  • I visited my local Rebuild site, which is set up to take surplus materials from construction sites and put them to good use, and I found a piece of engineered oak flooring. www.rebuildsite.co.uk
The result is absolutely stunning! The bowl measures 7 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall (approx 190mm x 75mm).
Thank you very much for watching.

I've said this before, of all the woodturning channels I follow, YOURS is the closest to how I turn. So close in fact that you just did the project I have on my list. I recently upgradded the house, ripping out a lot of old hardwood. I have the old boards lined up and ready to go. You just beat me to it!!

That is awesome! I love the challenge of making a bowl from non traditional materials.

Very nice. I turned a plywood bowl once. “Never again”, but pieces like this make me think about it. Well done!

Thank you very much! The strips of oak really do make this a special bowl.

That sh#t can be tough as nails. The mallet I made proves that.

Love your turnings, followed you initially quite a while ago because you use the stuff just left lying around, pine lumber, flooring, etc. and always produce a beautiful product. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome, thank you! The challenge of using non traditional timbers is so much fun. 😀👍

@@RDMWoodturning I love to work with non-traditional woods. I have a love for Walnut, but next to that - Pine is my favourite.

I have a laser engraver, so I make the discs myself. They really do elevate the finished bowl. Thanks for watching. 😀👍
