The remix and the original set out to do very different things and did em spectacularly imo
It's just that the remix is more _palatable_ to the heavier original

The original song's 2nd half literally got destroyed by The Great Destroyer, its why it sounds all glitched and fucked up.
You kinda need the great destroyer to disrupt, in the original. Especially if you have Dr dre beats in yer butt!
I don't have an issue with the OG version. The remix being better is just like my opinion man. The fact that it is such a powerfully sinister message delivered so sweetly is ironic to me. Pink Floyd, Puscifer, and A Perfect Circle do that elegantly ominous thing too. It's fantastic! Like, musical sarcasm.
