I think Dennis enjoys bagging 😂 great video
Stop
At 70 I thought I knew a lot but watching 10th Gen, You and Farmer on the Prarie I know nothing. I thought these nice clean cows got milked 2 a day and that's it. The amount of work required to plant and process food for cattle, feed every day, and then take care of the back end product! I see silos every day but watching your videos gives me a new appreciation. Bunking! Who knew? Now using this plastic tube system. The tech is ever-changing. Thanks for sharing eah!
I know a lot who bag like this. It's a lot easier to manage, and easier on utilities in general. Safer overall, too. We'll be doing this once we have our farm.
Yeah, you can still hear that Dutch accent hangin on in Dennis's voice. Another great video Jan. You do such a great job with the music!
Really high quality look at a process most of us never think about but should. Thanks for sharing and we'll done.
Your filming, camera angles / positions, editing is always great; but this jumped to the top. Also it iwas interesting to see a different process of storage silage. Denise was straight forward about the Pros & Cons of "bagging" & "Pit Storage".
That bagger is amazing thanks for sharing different ways of doing things
I watch a lot of other vlogs, and they talk about the time it takes to complete a vlog. The quality of your finished product is excellent so that I would guess that between doing your regular farmwork and vlogging leaves very little time to sit around and do nothing.
lol farmer don't even know that sentence "sit around and do nothing" what does that EVEN MEAN?!?!?!
Very interesting. You make great videos. Thanks for sharing.
You have picked up an additional thousand subscribers since last video! Congrats , way to go Dutchy! 👍🏻🇨🇦
So interesting Jan, thank you for this video. Your shots are so good, really taking us up close and personal with the bag loading. Back in the “good old days” our silage pit (corn only) was made out of wood with a head stantion that was pushed forward with the tractor. My my how things have changed for the better. Pros and cons will continue on, what is good for one farm isn’t suitable for the next. Great drone footage...just a great video, thanks again.
Great team work!👍💖
That bagging machine is really cool. I wondered how they made those perfect piles. Also interesting to hear about the pros vs. cons of each method of silage storage. Thanks for the vid!
Storage solutions are a whole science. Each metgod has its pros and cons. In my opinion bags pros are that it is done in one sweep, but on the con side they take a while to fill and therefore need extra transport capacity if you compare tipping loads in a pile or bunker silo. everything beats bales.. 😇
Plus that the size of the farm and manpower also plays a role..
check out Grassmens youtube page, they have an older vid there where are one big contractor that does alot of bags and he talks about the pros and cons hes experienced with it
Thank you for your informative comparison of alternative silage storage methods. Your videos are excellent sources of education and provide such a positive representation of modern farming and dairy management. Your generation of young farmers are our future and I hope that your hard work will make agriculture a more appealing career choice for other young people. Your growing subscriber numbers are very much deserved. I appreciate your hard work and the extra effort required to produce these exceptional videos.
Great you can help each other out. Just shows you how the human figures things out, taking the process in different directions as you move from cutting to storage. That innovation!!
Very cool to show another farm's method.
Another pleasant day when I come home to a video from Jan. Super drone footage, it really gives a great view of how the crop gets into the truck. Really enjoyed it and as always, thanks for taking the time to make and share the videos.
I’ve seen other videos where they are using the bagger but none of them came close to the length your friend uses. I can see it being really helpful if you have to store it for a long time.
We used silos then switched to bags , we liked both , we used bunkers but hated them most , yes the bag was better feed more fresh but our harvestores we loved most over all, what we hated most was the disposal of the plastic in our area .
I’m totally enjoying your channel is so educational thanks
Thanks for the update and that is a sweet operation.
Way cool drone footage and time lapse. I love how during the time lapse the only thing that stayed stationary was your blindspot mirror.
Wow! This old Illinois farm girl is impressed!
Very informative, thanks for a different perspective!!!
This is so Canadian..makes me miss home.
Ok Jan you have great taste in music!!! The song Make It in Time - Gamma Skies feat. Ebba is AWESOME!!!! GOOD CHOICE!!!!
Always good to see and hear about another method. Incorporate what you can and learn.....you might even find few more efficiencies for your place....
That was very interesting, Jan! Seeing that one way is not always better or worse, just different! Keep up the great videos!
Dennis is the kinda guy you want out there with ya all day. Knows what he’s doin and makes it fun doing it.
Helping our neighbors us whats its all about - Bravo Kiddo!!! #milklife
Great great video, with good show of the equipment and technology used. Thanks for discussing with the colleagues at nearby farm and do the kind a review with Pros and Cons. It's a nice technique with keeping the feed nice and clean, the best possible feed for the cows and good opportunity for good preservation of the grass, green maize and so on till wintertime. Liked it. Well done and thanks Jan!👌👍
Great video. Great to conpair the two different types. Great job.
I love the variety of your videos. There have been so many times I would wonder how something is done in the farming world and by watching your videos I feel like I have learned quite a bit. Thanks for all the effort and time tou put i to your videos it is much appreciated.
Nice to see Saskatchewan countryside again. The last time I was there was August 1979. It had been so dry that year that all across western Canada no one bothered to harvest their wheat.
It would've cost more to harvest it, than they would have recieved.
I really like your presentation and agriculture video ✨ so impressive, I wish I can visit your beautiful farm land⭐
Much Love from Kentucky, USA 🇺🇸
Thanks for showing us how another farm does things. the way you do you cutting and harvesting is very similar to the other CZcams farmer I watch using the pits. Really cool to see how they store their crop by bagging it!
Not sure how I missed this video...but I did. I really appreciate you taking us off farm and explaining this whole process and the value plusses and negative. Great work!
Very nice Jan. I've said this before, but you are gifted in the way you formulate your videos. They are not just catching the activity of the day. But as in this case, you reported, interviewed, and taught us about this new process. You and
"10th Gen" Eric use a similar process in storing the silage. So this was interesting to see other options. Thanks for taking us along. Hope you're getting some relief from the heat this week. We have experienced some of that too down here in Virginia. Stay cool! :D
Neat thing About the bag is if you have a self loading feed mixer you just stick the louder inside the bag and fill he up.
Its always nice to watch your videos Jan. Awesome Job!!
Always so interesting. Thank you Jan.
Pretty cool all the different ways to do things. Thanks for sharing! Blessings.
Great video Jan. Interesting to see how it works. Once again you did a great job of showing how it all comes together. Good job my man.
Great video Jan thanks, very informative!
Great video, thank you for sharing.
Learn something new every time I watch a video. Great vids and lots of detail. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for sharing was pretty interesting and as always just love that drone
Great. Nice and quite illustrative video. I like a lot your work
I like the silage bagging. Very convenient
Very interesting. Thanks for the lesson.
I think everybody has a friend like Dennis. 😜😜
Always enjoy your videos Jan! Thanks and it was very interesting see how other farmers do things. I just love how you guys help each other out!
Jan awesome video. Real interesting. First time I have seen that operation. Thanks for showing us! 👍👍
I really enjoyed seeing their system of feed storage, TFS Jan.
Blue harvester is still the way to go specially in the cold climate like y'all have but you have to go all the way fully automated all the way upto the fead wagon. Balled silage is probably the next best very low man house. Ball strat to a giant square baler from the chopped and of that into a pull raper. Silage is compressed and bagged all in one at the feeled.
That was very interesting.never saw the bags filled before. Thanks
That was Fun! Cool to hear the pros and cons of both. Nice drone footage. Thank you for sharing! Stay safe and healthy :-)
Interesting and informative video. Great drone shots, Jan the man of many talents, truck driver today bouncing along. 😊
Great Video JAn!
I find agriculture very interesting , thanks .
So very interesting, thanks for the video 👍
Great video and interesting facts.
Great video keep up the good work The look around the bagger was very interesting 🧐 Les ( uk)
Jon.
Thank You for the video of the chopping and bagging of hayage. The video was excellent maybe give you some ideas how you could use something like that to make your feed better just a thought. Please Take Care and be Careful around all farm equipment. 👍😎
your videos are awesome keep up the good work!
That was so interesting thank you for sharing
I liked the bagger video a lot.. thanks
Fantastic video!
really good video , and very interesting, liked it alot ,great job
Thanks that was very informative. Always wondered how they filled those.
Pretty good intro Jan . If u never see a bagger work .
We used to use bags . Now it's all pits
Thanks for sharing 👍
Very interesting. In Germany many farmers have to build new silage pits, because there are new laws and you have to divide between rain water and the water which comes out of the silage. Costs about 250000 € for a normal silage pit. Our new silage pit gets a roof completely over. Greetings
Great video
Great video! I never saw that done before. Thanks
Dennis seems like a good neighbor. He is a character. Get him into vlogging lol
The pit suits us. There is a lot of plastic involved in bagging but it seems good quality silage coming back out. Great video and drone shots.
Can you imagine the size of the twist tie.
ahahah
Love that guys laugh! Haha makes me laugh!
And me. It's funny isn't it.
Great video as usual Jan :)
👍👌🇨🇦❤, another Sask boy
I remember seeing this years ago. I was wondering why the farm had giant caterpillars on their property. Good to know they're actually sausages. Your drone shots are amazing.
Just joined your subscription. Love it from your way if dairy farming to my way here in NZ many things similar but also different .. keep up the good work ..🐮🐮
I didn't know giant sausage feed was a thing, thanks for showing it!! I watch in total awe at your trucks/lorries/semi's driving in the fields and just imagine one going to the belly in one of my fields. You just seem to have ideal conditions for farming, huge open fields, dry weather and decent machinery to make the job a lot easier!
Interesting video, thanks.
Wow pretty sweet set up ya got out there yea more bucs and plastic
Very interesting! 👍🇺🇸
Thanks, I never saw a bagging operation before
Great video. Excellent drone work. Believe the bunk silo is better, but the bagged silage is better than on the ground covered with plastic. (You may place plastic down onto the ground before dropping the silage onto the plastic, I didn’t notice that.)
Fascinating
Always wondered how those prairie worms were made. Thanks for the great video!
Wow some big operation
Great Video, The Bagging process has always intrigued me, I guess it's a balance between quality and cost! I suspect grass and maize will be always bunker stored, where as specialist crops like Lucerne, Whole crop might suit bags, my gut feeling it it seems like lots of plastic, thanks for sharing
You guys should go to bagging that way you don't have to deal with all those tires and plastic troubles of it mixing in the soil& silage. Just a thought kid time for you to invest. 😁👍
Damn thats a real old school bagger 😂
Very interesting! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Down here in southern Illinois we use corn. I never knew how they got that in the plastic bag, now I know, thanks.
Very interesting.
Great video Jan I am surprised there's not another hopper type finer grinding setup in the yard that all the feed goes through before it goes into the mixer so the cows can process the food mix to its full potential
