If only the government would help out seniors instead of giving away billions to foreign countries. The US seems to always have plenty of money for other countries and rich people but never for the poor or seniors.

I think the bigger problem is the millions being spent to house, clothe and feed the millions of uninvited guests we took on recently.
Despite what a lot of Americans believe, we are NOT sending Ukraine a blank check for billions.
The only thing Ukraine has gotten in all of the aid packages so far is the obsolete hand-me-downs the US military has had in storage for 20 years .
Before the Ukraine war, US storage facilities were at capacity for old, obsolete military hardware..
The defense department had a huge tab for storage costs, plus they were accepting bids for dismantling and removing the equipment.
Since the war started, the US no liger has to pay huge storage fees for that stuff, nor do they have to pay for it to be hauled away.
Virtually every piece of aid Ukraine has gotten from the US since the start of the invasion has been in the form of obsolete tanks, obsolete Patriot batteries, obsolete artillery.
This is all equipment that was already bought and paid for decades ago.
This is all part of the Presidential Drawdown. What the US government is not going out of its way to tell US citizens, is that we put a dollar value on the outdated equipment we send to Ukraine We then take that amount out of the “Ukraine Aid” package to “pay ourselves back ‘.
So despite what many people want you to believe, if you actually look at the line items for Ukraine Aid you will see that of the $67B allocated to Ukraine Aid so far, $60B has gone to US government contractors here n the U.S. to pay for new equipment for us.
That comes out to new business for 71 US cities in 32 US states.
The fact that many US politicians are actively peddling the “blank check” lie shows how badly we need a wholesale brooming of the people we have in Washington.
If people would live below or even within their means and have a home paid off none of this would be an issue for most of them. When you enter retirement with a big mortgage and drive giant gas guzzling trucks and SUVs with loans on them, and then complain about money....... Not feeling sorry for them.
My guess is most folks with a big mortgage and a gas guzzling vehicle either weren't prudent or there was a financially or physically devastating occurrence in their life. Sad either way.
I like to give back to my community. We are approaching Winter here in Australia and there are over 800 homeless people in Toowoomba. I have decided to help many of these with beanies, scarves and gloves. When you help the least fortunate in your community, you uplift the entire community. I was homeless once and know how Winter feels in Toowoomba.
Have your house paid off.
Exercise. Try to eat healthy. Find ways to be active and involved.

Here is the reality check. We live from paycheck to paycheck and really don't have money for extras. We have no retirement account. I have no idea what is going to happen and I am scared. There is your reality check. I am sure I am not alone either.

“Delay SS benefits beyond 62” for “higher benefits down the line”; meanwhile “if there are future benefit cuts, they’d be applied to the higher benefit amount”. That sounds like horrible advice. And that is EXACTLY why I should file early. The government will wack a higher benefit to make SSI solvent, and once again those that save for future benefits take the hit, while those those don’t save are rewarded. The bizzaro government of the US.
I read that social security benefits will be reduced by about 20% before 2030. I don’t know how accurate that is but just passing on the info I read.
That is not exactly true. If the Republican push to raise the retirement age to 70 were to go into effect, then yes, the predicted impact on new retirees would be 20% cut. This would only effect new retirees as I understand it. In the next 7-10 days I will be publishing videos about Social Security topics like this. Please watch for them and thank you for the comment.
I did the paid version of Career Fitter and the results were very perceptive and accurate. It helped me understand how come I hated many of my previous jobs
Working for a boss is poisonous. You've got to try to work for yourself. When you're in your 40s you're approaching your use by date. And God forbid should you reach 50 it's all over Red Rover. Try and do something yourself even if it earns less monetary coin. When you buy an expensive car or home you're trapping yourself. The modern world is nasty. Self employment is the answer.
