With all the heavy cream and cheese filled dishes we get to eat on Keto sometimes you just want a salad. Something that's fresh, light and still hits all the spots (and fits your macros). This Greek Salad is perfect and it's super easy to make. Sure it's got a few more carbs in it than most Keto people like but these are carbs from vegetables and not really the same as eating a candy bar. Show me one person who got fat eating a cucumber? Anyway I'd say forget the Keto police and enjoy this salad. If you're low carb that's even better because there is no police involved. Anyway cheers & keep cooking!!

Everyone is talking about the salad but the real star is Sahil’s voice over. You outdid yourself and made my evening. I live close to Greece so I have to be careful about the olive police as well. Luckily, I like mine whole.
I make my own Greek dressing at home. I put small crumbles of the feta cheese in the dressing. They break down after a bit and turn it into a creamy dressing.
Recipe? Marie's used to make a Chunky Feta dressing YEARS ago & I have never been able to replicate it. It was very thick & SOOOOOOOO delicious! We used it as a salad dressing but mainly to top tomato slices or dip Little Caesar's breadsticks in! :)
Didn’t try my first salad until I was 19 at a business lunch at a Greek restaurant. Greek salad by far the most superior and is the reason I now eat salads. I’ve always been so picky but it’s really opened up my options.
Rave dance party! 🥳 🎉 😄 Love the water tip for the red onions. I've always like "waterfall" Greek 🥗 cuz of the onions n feta. 😁
My fave salad came from a local chef- spinach topped with sliced strawberries, blueberries, spiced sweet pecans (chopped) & feta- with an orange curry vinaigrette! :)
Nice, I love Greek Salad :)
Yum. I've been to Greece to visit friends and they make Greece salad all the time. Yes they serve the Feta cheese whole. I ate Greek salad American style (lettuce w/o green peppers) so I was surprised when I had an authentic Greek Salad. No lettuce and they added green pepper.
Love Greek food. Thank you for sharing!
LOVE Greek food! My favorite way to eat Greek salad is with Greek food at a Greek restaurant. I also like what's usually called a "chef's salad" in the USA: basic greens and salad veggies topped with julienne cheese and cold cuts. Generally ham, Swiss cheese and roast beef. It's a good option for people doing keto or low-carb, when dining out at a restaurant with a diner-style menu.
Throw a couple of anchovies on there!! Yum!!!!
I love your voiceovers 😍😍
Also Greek salad is one of my favorites...I usually add a dash of white vinegar to the onion and rest is for about 5mins...the onion doesn't wilt but has a slight tangy taste.
I love Greek salad as well, but my favorite salad is Mexican steak salad with a cumin lime vinaigrette and queso fresco cheese yeah. I use grilled flank steak
Love a fresh Greek salad. Feta makes everything betta!
It sure does!
Your Greek salad looks fabulous, Sahil! In our area of western NY many "Greek" restaurants serve an open face chicken souvlaki. The marinated grilled chicken breast portion comes cut in several 1 inch wide strips served atop a large Greek salad and toasted pita bread (which I offer to a bread-eating tablemate) and tzatziki sauce.
Two of my other most favorite salads are taboulleh (made with riced cauliflower, rather than cooked cracked wheat) and Salad Nicoise (for which I skip the boiled potatoes and sometimes replace with steamed cauliflower).
Many thanks for the inspiring share!
My favorite is Greek salad.
Oh, thank you. As a Greek, I am so happy there was no lettuce in this salad. Two thumbs up!!!
PS. Balsamic vinegar is delightful as well.
Ωραίος
I love kani or mango salad. I just have lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, carrot, ripe mango, Kewpie or mayo, and that's it. You may also add some cheddar cheese. Or any cheese you like with mango 😁
for the dressing...
DRIED oregano is a must. Thyme is not a valid substitute.
Lemon juice > red wine vinegar. All day, every day.
Garlic Salt > regular salt. It needs that bit of garlic to it as well.
lastly, crumble up some of the feta and incorporate it into the dressing before whipping it together with a fork - and if you want it "creamy" style, then you can just add some greek yogurt to the dressing and it will mix beautifully.
For the actual salad - Bell peppers are out of place here. You can do just tomatoes, cucumber, onion, cheese and olives and it's wonderful - or you could add bulk without really adding calories by using spring mix or romain. Pepperoncini is a nice garnish.
I love his sense of humour. 😄❤😂
My absolutely favourite salad but with capers and no olives😄
Oregano does not grow everywhere in Greece, especially on a lot of islands. Therefore, thyme is fine, and is actually my prefered herb, fresh of either is rarely used, dry is more convenient and has much more aroma (I'm obviously talking here for wild plants if you can't get your hands on them, you will have to make do with the homegrown, but even the best organic will hardly have 10% of the aroma of the real thing).
You don't have to use vinegar at all (but some people love it). If you are served the salad at a restaurant it will never have vinegar in it.
Parsley and spearmint are excellent to add. Lettuce is not (it is excellent, but is not a greek salad anymore).
Capers and fermented or pickled cucumber are excellent too. If you find yourself at a place where capers grow a lot, you will almost always get them in your greek salad.
Rocket is a great addition too.
Now there is another great addition, that many greeks absolutely love, but I cannot find a name in English. It grows just next to the roots of tomatoes or eggplants, and it's called glystrida, it's a soft, juicy plant that you eat the whole of it.
Ooooohhhhh yummy yummy... Shopping day is 2days away, am so buying the stuff for this!
great for summer....
I don't ever have the red wine vinegar so I use the liquid off of my olives for the dressing. I love olives so I don't mind it!
O.k. enough jibber jabber I am headed to the market to get the ingredients to make this delicious looking Greek Salad.
Made a HUGE pan of ratatouille a few days ago, it sends everyone straight to heaven with some crispy bacon. But after a while eating it we all want a salad. This is perfect!
I’m definitely making this, looks so good.
I prefer salads without any leafy greens, so this is my favorite salad 🥗 😋
We have a version here in states that has pasta and cured meats added to it.
I make a Greek salad almost weekly for the lovely lady I do homecare for. She loves them! Chicken Ceasar is my favorite 😃
That looks absolutely delicious.
Greek salad is one of my favorites. I also like taco salad.
I absolutely love Greek salads. I don't use peppers or even raw onions (because of the taste). I will try some onion added (using your tip of course) and use lettuce.
Oh boy! This was so so good. I made mine with the ingredients I had at home and a few twists but oh so good.
Scrumptious! That looks delicious, no onions for me but everything else is a win. Excellent job! 😊
Love this! I think this will hit the table this week.
Such a beauty and the salad is stunning too. Sahil, you are one lucky man because you have Deepti as your soul-mate, you get to create luscious meals for your fans, and you ROCK. Just fyi, Greek salad is my favorite too. HUGS
Looks very tasty! Love Greek food. My favorite salad is one I invented just using what was in the fridge because I had some baby spinach that I did not want to waste. Baby spinach, cut up mini cucumbers, handful of fresh blueberries with tzatziki sauce.
Tip... take it to the next level and add roughly chopped fresh mint leaves... amazing!
🇬🇷 bravo 👍nicely done greetings from Greece
My favourite salad is my mum’s side salad that I grew up eating most days. Iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, English cucumber and green bell peppers. That’s the ultimate salad in my eyes. No dressing needed! Adding feta takes it up a notch and makes it more of a complete meal.
I learned to eat Greek salad with pickled beets added to yours along with shredded lettuce, loved it. Stopped eating the beets, but may just try it again, even if it is only once in a long while.
The only Greek restaurant in town closed during Covid :( I miss the Greek salad the most
My favorite ❤️
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Greek food! Thanks for this one (and all the others also).
What Greek foods do you like
Looks wonderful ! Can’t wait to try it .
Got the stuff to make this tonight to go along with the chicken casserole! Can’t wait to eat it!
My mouth is watering!!
Lebanese Fattoush is by far my favorite salad. Similar to Greek, but an even brighter and fresher flavor in my opinion. Plus you get the crunch of fried pita. I'm sure there is a keto way around that!
Looks so good and thanks for the onion tip!!
Looks great
Just bought ground lamb, feta cheese, kalamata olives and tzatziki sauce to make my own b4 I seen this. Thank you Sahil !
Just made this - sooooooo friggginnnnnn goood!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙌🏾
I like a Cobb salad: iceberg lettuce, turkey, bacon or ham, and a boiled egg with blue cheese or light ranch dressing.
Loves it I watch full vedio and like also
I love a delicious Greek salad and yours looks delicious 😋🤤 🙂
Looks great, making this on the weekend. Hello to your family.
Thanks. Gonna give a try tomorrow.
Lol breaking the law. I actually heard that tune in my head. When you said that. 😀 The salad looked great.
Love this Greek salad definitely will try no vinegar will use lemon juice instead.. Thank you so much for sharing 👍👍
Made this tonight and it was 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾! Love you so much! 🤘🏾🖤
Looks delicious. I love it made my own rebellious way.
That looks really tasty. I'd throw in a few chopped walnuts and some basil.
Beutiful. Delicious. (I had no green peppers so I used jarred Pepperoncini). My recommendation for another salad recipe would be the "Mediterranean Fattoush Salad".
Cute! Your wife definitely likes salad!
Delish and fun!
So good! I put this in toasted pita to make a sandwich. Also, I enjoyed your Judas Priest song reproduction! 😂🤘🏻
I like Greek salat but never try it with tomato may be this will be my next favorit one.
I love ceasar salat with french dressing a little bit weird but delicious....
If anyone would like to eat Hummus, try to put in your blender/food processor 4 boiled eggs and 6 table spoons of tahini , lemon juice, salt pepper on taste, water (i use tiny bit), blend and walla :D
I'm not overly fussy. What's in the fridge? Chop it up, throw it in the bowl and add my favorite dressing. I don't purchase iceberg lettuce as it give me heartburn. But all the other greens?...yum-yum Tomato, cucumbers, carrots, mushrooms, avocado, any color of pepper, hard boiled eggs, deli meats, corn, peas, different types of beans, croutons, olives, different cheeses, seeds, nuts, broccoli, cauliflower...whatever is in the fridge and I think would taste good in that salad. My favorite salad dressings are oil and vinegar types with an occasional creamy type thrown in for a change of pace.
I love Greek salads!! Also Waldorf salad is amazing!!
Horns up 🤘
Looks like lunch ❤️ thank you!
Beautiful!
So good. I like to have it to0ed with grilled chicken breast. I like as tabouli salad and also avocado, cucumber, and tuna.
Yummy recipe, and loving your voice over as well! 👏
I love feta cheese and I am thinking of buying a Mad Millie Cheese Making Kit so I can make some feta & mozerella :) Thanks for this recipe, it looks delicious!
Sahil I came to your channel because you are different and a fellow Headbanger. I became a member and bought your cookbook because your recipes are amazing!
thank you so much!!
Cesar salad … it’s all about the dressing but it lends itself well to adding grilled meats.
Excellent! Thank you
Yummy. Thanks👍🏻🎉
That looks so good, and so easy!
I like mine with a big peace of lettuce 🤤
Yum
Looks Delish!
Looks delicious and perfect for summer….add a sliced chicken breast or fried Halloumi, and equally as good in the winter 😊😊…mmmm
Wow!! Looks delicious 😋
Need Russian Salad plzzzzz
Looks great thanks
Wow! What a rebel! But I won't snitch. ;-)
Delicious!
Thank you 😋
I like to use lemon juice mostly to avoid the extra calories of the olive oil
Hey Sahil, you forgot put potato salad on the bottom 😋😁👍
Yayy
Horns Up! Please can you enter me into the draw for your amazing cookbook, Oh Yeah!
I Greek food!
🌮 🥗 for myself. I try to keep it low cal most of the time but it’s nice to add in some crushed up Doritos as croutons for a treat.
Yes, you can get fat eating too many vegetables, because its the insulin that regulates fat storage, and obviously vegetables still have carbs, and carbs are what affect insulin. That's why Dr Westman only recommends one cups worth of vegetables that grow above the ground and two cups of leafy greens per day. Dr Westman has over 20 years of experience and followed on from Dr Atkins
What does this have anything to do with his greek salad recipe?
I always go 4:1 oil to vinegar. More fat = more calories. Apart from the feta there's not many calories in the rest of the dish.
Ah yes, The Greek Salad.
Or as we call it in Bulgaria: A salad.
rob halford would be proud
Something for when you don’t want a heavy meal or it’s just too hot to cook.
