    • @ZiggaBIZ
      @ZiggaBIZ Před 3 měsíci +2

      @soda8736 Congrats on being too dull to understand what's going on. DEI includes programs that allow athletes (a large majority of whom are black) to get admitted into schools that their grades may otherwise exclude them from. It also includes affirmative action. Its a way for the power structures who are already entrenched in their financial class to maintain their power by dismissing the very real barriers that black students (and other poor/marginalized people in general) have that make it harder for them to get into college in the first place. The whole point of these programs was to right historical injustices that Florida ADMITS obviously existed... now they claim those inequalities never existed. Blatant racism supported by racists & those (like yourself) too dull to realize what's going on.

    • @soda8736
      @soda8736 Před 3 měsíci +4

      @ZiggaBIZ i dont see anything on DEI not admitting black atheletes with less than grades. And if that were true, then so what? Why should any student, regardless of race, get special treatment?

    • @ZiggaBIZ
      @ZiggaBIZ Před 3 měsíci

      @soda8736 Think about what u just said.... wouldn't the wealthy and/or white students coming from financial backgrounds that make things like getting good grades, attendance & family support more likely... also have an unfair advantage compared to the kids who somehow have to get those same grades while wondering what they will eat today? While the support from their parents (who often didn't have the same opportunities their children have... & their parents even less oppurtunity) are either on drugs, at work or absent entirely? They are also getting special treatment by having those privledges.... that's the whole point. These programs addressed the special treatment that white/wealthy people historically got, that makes it so that they have such an easier time getting to college compared to black/poor people. That's the literal point. Making it more equitable. It's literally in the name (diversity equity and inclusion).... It's really not complicated. If you're upset that black students get "special treatment" by getting a chance to make something of their lives after a series of negative circumstances worked against them, the entire rest of it... then imagine how upset u should be that white folks have enjoyed special treatment for centuries & Florida is doing everything they can to keep it that way. Please stop falling for right-wing propaganda.

    This is larger than sports or even educational institutions. DEI is a nefarious institution that is wreaking havoc on the finance sector and the economy as a whole. It is not about promoting fairness and opportunities for minorities. It is about top-down control. For companies to obtain capital from large corporations and federal reserve banks, they must meet DEI standards. But when you look at what the standard requirements are they have very little to do with inclusion. It uses diversity as a cover for enabling a few corporations (like blackrock) to control virtually all of the capital injections in the economy.

  • @jthemag6257
    @jthemag6257 Před 3 měsíci +1

    The issue is not sports. Major Universities will always find and recruit the best talent.
    Where the problem starts is the opportunity of minorities that just want to be “a student”.
    Black, Latino, Asian that just want to have an opportunity to get an education are going to lose out with this bill being passed.
    Also, the “athletes” most likely won’t even be at the university long enough to receive a degree because their main reason for being there is to play sports and go to the next level as soon as possible.
    DEI makes organizations have to provide opportunity to everyone.
    Without it, that can “pick and choose” who they admit, hire, etc. “AND IT DOESNT HAVE TO BE ON THE GROUNDS OF MERIT.”
    It’s “CHOICE”.

    • @dclomg5
      @dclomg5 Před 3 měsíci

    Unfortunately, DEI is a double edge sword. It helps people like me and other minorities be considered for opportunities that normally wouldn't be provided, it aims to level the playing field. However, it also provides a crutch and another hurdle to jump over if you earn the opportunity off merit. Now it's your only in this position because of diversity rather than merit.
    With that being said, there are somethings that DEI doesn't need to be applied to, and that's sports. It's kinda hard to deny talent regardless of what color you are

      It’s about time that the black athletes need to consider the HBCU’s more. The only reason the schools recruit black athletes from the hood and the sticks is to make generational wealth off their backs. The Hall of Fame is full of players who didn’t go to D1 schools and there are plenty of D1 athletes who didn’t make it to the professional level.

    • @SCProdigy77
      @SCProdigy77 Před 3 měsíci

      @charleswilliams6758 I can't speak on the reasons a school recruits athletes or the economy of businesses like college, but at high school and above I've never played on a team that the best players weren't on the field or court. A football team alone has 55 players and on the low end I'd bet 30 of those are black athletes you X that by the at least 7 D1 colleges I know of off hand (could be more I'm not positive) and that's 210 athletes your taking Scholarships from. It might not effect the top 200 in the country but top 1,000 athletes kids go from a D1 possible NFL or league minimums to an average $50K a year job (most likely) Seems like a bad idea to sell that to kids. it's just my opinion, I've played with D1 athletes and was 100% not on their level and would be devastated having it taken from me if I was good enough at that age.

      @SCProdigy77 Před 3 měsíci

      @charleswilliams6758 and although kids can still make it at lesser schools most Draft picks in the 1st and 2nd even 3rd round are D1 athletes where they get more recognition and make more money for being drafted higher. It's just added pressure these kids shouldn't have to deal with.

I see it first hand with kids I coach, some parents will push there kids through a fire burning house if they can come out the other side and receive money. One mom and father told their son he doesn’t have a choice on where he goes… because whoever is the highest bidder will win his services.
