For the opener: Gargoyle and Dark Transformation should be used together, ideally in a macro. Sorry about the confusion!

Hey, i wanted to tell you that im SUPER NEW to dk ,
i leveled up as blood to get faster q and was planning to play unholy/blood in m+
i was having a blast playing blood and was so fun, when i switched to unholy it was sooo messy and i didnt know what to press, eveytime i was the bottom of the bottom even the healer did more dps than me, i looked in videos but none helped me and explain the rotation like you did.
i was truly going to delete this char but before i did i searched for guide what to do for the last time, and i got into your video
im happy to tell you that after i watched the video, i practiced on the rotation and now im doing well and im sooooo happy with the class im having so much fun now

TYVM, My thoughts I have dragonflight just got it not sure what version . what IU is that? I Use ELVUI which seems to greatly limit my action bars- I have like 4 short ones at the bottom and two on the right. There are others but not sure what they do I cant add to them. I like yours
I greatly appreciate the help, just based on some advice you offer, my DPS is way up. Last night I was SECOND TO LAST instead of LAST in the raid- BEST EVER for me! Maybe I wont get kicked out as much ? I used to just mainly use festering strike and critical strike as they come up back to back and press others at random. I was a warrior class and was used to just hammering with my 2 one hand weapons (now I only have one two-hand). I never knew DK was so much different so I just kept that up no wonder I have no DPS?
I dont see some of these in my talent tree esp scourge strike. Ill look in more details doesnt look familiar are they all unholy? That's what my L63 is
I dont understand runes and you covered it very fast (little "death score circular thingies"? I dunno what that means). where do you get them? AH? I filtered in the AH for DK runes and the list was very short, and they were very expensive. Which are best for DK? How are they different from TRINKET? Do I install them on a action bar and press them?
wHAT Is that action bar you have where items scroll left to right? Never saw that... looks handy
whats the diff between buff and debuff?
I notice on my screen that icons like "Death coil" are sometimes hightighted with like a moving dash outline. What does that mean? How come other icons that recharge do not have that border?
I have one called like "army" that brings up an army of attackers but virulent or soul reaper or I dont think I have. Shouldnt that be in the rotation ?
Thanks for the guide, I've been struggling a bit, so many CDs :). I guess one thing in AoE situations I might have misunderstood is Festering Wounds and Defile. Since it said in the tooltip (when talented) Scourge Strike would hit multiple targets inside Defile, I needed to also keep that up, maybe even multiple targets, since I assume that bursting festering wounds would also give AoE dmg. So in AoE you only use festering wounds when apocalypse is up, and that's it ? You don't keep it active through Festering Strike at all ? Or you let that be done by your Ghoul (that 30% chance) ? Since in AoE situations I see 0 Festering Strikes being used.
You only Festering Strike when you start to run out of defile charges, otherwise you rely on passive woj d generation

Sheeesh, first time back in wow in a couple years so I’ve forgotten most of my rotations, gives me a headache lol
I've just started unholy about a week ago. This video is super helpful! I've been using Hekili to help me with the rotation but this video deff helps explain WHY i'm doing the things in said rotation. I'm curious to know if you think Hekili is a good way to learn to play unholy or if it misses the mark. Appreciate the video!

I’ve no idea if you will see this or if anyone in the comments will reply, but I’m just returning to the game and am playing this class off a level boost (I know I’m a scrub lol) but! I get the core rotation and struggle with the cooldowns.
I really really like your weak auras set up and downloaded the most downloaded DK weak aura already, but I LOVE the way you have yours set up.
Im just completely new to setting the auras up and how to do things like that. The way you have them pop up when you need to press them is what I REALLY need.
How do I go about doing that?

Around 4% buff which is nice, also makes the Defile build less in front compared to the default one!

Shows blizz is watching and listening tho! They did nerf Aug quite a bit so maybe we can actually get more buffs now w/o being broken
It's crazy how the spec with the most cds has 2 core rotations you have to juggle st and aoe are completely different buttons on top of a crap load of cds and buff/dot uptime. I feel like you need a razor 18 button mouse and a crap ton of add-ons in order to manage the spec 100%. Otherwise you end up being that person who stares at his bars and buffs trying to juggle everything and end up standing in fire and dieing....meanwhile frost is like a 4 button rotation lol
it is a lot to take in at first, but the cd windows kind of become second nature after some practice. Just playing a quick intricate tune on the piano every 3 minutes that is super satisfying once you have finally learned it. while the in-between-cd's rotation is pretty straight forward
@@stebansan agreed. Back when I knew the rotation in SL it was satisfying asf to hit everything perfectly. Also doesn’t hurt to be in the top 5 or so in dps when you time everything right
Hopefully, I didn't miss it, but if you are running to a pack in mythic plus is one festering strike enough to get the benefit from the the 2- p tier with apoc?

Hello, should i prioritise clawing shadows over death coil after the opener? I know that we buff Gary with death coils but my dps falls compared to other UDKs in the raid.

You sacrifice too much AoE when taking it in M+
Could I just put all CDs in one macro? Since I'm using them all on pull anyways, and that way I could just use the macro every 45 secs?
Tried to macro the CD's in the time sequence you showed, and for they dont all go off for some reason.
was wondering about the apoc in M+ rotation. is it not as important to have 4 stack before apoc when its aoe?

you mention both “soul reaper” and “summon gargoyle” in this, but when i import either the disease or wounds build from IV/WH, neither are specced into. Am I missing something?
This is aimed towards raid single target. Mythic+ single target is just the core rotation really
does 126k with cds seem ok for 439 ivl>? i find the bust is decent but when i'm rotating back around to my next Gargoyle my dps tanks to like 50-55k . Im staggering the DT and UA like you showed also.
Hard to say, your DPS will start out high and drop. If you're not doing good damage your burst is probably not quite right
Do you think it could be not having an on use trinket? Or low mastery only got 51%

how is uh dk now? they got buffed recently, but does it really change much? heared they are still really bad for raids and just in the middle of the pac in m+
They're fine, won't be among the better specs in the raid but also won't be the worst. Middle of the pack in M+ yeah
Hey Biceps - was wondering, is AOD not a priority at all in the M+ Disease build?
I'd say it's one of those run-dependent cooldowns. If you're pulling a boss every 4 minutes, save it for the bosses, otherwise, just use it whenever you have a priority target that needs to die ASAP. It's basically a single-target nuke, so it's not as valuable in AoE. If you're in a lower-end group, then save it exclusively for bosses.

Wounds build viable in sub-25 pug keys when ;_; Blizz need to figure out how to make it playable without making its damage spiral out of control

I assume that's for M+ where we don't run gargoyle at all

Nope, scourge strike cleaving is just a lot better

Mostly, but obviously without the gargoyle. You're still going to want to send UA and potion with your Army though since it will still be a huge chunk of your damage.
Much easier compared to raid since the overlap doesn't matter as much. Use Army and then just send all your CDs! Unholy Assault before Apoc
ST Boss in M+, do you follow the same rotation as ST in raid or M+ AoE?
Follow ST one, it's much easier compared to raid since you have much fewer cooldowns to deal with.

Is there any working macro to pop everything big? Apocalypse/Army of Dead/Emporered Weapon/Dark Transformation? I need Apoc needs 4 wounds but just get 4 stacks then I wanna spam 1 big button to summon everything can that work? Would save me so much hassle hahah
Yes, there is a macro: play another class then.

You can macro unholy assault with empower rune weapon and gargoyle with Dark transformation
@@lucasl4433 The problem I have with most classes in WoW is they have even more buttons than an UH DK but ill just use GSE again everything always works in there no matter how crazy ur macro

So what are we looking at for Raid ST (optimal not fun wise). Unholy default, unholy defile, frost dw obli, frost dw bos, frost 2h obli?
It's likely to be a mix. Breath is likely to be strong, otherwise unholy default. Defile on some fights
Why do you show summon gargoyle when the talents you say you should use in mythic dont have it specced?

Can the opener be put into a macro or two?
You'd use two macros:
1. Garg + DT + Pot
2. UA + ERW + Triniet
Not much of a 'beginner' conversation if you are talking to characters that are already at end-game (70). What about a beginner that starts at level 10?!? Need to know how to be efficient at levels 36, 59, 65, etc.
How are we looking in M+ so far?
They are okay. UH does well with massive pulls but most pug tanks don't do huge pulls anyway.

Well they did nerf everyone's tier, shadowflame patch got nerfed as well this is to make sure that we pick up the new tier.
So no one will see true class potential till we all get some gear

They nerfed Army and Garg (along with PI and Augie Doggies), but seriously buffed the core rotational abilities and the 45s CDs. UH is better in a vacuum and in PuGs, along with a massive buff to AoE.

Frost was way better then unholy in season 2. It’s about time unholy gets a buff.
@@Dumbass_mtb Are we in season 2? Im talking about letting one of the spec in bad place while buffing other, I didnt like it in s2 and I dont like it now. One will always be stronger, but I dont see the logic in buffing only one when the two arent good
Frost is better than unholy as of now for this tier(10.2 season 3)
