The dude explaining to Clarkson the Amish is so wholesomely kind.
I learned so much!
And well articulated. Smart indeed
I think ur American
A lovely bloke
Honestly, and Jeremy was so well behaved while listening, I was expecting him to be cracking jokes with every other word out of his mouth. I’m actually really proud of him for that as silly as it seems, he’s not exactly the type to show restraint or understanding…
Loving both the guy explaining the Amish and Clarkson genuinely listening and asking questions
im enthralled in the conversation.
Clarkson isnt 100% arse! He is actually normal! 😂😂
When he’s not being a buffoon Clarkson can be quite an interesting and serious presenter. His war documentaries are really good.
@@sparky4878 i think during top gear (and a bit less in GT) hes playing more of an exaggerated character. Yes as a person clarkson has a lot of ideals and 'extreme' political statements, but i have this feeling that off camera hes a lot more reserved in his opinions.

Hats off to the Mennonite who described the Amish religion to jeremy in such a succinct and relatable manner

@@alunesh12345 its just a story book, relax
Except he didn't, He explained a few interesting facts about life as an Amish or Menonnite person, mostly about the technical details about buying a carriage, and he described Amish as "those who thought the Mennonites were too liberal". He didn't say anything at all about the religion, except that people owned cars before they were baptized into the church. Said nothing about doctrine, history, rules, size, he didn't even explain what an Amish or a Mennonite person _is_ , other than one is more liberal than the other. So, interesting talk, seemed like a nice guy, but you can't say that he "described the religion" in any manner.

I think they meant the population of Britain not the U.S, also it’s most likely a generalization, and one made back in 2010, between those three things I think it’s a bit more reasonable…

They aren’t. There are some Amish in Whitehall NY. Going behind them drops you down to less then 20MPH and when the slowest is 30MPH should tell you that you have to be ready to slow down coming around a corner.
The buggies aren't that heavy so they can get up to galloping speed
I'm surprised James got his maths wrong about the seating capacity at Indianapolis.
That's why that scene was deleted

That’s not taking the TV audience into account, the World Cup average viewership in 2018 was over half a billion with a total estimate of 1.1 billion over the 90 minutes, NASCAR averages 4.7 million, there is no comparison. A car race takes place in a much bigger arena, it’s always going to have a larger live audience
Well tbf I think it's clear he was referring to live audience and not television audience, but still, it's quite a telling statistic
Love the flashbangs every minute..
The directors took them to southeast DC I'm weak rn lmaooo
I lived in upstate NY, and down in the southern tier (around a couple of the finger lakes) there is a strong Amish community. I remember driving to a friend’s house at night in that area, and I saw a pair of headlights coming at me and I couldn’t figure out what it was, because the lights were closer together than normal automobile headlights.
i used to live in Pennsylvania and we had super large Amish community, a family friend would often have Amish people walking through her yard to cut through the woods behind her house.
Fun Fact about the Amish I’ve heard: They basically do reverse prostitution. If what I’m told is correct, Amish father’s will pay non-Amish men to have sex with their daughters so the Amish community doesn’t become inbred
I love when Clarkson opens a trunk or is showing things fitting somewhere He does a little hand wave
All jokes aside, DC is a truly rough area
Eh, as someone who lives nearby and travels through it frequently, it's more than 60% gentrified at this point, so to the untrained eye a lot of parts might look shady but that's mostly due to the simple fact that there is a lot of fairly old housing that wasn't always kept very well mixed in side-by-side with brand new, recently remodeled modern houses. If you ever get to see South East DC/Anacostia/Capitol Heights, you'll realize how much nicer the other parts of DC have become. Much more of the area used to be like SE DC, but there has been a steady influx of yuppies for years now that have bought up and done up large chunks of the city.
This just shows how unscripted it was or even seemed- just feels more genuine, like every episode there was a plan- GT sometimes feels like there’s no plan with where the episode goes
Tim Baldwin common misconception. I love the oldtop gear but many people who have worked with the old top gear series in shooting for the tv show have exposed how well planned and scripted the show is. Even to the point where they would film a section of the programme, get out of the cars and then move them to the next shooting location and get back in and pretend they drove all the way. Remember it’s an entertainment programme, a lot of smoke and mirrors in the filming!
@@forgamesforme In The Grand Tour they obviously cheat on the drivers, whether they're being masked during filming (all of a sudden the windshield seems heavily tinted) or blurred in post-production. It happens too often IMO when they're filming the car drifting or simply going around. It don't recall as much cheating in TG and that felt indeed more genuine
It just shows how well made TG and GT are
@@TheNamesArif GT is so badly made it makes me puke
TG was feeling dated and GT does too. But can aways tell the genuinely unscripted bits by the way they’re laughing at each other. Like in the GT episode in Detroit, when May asks which seat Dodge includes for free.
*TRIVIA TIME*
Did you know? SLS were developed alongside - and even borrowed the shell of - *New Dodge Viper* during Daimler-Chrysler era. That's why they both have the same body profile
This was proved untrue. Sls was the first AMG built car when Mercedes AMG became its own division. The fact that the entire body costs 3 times the price of the vipers steel body, should tell u that. Talk to anyone at crysler or mercedes and they will tell u that this news is media hoax
