I'm interested to see how it stacks up to the Nokta lineup.

I am pretty sure it will find everything a legend will hit.

@@thecoinmagician Yes, but at what cost? You can buy a Legend Pro Pack for $765.00 currently that includes 2 coils, Wireless Headphones, spare battery pack and an Accupoint pinpointer. You’d be well over $1k to do that with a VX9. I think Garrent missed the target bug time, and some are saying Garrett is making changes to their software after the intital debut becuase of widespread criticsi of missing some setting features.
I’m not convinced that the Vortex won’t be any better than a Nokta Triple Score or Minelab Xterre Elite based both of which far undercut the VX9 price pointr. But once Garrett finally decids to ship their final product out, we’ll then see the real head-to-head comparison by the reputable reviewers who are Garret hand-picked testors with disclosure retrictions placed upon them. I was hopeful of this release, but as you can tell my disappointment has turned into a bit of being irritated with Garrett.

All the pseudo metal detecting heroes voicing their pointless opinions about something they haven't used, it happens every time a machine is released

I think for now people are just comparing the listed features with machines in the same price range like the nokta Legend, Triple Score, etc. Here in the US if nothing else we are Consumers and before dropping $500 on a new metal detector we want to do our deligence making sure we are getting the best bang for our buck. Ive seen a few select vids about the vortex that are so vague in nature, no unmasking tests in iron infested sites, no deep finds, etc. Its early yet but I will be watching for when some pros get their hands on it for some unbiased examinations.

Quite agree, with your comments,. To be honest I can't see garrett beating the big boys, but its going to be an interesting couple of weeks!

Hard pass for me, I’ll stick with Minelab but good video

Manticore has done well for me , it's super fast.
Can't see these new minelabs lasting many years before failing though , the build quality leaves much to be desired.

Yeah the 600 and 800 were shaky but the rest of the Minelab detectors are built like tanks
