Privateer 1 and 2, along with the Wing Command 1 through 4 series, were some of the very best games produced in the 90s. EA pushing Origin Systems into online only games in 1996 was one of the, if not the, worst decisions for pc gaming in the 90s. Great to see people sharing this game on CZcams.
I've never tried them, but there are the fan-made Privateer Remake and Privateer Gemini Gold, they're a bit old projects though… while TIE Fighter got a total conversion more recently, based on the X-Wing Alliance engine. Maybe in the future they will make official remakes or remasters… I wouldn’t bet on it, but never say never (see the Dark Forces remaster recently, although for an fps it’s easier in today’s market).

I was on team tie fighter back then but these still need a modern remaster.
