Watching your video’s brings me joy! From America you have a fan rooting for you all the time! God bless you both!
Thanks Man
Two things I learned about 4K yard ranges:
1) Bring plenty of ammo.
2) Bring a good spotter.
Oh, and
3) Hang your target with 4 chains, just in case.
Lol, and you forgot to mention, pick a day where the wind is not so heavy, Cheers
"You got the chain honey". hehehe. Such great times you two have! Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks Chad, Cheers
There's only one thing I can teach you about shooting: when you cut the chain, you immediately say, "That's what I was trying to do."
Lol, Cheers Man, Thanks
@Lashaun Pember Nope
love you guys , watch all the time . I own a 338 lapua and use 300 bergers in my handloads and shoot steel plates across big drainages in north Idaho . I love the dynamics of that cartridge
Thanks Man, glad you liked, and sounds great, Cheers
👍👍 Always a blast watching your videos. Keep it up Mark and Sam!!
Cheers
Amazing how much the wind affects the point of impact. Shooting out to two+ miles is mind-boggling to me!
Subscribed
Cheers Fritz, thanks
Awesome stuff. Whenever I see a new video from you two it really makes a positive impact on my day. And I'm sure I'm not the only one feeling like that. And really interesting the lead core 338 needing less elevation than calculated. Excited to see if the same thing applies to the 30 cal and 7mm too.
Hi Ola, well we have ULR shots planned for those 2 so we will see, Cheers and all the best for 2018
That's some beautiful country.
Yep, Cheers
Sharing your Channel to the USA as much as possible Mark & Sam.

Nice video Mark and good shooting and spotting Sam.
Thanks Loren. Happy New Year. Cheers and all the best.
Amazing talent there Sir! 👍👍
Thanks Camille, Cheers
Of all the shooting i search, you two practically sit at the pinnacle of precision longggggg range. Half MOA shot at over 2 miles… elite sniper skill. Thanks for sharing. P.S. it’s awesome that you’re 6.5 CM of choice for nearly a 2 mile shot is Howa. Basically if you’re using a rifle in your videos, it HAS to be top notch.
Thanks Man, glad you like, Cheers
Great videos really enjoy watching them especially Sams chirpy comments. Good team!
Cheers Geoff, thanks
I really enjoy your videos. I was going suggest using 3 chains on the target but I see someone beat me to it. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Tim, Cheers
4002 yards = 2.27 miles.
That's some very impressive shooting. I can't hold a candle to that.
Thanks Man, Cheers
Dude 4000 yards 😳 that is some good shooting !!!!! Monroe New Hampshire USA 🇺🇸
Cheers Brad
Happy New year from New Zealand 😁
Thanks Andrew, all the best to you for 2018. Cheers
Mark&Sam, Happy New Year!!!!!!!
Hi Terri, you too, all the best for the coming New Year, Cheers
The flight time on these shot is amazing!
Cheers
I like that you keep your misses in the videos. There are some i wont name names that make it look like they hit first shot at big distances similar to these. Love the channel even if ill never reach out near as far as you shoot.
Thanks Man, yes all part of the ride, lol, all the best for the coming New Year, Cheers
4381 yards! Danged bully great shot!!! I'll be looking at more of these videos. My best shot was 900 but I get better as I practice.
Yeh man, practice is the key, glad you liked, Cheers
Afterwards Mel Gibson makes a smiley face on target with Smith 460 jk...great video, been looking at 338 rifles myself
Thanks Man, Cheers
Awesome videos, love to see them when they pop up on my feed. I thought I was subscribed a long time ago I usually watch your videos on my big screen smart TV and I do not sign into it. I signed in to my smartphone after watching this video and resubscribed. Thank you for posting all your great videos.
Awesome, thanks Man Cheers
Happy New Year to you.
Happy New to you and yours too, Cheers
Who needs a 50 cal when you got sam and mark with a 338 lapua nice shooting and spotting great vid and happy new year
Thanks Ermon, glad you liked, all the best for the coming New Year, Cheers
Civilian users may not need much more, but there are some specialized military tasks that 50BMG can fulfill better. Better to have both available.
I have desired a trg-42 for a long time now . Very sweet rifle !
Cheers
Awesome shooting .You might need to add two extra pieces of chain to the plate.
I’m also happy to say that’s a hit in my book.
Cheers.Mick
Hi Mick, glad you like, Cheers and all the best for 2018
Hey Mark you are a great .... For me you are a point of reference ... I started this sport for 1 year and I get more and more passionate about it. I started with 200 meters now I went to 500 meters, my goal is 2000 meters, although I think it will be hard with my Sabatti in 6.5 x 47 lapua. Whatever happens the more the challenges are impossible the better it is ... 😁😁😁. I'm considering buying your adjustable base for the rear bag because I think it can help me achieve my goal ... I look forward to your next venture bye 👋 bye.
Hi Ferdinando, great to hear you are getting out there, yes our bases do help most people in their shooting consistency, and yes that would be a tall order for that round, 1500 may be a little more attainable, but half the fun is finding the limits, all the best for the New Year, Cheers
MarkandSam AfterWork Auguri anche a voi 👍
Amazing shot brother color me impressed
Thanks Man, Cheers
Love this. Great video. Crazy range. 338LPM Rules. But man, I'm just doing the math...the cost (in rounds) of dialing in that target....1000 rounds of 9mm....
Thanks Man, but, hand loading changes those numbers a fair bit, Cheers
extraordinary field work result
Thanks Ray, Cheers
Поздравляю с Новым годом. Желаю в Новом 2018 году новых рекордов)!!!
Thank you and Happy New Year to you and yours
Still can't wrap my head around these shots. I almost cried when I got a decent size buck at 500+.
Thanks Man, glad you liked, all the best for the coming New Year, Cheers
solid fundamentals, ammo with 1-3FPS SD's, and wind calling (the indeterminent factor) very tough to make wind calls. good glass is a must see mirage and what the wind is doing
You guys make a great team. I’m a beginner long shooter and I just put together a Remington 700 Target Tactical.308 with bipod and 6x24x50 scope as my first gun when I’m a little seasoned I would love to build a Sako TR42 .338
@@timmcfarland3311 6.5cm is wicked
It's officially replaced 308 in rifles used by US special operations command
Amazing shooting in that wind... All the best in 2018!
Thanks Man, yes that wind made it interesting, lol, all the best for the coming New Year, Cheers
Awesome shooting as usual. So jealous of your opportunities for ELR shooting.
Cheers Hagge, thankyou and Happy New Year
Great shooting considering that wind, its quite something you were all around it.
Thanks Jack, Cheers
Awesome shooting 💪!
Cheers
Beautiful ⚡
Cheers
I would still consider that a hit, wonderful shot in that gusty wind, great shot and spot!!!
Thanks Dave, Cheers and all the best
I wish my gal would spot for me you are a lucky man. Good shooting mate
Cheers
Awsome equipment
cheers
Mark, best videos as always, can you have jacked powdered tungsten bullets made up? Hoping things change here in the states regarding the powdered tungsten to get the mass/weight up, and length down.
Thanks Jason, we'll try lead core first, Cheers and all the best for 2018
Every time that thing goes bang I see $$$ signs. But I bet is fun as hell.
Lol, all the best for the coming New Year, Cheers
Great vid and Shooting! What power setting do You use on your 4k and 5k shots?
Love Sam's commentary on the shot calls. She gets excited on those near misses.
Hi Brett, really depends, but between 20x and 25x in these conditions, Cheers
Perfect wind for America’s Cup. Amazing Shooting.
Yep, Cheers Man Thanks
Love all your videos. Enjoy watching them all. I was wondering if you ran the camera a little out of focus. Would we be able to see and follow the vapor trail from the projectile into the impact? Keep up the good work and thanks forr all your great videos.
Hi Michael, the likes of the bullet trace/vapour trail is only something you see out to around 1500 yards, can not see at these extreme distances, Cheers and all the best.
Thanks for answering my question. It's always good to learn something new. Have a great day.
A fascinating video. How long is your 1 in 9 barrel? Are you super sonic farther then the stock 338? Wish I could be there too.
Hi Sam, haven't changed the barrel in this one yet, Cheers
Incredible shooting.
Cheers
Don't know if you picked it up or not, but the "did not see" at around the 6:30 mark is was to the right, about 2/3 of the way to the tree. You must have picked up quite a bit of extra wind somewhere on that shot.
Hi Man, yes we could see in looking at footage, and yes some extra wind got that one, Cheers
Mark that wind was tough certainly NOT a steady wind. How do you like your TRG? I was looking at that rifle when I was shopping for my .338 Lapua but they had just got some large military contract and they were over a year out on delivery, I ended up getting a custom built Lapua with 700 action with a Hart barrel 29" and I run the same Nightforce as you do. I have been shooting all Lapua brass of course and 300 gr. SMK bullets at just under 3000 FPS. Great shooting on your part and your spotter does a great job! I cant wait to get out again but our temps in ND have been highly variable from -25 F to 57 F the other day. Take care and thanks for posting I will be watching!
Well they are like most decent rifles, some bits good, some not so much, lol, glad you liked, Cheers
Nello, great shooting. Tell me how much it keeps .338 without losing the group?
Hi Man, thanks you, but not sure what you are asking, Cheers
What a amazing shot! I live in NSW, where is this place? How do you find the land for such long range shooting?
WA, ask around in your area, Cheers
Am wondering if any extreme range shooters are putting high-speed gyros in their guns.
Go on target, press switch, fire up the gyros... and the rife would stay pretty steady.
Yes that May help, most common way to make rifle shoot better is more weight, there are F Class/ target ELR rifles with 40" barrels that weigh in excess of 50 lb's, not what we are doing here but yes that is what some do, Cheers
2.2 miles......RESPECT !!!!
Cheers
Very good shouting.👍In this distance what is a penetration for this bullet .If you put a bucket of clay is this bullet will go through this clay at 4000 yards?
Thanks Man, and well these would still have around 300ftlb's, more energy than the average 9mm at 50 yards, Cheers
Nice shot
Cheers
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but do you have to take into account the Coriolis effect at such a range? And if so how do you account for it?
Video on the channel, Cheers
What app are you using to measure distance ?
Virtual Measuring Tape
Super 👍👍👍
Cheers
Well done. Love the videos. Is that a standard muzzle brake you used and if so may i know the name? Or is it custom made?
Cheers FYI we make and sell muzzle brakes. link below, Cheers
Farthest I ever shot and made hits was with an AI AWSM .338 Lapua Mag @ just over 1400-yards firing at a 12" metal plate. Some nice shooting there, guys.
Thanks Kowboy, Cheers
Parabéns pelo Vídeo!!
Cheers
What is the gizmo on the front of the beast?
May you both have an awesome new year!
Hi Todd, that is a Charlie Tarac unit, a mirror system to gain scope elevation, Cheers and all the best for the coming New Year
Thank you so much for the explanation. All the best to you.
Inertia, or the fact a greater part of the flight is sub sonic and the bc not being the same monster?
Yes all part of it, Cheers
What type of scope are you using ? Great video
Nightforce BEAST moa, Cheers
ahaha...First I read you shot 4002 feet and was wondering thats nothing special in this channel. Oh boy how wrong was I. Those wind conditions are just crazy! If I may pry little bit: What is the muzzle velocity of your current berger load? What kind of barrel life have you had with the .338 LM? Happy new year!
Thanks Larry, well run a bit over 2820fps and not sure on barrel life, up at over 1500 rounds and still holds done a 1/4 moa group if asked, Cheers and all the best for the New Year.
inacreditavél....top
Cheers Man
I would have a hell of a time holding my crosshairs on target at 300 yards with that wind. Do you purposely pick windy days to film your shoots? Great shooting!!
Your suggesting we have a choice, lol, Cheers
Great video, superb shooting, does heat affect the barrel much there must be a fair amount of powder getting burned in a short period of time.
thanks Man, barrel heat is an issue, but something we work with, Cheers all the best for the coming New Year
100 grains almost
Unbelievable!!! 😮
Cheers
Are you one of the fortunate people that's never had to have eye correction lenses? haha
Watched the off-hand .45-70 video and that's some impressive shooting. Can't hit what you can't see. You gotta have good vision.
Yes, we both don't use glasses, yet, and you are very right, very hard to hit what you can't see, Cheers
You're blessed. I've needed glasses since before age 12. 36 now.
Nice
Cheers
What's your velocity and how long is that barrel?
Approx 2820fps, 27", Cheers
That wind is crazy.
Cheers
I hope i don't move a couple of Kilometers away from you guys and accidentally upset you . That would not be a smart move.( by the way I Love your Torana from an Xy falcon ute owner)
Hi Rusty, those are great rigs too, Cheers and all the best for the coming New Year.
Wow what a wind to contend with .
Yep, lol, Cheers
How fast is the bullet travelling? like 380-400 yards/second?
Bullet flight time v speed czcams.com/video/peGrrUSUMIA/video.html
Does the Spotting Scope have a MIL/MOA Reticle? I think you might have an easier time having Sam walking you in with MIL/MOA corrections and then trying 3 shot groups when you are close so you aren’t chasing the wind as much. I think you would have an easier time getting a custom Base made and do away with that Charlie contraption, but that’s just me. The less complicated the less things that can throw you off.
Cheers
A lot of wind from zero to 4,000 , love the lapua
Cheers
Y'all are inspiring me to see how far I can hit with my 308
Great, Cheers
Well I learned something today.... if a sniper is shooting at you with the .338 Lapua, you might just hear the shot if he is at least 4000yds away...
Not quite what you heard, but here czcams.com/video/_9gxLenODhg/video.html will help explain, Cheers
TRG 42 and 338 LM,simple,nothing else!!
Cheers
Super chingon
Cheers
Thats a heck of a wind youre fighting
And to add, you have some amazing patience. Seeing those rounds dance around the target and never connect would have driven me wonky. Thanks for the great vid!!
Thanks Christopher, yes it is all about the dance, you have get on the same step as the wind to make this stuff happen, Cheers
Just curious have you every accidentally shot your camera + tripod that is setup near the target? at 8:13 you are getting close to hitting it!
I dont mean so much the tripod for the gopro i mean the actually camera.
Hi Jason, Yes we have steel protectors for our GoPros at target, and we have shot those before, while ago now out at 2000 yards with the 300wm, no damage, they work well, Cheers
Ok then that's good all the best.
.375 Gibbs packed some way way down range energy !
Thanks Tom, yes this 338lm in the SAKO TRG42 it a great combo, glad you like the shooting, Cheers
Noooo way 😮
Lol, Cheers
Cool shot bud... but you should let that barrel cool about every 5 shots..
Thanks Bud, but not how we do this stuff, I have videos to explain, but hey, if you do these ULR shots and get on at these distances, keep doing what works for you, Cheers
MarkandSam AfterWork I was trying to help you my friend.. a hot barrel is an inaccurate barrel , this rifle is a very capable long rifle.... with the wind you were shooting in every little bit adds up especially at ULR
Hitting a 1/2 inch swinging chain at 2.27 miles is very impressive. next time just shout "got it"
Lol, Cheers
What’s the name of that square scope shader?
Charlie Tarac
