Ordered these a while ago as my first goggles and they're currently making the long trip from China to Ireland. Great to hear such a positive review of them! Can't wait to use them.
And tadayyyyyy, they are back in stock finally. Picked up a pair and everything to get into FPV racing from absolutely nothing to everything I need, all because of your videos! I'll be sure to post a video of the whole process once I get up and flying. Thanks a million.
I have a set of the Quanum Cyclops V2. They are little more expensive and don't include a battery (they will run on a regular lipo). The screen is a better resolution (800x480) and has a slider for the lens. They are longer and heavier so can press on your nose a little if you don't have the top strap set up right. The battery sits at the back of your head though. They handle 16:9 and 4:3. They have sockets for analogue input and output. A big plus for me though is that I can wear the Cyclops over my glasses. It would be cool to see Stew review the Cyclops but in the meantime I'm happy to answer any questions.
Jimster71 Love my v2s, but I do wish they had put the buttons somewhere else or made them less sensitive because it's too easy to mess up your settings when handling the goggles, especially when I let someone else use them. Nice improvements over the V1, which were my first goggles.
Anyone know the difference between the VR-007 and the VR-007 Pro ? I know the original VR-007 used a 2S battery but I don't see any other difference.- Great review as always, be sure to let people know they are NOT for people that wear glasses - Glasses won't fit inside. .
was literally watching the dys motor video and see this one pop up. I own these and I absolutely love them. i switched out the antenna for a foxeer circular antenna and it works alotttt better.
Nice review and I agree that these are excellent goggles for newbies. Just a quick tip for us old farts (but young at heart) like myself and Trev. I found that switching the format to 4:3 (via the menu) really helped get rid of most of the blurriness for me. Also, the fairly large foam mounting lets you fit a small-med pair of glasses if necessary.
How would these work with your under $300 set up build? Would the set up be any different? Need a different receiver on the drone? (Total noob here, just been inspired by your videos to try one out)
Eachine is offering a really great package deal for it's money, definitely worth a look considering it's price right now at banggood, you get right now 30% discount!: sites.google.com/site/banggood50/
Just a quick correction to your comment about linear antennas being okay for quads but not goggles - it's very important that whatever style of antenna you choose is the same on both the tx and rx end. If you mix a linear at one end and a circular polarized at the other (like you inferred) you take an immediate and significant signal strength hit (3db).
cragonaut is correct though. Even if you don't experience an issue, you do get better antenna performance with matched polarization. It's worth a mention just in case someone does have trouble at longer ranges to match the polarity if it isn't.
Good to hear. I'll just leave this link in case others want to understand CP a little more: rcexplorer.se/projects/2011/08/circular-polarization-explained/
I get if it didn't make a differnce to you, but in the video, you made it sound like you'll get better results running a CP and linear antenna combination, which is just not true.
what you say is true, BUT, with a linear antenna on both ends you loose much more than 3db if the antennas are not pointing in the same direction, worst case 90 degrees = lost signal. so i wouldnt recommend using linear dipoles on both ends with out diversity on the recieving end. (even dual diversity isnt ideal, you would need triple diversity) with a clover on the googles you get omnidirectional reception with -3db, so it doesnt matter where your quad is pointing. and on the micro and ultra-micro quads the weightreduction of a little dipole often warrants the -3db hit you take ,you wont fly those micros out as far as a full size anyway
I got these for a cheap set of ride along goggles because I always get kids coming up to me interested in what I'm doing when I'm flying and these are really not to bad for the money. If they had a focus slider, that would really help because they are a bit hard on some peoples eyes but they really are a good deal and well worth the money if you need a cheap set of goggles.
I can only agree, great budget goggles to get started or as 2nd set to let someone ride shotgun. I just put together 2 beginner fpv-sets for two opf my friends and those included the old version vr007. They are having a blast !!! 2x the following: Eachine 90GT PNP FlySky FS-i6x /w X6B receiver Eachine VR007 3x Zippy compact 2S 500 mAh Battery B6AC charger 10p KingKong 1935 props Skyzone 5.8GHz RHCP 4 Leaf FPV Antenna all in all under 200 bucks per set and including everything you need to start FPV
I used these for a year or more as my first goggles and still have them now they still work great and I gave them to my girlfriend and we use them as a spectator unit for my son and other peopke
I bought a pair of these on a budget when I built my Martian 220. I can attest to how great these are for the price. No issues on my end, and the battery life on the battery is also pretty decent. I would recommend!
I have the eachine 007 and they are so light on your face and I didn't have a problem with focus. I prefered them over the tiny window you get in fatshark
I have a set of the original 007. I liked them. I have old eyes and it was kinda blurry. I bought a pair of reading glasses with thin wire frames(real cheap ones from the dollar store). They fit just fine and it makes all the difference. I have upgraded to FS, but I keep them around for fly alongs. They are really cool, especially for the money.
On the orignal 007 not the pro. it comes with a 2s 1800mah battery and you can use the fat shark one as well i paid 60 here in the states b its been the best headset since the kylins burned out on me.
The aomway ants work great on these goggles made a big diff for me. My little qx95 would only get about 50 meters away before the stock ant would start cutting out, with the aomway I was able to get around 150 meters before it would start cutting.
When the 007 were first released the resolution was pretty crappie. I'm not sure if they fixed that or not, but it was only like 240 lines. I'm surprised you would make a review video on goggles and not mention the resolution.
I have a feeling eachine is going to come out with something amazing this year they are really stepping up their game. perfect ride along pair. going to order a pair to take strangers and police for a ride (: good stuff Stew
gday downunda.i had to install a magnified lens lens and a eachine pro dvr.better antenna very easy mods.cheap fpv. i am just as happy to fly line of site.when my acro skills improve i will need better gear for sure.
I got these today in my hands. Unfortunately I'm still waitin for the vtx and cam to arive. What I didn't like is that my eyes have to steer up to see the center of the screen. This will be tough for my eyes I think... I have to put my nose in, to center the vision... But then the image gets morphed a bit.. Maybe I'll mod it to fit my needs.. Dont know if all box style googles are like this? I liked that they are realy compact and light. Compared to other box style googles I think those are the smallest. They even fit well on my 7 year old sons head. So they won't be useless when I upgrade in somethin better.
I need Stew to reply to this one as well. My ev800s have just reached Hong Kong international airport. I purchased them 2 days before he made this video. How do they compare?
I wish there was some footage from you flying with them on a tripod recording from a runcam or something. I might have to try these out... first, I'll review all of your goggle reviews first. Thank you!
Might sound dumb but how do the goggles connect to the drone itself? if it is another antenna does it come with the goggles or is it a part bought separate?
What would your budget suggestion be for FPV goggles that include diversity? The Goggles 2 is what I have but I'm helping a friend get into FPV (he's a fellow amateur radio geek as well so antennas/diversity are big for him) and I want to make sure I'm steering him right. I love my goggles, but want to help him cut the budget as much as possible.
Todaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy 😅😅 you crack me up:) I got the v008 by Eachine and another one I can't remember the name, but is a diversity version, and they work just fine for me. I would love a pair of fatsharks, but being new to the hobby, these worked rather nicely. nice vid as always sir👍
You mention the goggles lack the ability to move the screen out to aid focus (for old fart eyes like mine), would the introduction of another layer of (face) foam be sufficient to get better focus? Or are we talking movement of more than 4-5cm?
I'd rather spend a bit more and get the Eachine EV800 googles. Higher resolution, larger screen, easier menu, AV in, and removable front for open viewing.
So should I get these or the Eachine goggles 2? I'm very new and on a real tight budget, but I also want to have the best experience possible and have as much range as I can
+UAVFutures. can you review a couple of the different Pagoda antenna offerings? from what I've heard, they're a step above the the triumph/aomway/etc circular polarized clovers that are the current top of the line.

I have a pair of these 007’s, I’d like to get something smaller for easier travel, are the eachine ev100’s worth the $120? I used to have Fatshark Teleporter V2’s and seem they are similar to those which I was fine with those.
so, I'm building a quad for my cousin. She's been flying my quad FPV with me for a while... Do you think that these and the Turningy Evolution transmitter/reciver is a good first setup?
Is it possible to wear glasses with these? I'm old and my eyes are terrible, I can't see spit without my glasses. If these won't work with glasses do you have a recommendation for a pair that do work with glasses?
Eachine vr - 007 pro link - bit.ly/2nSROkX pretty crazy what you can get now days for $45. Happy flying
What antenna did you add to it? great video btw
UAVfutures yeah, can u link the antenna? Do you also use the same antenna for tranmitting, or sth else?
It's a TBS Triumph, the normal "not short" version
Frederik Vancoillie but with the short ones you get less signal loss
He asked what antenna was used, not which one was better, that's a whole other story, we better involve Joshua Bardwell for that one. :)
Ordered these a while ago as my first goggles and they're currently making the long trip from China to Ireland. Great to hear such a positive review of them! Can't wait to use them.

These days cheap doesnt mean bad anymore😉
its awesome
Yes i have the vr008 and that one is great aswell☺ i'am gonna add a dvr tho
Just like the flysky radios. I love my i6X its sexy and does the job for a reasonable price

Jimster71 What battery are you using for yours?
What antenna would you recommend fro HK that would suit the Cyclope as I see the recommend dump it?
How does this guy only have 82k subs??? Hands down my favourite drone/ FPV channel .. keep it up!!!

I'm really like to hear what Trev is saying about to reviewing things! it's really cool to know his opinion! he is a cool bonus for the channel

MELEGO351 another noob with the same question here!
would work exactly the same, set the channel and band to the same on both your vtx and rx and your good to go!
Anyone have luck with swapping these with the 300$ build?
get a mic cover for your cam. I love your vids buy when your in the field and it's windy it's kinda hard to hear yea over the wind. lol
I know I know. Trust me I hate it more than anyone else.
catastrophic fpv content outways the wind
UAVfutures just a spot of fluff and ca glue. less than 1 dollar

A buddy I fly with has the 007's and the little orange $10 dvr from banggood tapped into it, really nice for a $65 dvr goggle...

Nice! 40 bucks now! Just bought these, and parts for the 99dollar FPV drone. Awesome work you are doing. Keep it up!

how does the range work with these fpv goggles? what is the range with this one?
2 inches.

antennas are of of the most important things you can buy.
And you should already have half a dozen antennas laying around anyway =P
@@C4pn.K1rk I don't=(
@@UAVfutures food?
@@oldhandsanitizer6990 you can just use the stock antenna
I love how more accessible this hobby is getting!
Hey stew. I've built my $99 beast now I need some goggles. I've been waiting for a good review on the V640 fpv goggles. Thanks for the help
just ordered these to let my kids/friends ride along with me!
you need some Grumpy Trev stickers..... ;)
great review! great info!
Is that the best in 2019?
For someone jumping in, after watching your $300 video would you recommend the JJPRO F01($79) or these Eachine VR007 Pro w/TBS TRIUMPH RPSMA($86)?
Grumpy Trev... my arse. He must be feeling happier since sitting on his arse in a paddock flying quads around haha
Stew, What about the EV800's. You should so do a review on them!!!
When the 007 were first released the resolution was pretty crappie. I'm not sure if they fixed that or not, but it was only like 240 lines.
I'm surprised you would make a review video on goggles and not mention the resolution.
DO NOT BUY THE REGULAR VR-007 (non PRO) . You can not tell what frequency you receive and the autoscan picks up wrong frequency often
Hey Stu, how do they compare with the Quanum Cyclops V1 ($55 AUS) or V2 ($77 AUS), which are 5”, 800 X 480
bit of fluffy side velcro on the mics might help with wind noise
I had these on my wishlist in banggood for starter goggles for me. Definitely getting them. Thanks for the review
are they good?
how do they feel?
can u see well?
Thinking about getting a pair of these as passenger goggles.
Feeling better if grumpy trev likes em!!!
Man every day i love eachine even more
Need a big sock on an external mic for you I think, bro!
Thanks for this review. I bought them, for indoor flying they are excellent.
I have a feeling eachine is going to come out with something amazing this year they are really stepping up their game. perfect ride along pair. going to order a pair to take strangers and police for a ride (: good stuff Stew
Been thinking about snagging a pair for my kid. He is wanting to get into FPV
Ok I purchased these to give it a try along with the wizard and the Evolution Control system. For a old guy I hope this works out.
So against the original Cyclops ($49) .. what do you think?
Love your videos but would u have these goggles or the one in your $300 build
Bought the eachine vr007 last summer to start with. I still use it :P
Have them and love them, will be great to hear what you think Stew!
Test out the quantum cyclops goggles from hobby king there 50 Aussie dollars and really good for the money

Would you recommend these over the eachine ev800s that are 10 bucks more?
Brandon Dotson
the EV800 should have a higher resolution, and the battery is built into the main headset. Less combersome that way I think.
I need Stew to reply to this one as well. My ev800s have just reached Hong Kong international airport. I purchased them 2 days before he made this video. How do they compare?
They're great quality goggles with a great resolution
I wish there was some footage from you flying with them on a tripod recording from a runcam or something. I might have to try these out... first, I'll review all of your goggle reviews first. Thank you!
Does somebody know if the vr-008s are better than the 007s because they are the same price?
Wich ones are better : these ones or the jjpro F01?
G'daaaaaaaaaaay, little question: Why are the colors of the props of the drone in the bottom row in your background different from each other? lol :P
a really good antenna to use is the days clover leaf of banggood
How is the EV800 compared to the 007?
thanks for the review, I have also seen the vr800s around, and am comparing between the two. Would it be possible for you to review those as well?
These look great to might buy these !! Thanks for the review !!
Better than kylin visions? I have the kylins and I love them.... Hmmm
Might sound dumb but how do the goggles connect to the drone itself? if it is another antenna does it come with the goggles or is it a part bought separate?
I add a eachine pro dvr to my eachine vr007 (not pro) and it works really well
Hay Stu how dose something like this compare to something like low end fat shark teleporter?
What would your budget suggestion be for FPV goggles that include diversity? The Goggles 2 is what I have but I'm helping a friend get into FPV (he's a fellow amateur radio geek as well so antennas/diversity are big for him) and I want to make sure I'm steering him right. The new VR D2s Pro are actually pretty great and quite complete
Is the jump in screen resolution very noticeable?
Mitchell Wong Ho I guess it should be a bit, but the added functionality is the jump for me
But they are 480x272 resolution! Is it enough?

Stew, just got turned on to your channel! love the vids my friend! happy flying
I keep seeing lots of gear in and around your "pilot" area. What sorts of things do you bring with you to improve your flights?

Thank you! Been awhile anything else to consider for super budget conscience ppl?
Got a question stew do you think you will make the change to the aomways or stay with fat sharks?
I own the non-Pro version of these goggles. Still no idea where is the difference.
Probably stupid question but I have Sky01 goggles and I'm kinda disliking them after using them for a year. Would these be an upgrade?
So which one would you recommend more?
The eachine one or the Quanum Cyclops which is also around this price?
so, I'm building a quad for my cousin. She's been flying my quad FPV with me for a while... Do you think that these and the Turningy Evolution transmitter/reciver is a good first setup?
do you reckon they would be good for a spectator pair? great video
yep, great
These goggles will be great to take new people on rides. And give them taste of FPV :)
Did you say you would link the antenas in the discription?
Love your vids but you need to do something for the wind hitting your mic when you shoot outdoor, bad sound is just ruining it...
are you gonna review the vr d2 pro?
Wow I think I'm going to get them for my nephew
Is it possible to wear glasses with these? I'm old and my eyes are terrible, I can't see spit without my glasses. If these won't work with glasses do you have a recommendation for a pair that do work with glasses?
What about people with nearsightedness? Will these work without glasses ok?
