Yep, one of my favourites. Cold Chisel ballads are the best. I suggest "Sing to me" for another one. That was Mossy singing the early verses, Jimmy came in at the end.
I love love love this song. This and Saturday Night are two of my favourites.... small little song that is just an ear worm that lives in my head....
Yep, @kazz3956 beat me to it. Many thanks for the bonus track. You might also want to check out the live version. As always Cold Chisel is always best served live. Can't wait for Novembers concert. Been 40 years since I've seen them live!
Great song and great reaction 😊 also if you want to see Jimmy mind blowing singing then you have to react to “a change is gonna come” I think at the time he was singing it he would have had to be rated best singer in the world 🌍
This is one of my favourite Chisel songs too. Start with Mossy and end with Jimmy belting, it's just great. There is a song of their first self titled album called Rosaline, Mossy sings it with his sweet soulful voice it's just beautiful. Been watching your videos for a while only just subbed - sorry, lazy. Great stuff,Thanks mate.
Just another brilliant piece of writing from Don Walker.
Off the '20th Century' album released after they broke up, it is a really underrated album and this song is an absolute peach.
1:12 At the beginning Ian Moss is singing.
2:12 harmonising with Jimmy, who is the higher vocals
3:14 This is Jimmy ❤
3:31 Harmonising again
3:56 Jimmy until the end 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I had thought they had sung this at the Ringside concert in 2003. I’ll have to go and look.
This song cannot but help bring a tear to the eye of anyone who's missing a girl, though I think Don Walker wrote this about his daughter. Painted Doll from the same album is just as bittersweet, though more up tempo. Plaza Hotel is another fave. Breakfast at Sweethearts, Misfits, you could just go on and on.
Ian starts this song, but Jimmy is very versatile and better than most of his fans realise.
He has at least 4 DIFFERENT singing voices with there own style and sound.
His gravel crunching rock belt, pure, clean, sweet, soft pop/ rock voice, his backing voice ( very high ) that many liken to Aretha Franklin , and then when he mixes them together to create a different sound / style .
Its Magic ,Is,nt it
There is NO best Cold Chisel song, mate. Try mine, no funds needed from me, Dresden Blues from their second album. You know, those licorice pizzas that Chisel only released five of... BTW, you should pay for your music that you react to, instead of asking fools to pay you for your adolescent opinion. Also, Chisel are the reason Queen will always be laughed at in Australia. Pompous gits with science degrees...(a bit like Don Walker?) Hahaha, May, B. will never let you forget.
No need to be rude
