This is too many strikes for Ashworth. I hope Ineos cut their losses and move on. Ashworth signed Tonali and had no clue that the player was under investigation for gambling charges. The man is a snake, he jumped ship from Brighton and now wants out of NUFC, what stinks is he told Berada he wants Man U move, Berada was still being paid by City when on gardening leave and NUFC had not had any approach for Ashworth hence he was still an NUFC employee at the time the email was sent, the man has no loyalty and the bigger the pay check offered to him is clearly his only priority,

Cashworth CAN be held on gardening leave (on full pay) for whole contract period, unless MU offer a sum NUFC chooooose to accept. NUFC have a strong hand, most MU folk dont seem to grasp.
I thought Dan Ashworth was best in class. Clearly not best at E-mails. What a mess. Should go for someone else. Will not get Ashworth for a long time. Newcastle will drag this out for as long as possible. This could take over a year to sort out. Have to go for a different option.

As a toon fan, I was under the impression Newcastle were happy to let him go AFTER the summer window and only wanted 20 million for him to join straight away. And the money does count towards PSR for both teams providing it's done or not done by a certain date, sometimes in June.

If Newcastle beat Dan Ashworth case it means they will be able to push Man Utd & Sir Jim Radcliffe & INEOS for the full compensation they want or wait till 4 years before they can sign him cause there is a clause that stops Ashworth signing for a rival for up till 4 years.

It's not illegal, it's maybe against PL rules. But employment rules against restricted business practices take precedent. We have already seen that with Bosman rules. If taken to actual court the rules against tapping up could be quashed as illegal themselves.

Newcastle are not in ANY box seat at all. Let me clarify something I've said many times, football is not special, basic rights will be applied by courts, same as I said with the ESL ruling, football ISNT special. You cannot prevent a person from working, you cannot prevent a person from leaving their job and changing their job, no matter how much you wish to do so because if that person goes to COURT you will lose. Because a COURT cant enable slavery and that's what it would be to allow a company to refuse to allow an employee to leave and change their job at any time, its a right ALL people have and football operates KNOWINGLY in a grey area that exists ONLY as long as they keep their houses in order and keep things out of courts. So, the idiocy of Newcastle in trying to force this is a lot more likely to wind up with a huge new blow to the football world when the COURT system is forced to rule and when it does that rule, like BOSMAN and others will become obligatory to football forever. Its sheer idiocy by Newcastle, if a man wants to leave the job irrespective of who he talks to, he can, like you, like me, like anyone else. He can and you CANNOT stop him, why you would even be dumb enough to try ill never know. If a person wants to leave, LET THEM GO, end of debate, move on and all this is going to do is cause repercussions for football overall. If this was to reach COURT a court would rule that a person has the right to change their job period and cant be stopped from doing so, end of debate because that is the free right of ALL workers. If that happens it would not only have an impact on football NON playing jobs, but it would effectively screw over the whole football player contract system as well because the law would apply to ALL contracts a club makes with employees and there would be no going back from there. Be careful what you wish for, football cant afford for a case like this to reach a non football court. Try to understand a NON football court cannot and will not make an exception, it will apply EMPLOYMENT LAW to this, and EMPLOYMENT rights and that means the same rights you all have, the right to leave your bloody job whenever you wish, the right to speak to any em0loyer you wish and then leave. If it goes to a non football court, football is going to be faced with MAJOR contract changes forever. Once a court rules, its done, precedent is set and you wont be able to go back, all clubs and contracts then have to come in line, tapping up ceases to be illegal, players and people can leave as they wish. Careful where you tread with this, clubs have to understand that just because they want to punish him, he is a still a person with basic rights as an employee and if you force him to go get them in court, you will lose.
