Kind of happened to me. In my senior year of high school last year, I convinced the woman in charge of the PA system to play "The Final Countdown" over the intercom on the final day. Sadly, I didn't get to see it; they played it over the morning announcements rather than at the end of the day as I had hoped, and I had skipped the first half of the day to be at my little sister's elementary school graduation. But I would later get confirmation from a classmate who knew of my plan that the song did play during the morning announcements, so it wasn't so bad.

As a band kid myself, I feel it is my duty to show everyone in the band this video. Even though there’s no chance we can because of strict rules forbidding fun stuff like this, it’s still an act to be honored and looked up to for the rest of time.

The senior pranks at my HS involved toilet paper and shaving cream. This is better, disruptive but not destructive or leaving anything for the janitor to clean up.
The senior prank of my high school year involved just coming into class with stupid disguises and ended up with riot police called and 2 students detained lmao
What the hell? How does it go from funny disguises to riot police? How does it escalate that quick
@@jakfjfrgnei we were all gonna pull up to class with the disguises and funny clothes (and actually the plan was to behave properly), but due to the previous years' pranks being stuff like egging every classroom, admin didn't let us in. So what did a bunch of high schoolers do in front of the school? We just started partying on this massive sidewalk they have in front of schools, buying alcohol and shit from the grocery right in front of the school, and once in a while chanting to be let in.
After a while eggs were being thrown in the crowd, then some were thrown towards the school and then towards the principal who was basically 5 meters away from us. Also this was during Covid times, and we weren't locked down but we were definitely not supposed to be doing a close up public gathering of 150 people with many people underage drinking or smoking weed.
So then 2 cops pulled up and chatted with the principal, and then about 10 riot police with helmets (but not full gear) came to disperse us. They essentially told us not to gather in public, also a small group of us (where I was) ended up trapped between houses with police on both sides, who searched our bags before letting us go. 2 people were taken to the station - the one who threw eggs towards the principal and cops and one who tried going in the opposite direction the riot police were telling us, and pushed one to make way

Then eggs started flying towards the school wall. Then one towards the principal.
At that point, it probably was too much. It was also 2021 - Covid times, so the massive public gathering of young, underage drinking, and some weed smoking students was breaking many many laws. After narrowly missing an egg, the principal called cops, then at first 2 pulled up to see what the situation was. Then around 10 riot police, with helmets but not full gear, came to disperse us, telling us explicitly NOT to recrowd in public. A small group of us, where I was, also got trapped between 2 buildings with police on both sides, who searched all our bags before letting us out. One of the guys was blatantly blazed and definitely had some weed on him, but they didn't find it somehow. Awesome :) This is a trip down memory lane for me too, cause my strict girls private school had similar, where the band that was there to play hymes in the all school assembly one day played this instead & entire school cheered & screamed in excitement at it, staff didn't have a clue what to do lol in the end they allowed an encore & another encore cause it was the only way to regain control of the 1,500 screaming high schoolers. There's something really special about this song. No surprises it got the reaction it got in this video, fantastic :))

I used to be in School band and play trombone but now that I’ve graduated I still play trombone in community ensembles like Youth Orchestra, Jazz youth lab band and a performance program for solo music and chamber music. I also used to play in marching band in grade 9 (not grade 10 because of Covid) and grade 11 but left after that to join youth orchestra.

My band teacher got the school’s permission to let our band play meme music in the hallways during transition the sixty grade teachers were so triggered when I got to do a solo (I am first chair and everyone but my band teacher hates me) I did when mom isn’t home this is also first chair trumpet solo we did the solos to together
