    Clough's interview was never minuted! That's how bent the FA were. He was the right man for the job and had no competition at all. They were scared of him.

    • @kailashpatel1706
      @kailashpatel1706 Před rokem +4

      The reason it was not minuted in my view is because they did not like Clough's politics (he was a left wing Socialist)..If Clough had got the job and brought his team with in late 1977 (Peter Taylor, Maurice Edwards and Jimmy Gordon), he would have built a team for the 1982 WC that would have had tournament winning potential..

    What a manager, what a personality, what a man.
    Shed a tear when this guy passed.
    If only he and Peter Taylor could have fixed their differences, the limits were endless with that pair together.
    Never be another like Clough ❤

    " what do you do if a player comes to you and doesn't agree with you? "
    " well we sit down, have a talk about it for about 20 minutes, and decide i was right. "
    Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. He should have managed England. The biggest mistake the FA ever made. Mind you, I think he would have missed the day to day work with the players etc. Especially if he'd got it before he took over at Forest, or in the early 1980's.

    I've never seen this before I had no time for Clough for what he did at Leeds but watching this Clough comes across like a split personality When you hear him listening to this he talks a lot of sense and has some great values on life He sounds a intelligent ,humourous and well balanced human being He is very self aware ,but when he lets his ego get's the better of him he's his own worse enemy at times . I think Taylor was key to the partnership If Clough had come to Leeds with Taylor it may have been different but he didn't He came upset everyone and that was it

    • @tweedlio2763

      For what he did at Leeds?!
      He took Forest from Div.2 to European champions. Imagine what he could have done with the current champions if those morons wouldn't have sacked him after 44 days.

      @@johnajohnson4216 Firstly, Morons was directed at the board who sacked him.
      Secondly, he won 2 league's an FA Cup & league cup. Clough won 2 league's, 2 european cups, a euro super cup & about 4-5 league cups, thats after taking them over bottom of second division.
      My point is, imagine what he could have done with a team that was already at the top.
      You think what you like, people say imagine if he managed England. Not many think of the Leeds possibility.
      Best manager you never had!!

      @johnajohnson4216 Před 8 měsíci

      @@tweedlio2763 Ok! Sorry i thought it was directed at the team Iknow Forest did well under Clough I would argue Leeds did it there was more quality opposition After 75 That was teh start of leagues being dominated by two or three teams who had any realistic chance of winning the league .Would you as a player want to play for a manager who told you too throw your medals in the bin ? If Taylor had come with him there could have been a chance .I think Taylor is the buffer If players are unhappy the would go to Taylor .Clough would have stood up to the FA which would have been good to challenge those useless bar stewards but i think he would have struggled with the team . It would be a class of ego's with some players Clough and Taylor were good at getting young or average players and get the best out of them Similar To Bielsa when we got promoted last time I think Clough would have struggled with some seasoned pros with Ego's the size of his But we'' never know
