at 4.3 when german brings there tiger 1 out
I remember having to fight the H1 for the first time will all of my Sherman tanks, finally decided to bring the M10 only to counter it. 75 jumbo vs Tiger H1 is like blowing punches on each others chest with armor plate inserts on a vest. I was a noon and unintentionally angling my Jumbo. We both non pen and bounced each other. 💀
Tigers aren't too bad since the lower side armour is only 60mm thick, as well as the cupola being the same thickness and visible from every angle. Don't be afraid to shoot the barrel first given the most dangerous part of the tiger is the firepower.
cupola mate, it's only 82mm thick. Panther is much worse to face from the front.

Hey Spook, since you like rat tanks, you should play the Italian R3 T106 FA.
It's basicly a T114, but with 2 barrles and no autoloader.
In my experience, the 2c and 2c bis both excel at locking down and holding a point in an urban map. Especially when you got a bis and 2c working together, I have helped win matches by just holding down a point with a battle buddy in a 2c while I delete hard targets with a 2c bis.
I absolutely love the 2C Bis because the size of the shell feels like the equivalent of throwing a very VERY angry brick at someone

If there was any tank that you couldn't pen, it would be the matilda.
Saying "I can't EVEN pen the matilda" is like saying I can't even lift a car up.
It's literally one of the best armored tanks on the tier.

Also (day 6 asking) you should try the Japanese STA1/2/3/Type 61 (they're all kinda the same), decent mobility, good gun and great sight magnification makes them pretty fun to play.
He should play the ST-A1 and ST-A2 first before hoping on the perfect prototype ST-A3 and the final product Type 61.

Just got back into WT recently (used to be a WoT boy) so didn't know the Char 2C was in here
8:16 Yes, it was designed for WW1: FCM recieved the order during it, the tank recieved many delays because of the FT-17 being in development and parts as well as funding were going towards that light tank instead of the behemoth, came out of the factory after the war, during WW2 the 10 tanks that made up all of the Char 2C production numbers were reactivated and used for propaganda purposes only, during the Invasion of France the tanks were loaded on a train and driven away only to be stopped by a burning train, tanks were destroyed by the french to prevent capture, only one survived and was transported to Germany where it stood there until it disappeared in 1948.

Just as I sit down with my dinner. It does not get better than this.
When you are playing low speed and/or high weight tanks, it's handy to learn it's cruise control speeds. Because cruise control forces optimal RPM for given speed, quite often you get much better hill climbing speeds on first or second cruise control step. For example, king tiger climbs like 6-8 on crappy hills, but manages about 14 on cruise control on the very same hills.
