    Yeah he does look young huh, noticed a lot of folk talking about that. This is one of the first clips i ever saw of him so it is an oldie. I only put it up because i couldnt find a clean copy of it online to sent to a friend. Iv got a fair bit of random funny clips like this from random shows , under rated or less known comedians that iv saved over the years, if it makes me laugh enough ill usually have a copy somewhere

      This was actually the first time i saw his stand up. I love this small 5min bit. Iv been to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival a couple of times, if you like this sort of thing i totally recommend going. You still get big names playing bigger venues but you come across new guys or bands just by chance because you cant walk into a cafe, bar, nightclub or any sort of place without some kind of show on. Loads of things are free, others are like £5 and you do get some a little more but nothing like the price you'd be paying for a ' normal ' gig/show. I remember one thing i went to see was basically a play and the story was a sort of war story and about family but the whole thing was done using kids toys instead of actors on a big stage. They made it work and made fun of the fact we could see there hand or the toys being out of proportion to the other props. Sounds weird but it was hilarious. If you like Steve Hughes i recommend you check out David O'Doherty. I do love his funny songs but unfornitually that tends to be all you can find on youtube and personally i find his stand up between songs to be the best part of his act by far. I've been lucky enough to see him twice, both times at the Fringe festival and the first time it was just pure luck i went, it was a show late at night and we wanted to see one last thing before heading back to the hotel and that year he the only person that i found to be even funnier than Hughes was Andrew lawrence, he was also someone we caught just by chance. Ill attach 2 link one of each guy for you to check out if you want to.

      ( again. finding his non music stuff isnt easy on youtube )
      Andrew - czcams.com/video/JAs0kXpKn_U/video.html
      Id bet, knowing you like Hughes that you'll like Andrew Lawrence more

    • @2259rich
      @2259rich  Před 7 lety +1

      Thats kinda what i just said in a crazy long couldn't explain what i meant comment. I was defending how all stand up act's will have some of the same material, its kinda the same as seeing a band live, they're gonna play some of the classics. But then i watched another clip and i kinda know where the guy i wrote back to was on about. Ill post you the same clip. The bit im referring to is near the first 7-12 minutes ish . I just dont think the way he changed it works like it does in the clip that i posted here and i also said its not less funny because iv already heard it before because where as in the newer video i just watched i didnt think that particular bit was as funny as before but if i was to re-watch the clip here that i posted it still makes me laugh. Its how he changed it up that made it less funny not because he does the exact same thing, if he did do that bit word for word then it would have been funnier even tho you'd know what/how hes gonna say the next word. Saying that you would think by changing it up that you could 'save' that part and reuse it but here its just the opposite . Check this link from the video i just watched myself
      czcams.com/video/ohogzxiqqkM/video.html
      But even though i kinda get where folk are coming from by saying 'this is old material' , obviously comedians are gonna redo some of their classics. We now live in a time where people will take videos from a live gig with their phone and for years now just in time for Christmas every comedian puts out a live dvd recording from that years tour. So you get loads of people posting the same 'jokes/stories because the first time you hear those kinda ones, the classics you want to share it and then when folk come on youtube and check someone out they end up seeing the same X amount of the same set parts but at different places and over the years. Again im so shit at explaining what i mean. Basically i hate how stupid folk can be when they say 'iv seen this bit before heaps of time' because i know if they were to sit and actually think of every single joke/story that they've heard from any Stand up and they wont come up with all that many if you were to time them all, then think of how long a proper live gig lasts for and how many different tours and years these guys have been on the go for. Common sense tells you if they only had the same 90-120 minutes of material then there's no way they'd be able to go on tour again n again and take out new dvd's ( well most folk prob stream things but u know what i mean ) because most stand up guys take out a new dvd every 2 maybe 3 years and i can name a load of folk who seem to take out one pretty much every year almost. God i ramble on lol. I either dont write or i write a frickin book length message lol. I actually found this clip i posted on an old drive of mine and i found quite a few really good clips and if you like Steve Hughes then you'll def like most of the ones i kept saved, i dont keep the ones that you see again n again same jokes just different times so chances are it'll be new to most folk. Ill put some up later. Sorry for the long reply btw lol planned on saying a couple of lines not a couple of pages. Check my channel in a couple days if you wana see some more cool videos. I dont have anything on my channel just now except this video and a couple photo montages that i put on so it was easier to share keep saved but they wont be interesting to anyone except for the people in them but i'll name my new clips as stand up or music or whatever

      Paul Thoresen I don't know, man, George Carlin did just fine changing it up. He seems successful to me

    • @Ocker3
      @Ocker3 Před 5 lety +1

      Carlin's skill was the product of a very specific set of circumstances. He wasn't that good, he ended up owing a Huge amount of money to the IRS, and to pay them back he wrote Huge amounts of material for new shows. The sheer volume of work made him a Lot better.
