I actually don’t agree with that, it doesn’t apply to everyone ! I was always fit and was an athlete for most my life never had issues putting weight. One day I started having those sharp pains in hands and feet, the fr tells me I have RA and put me on meds and steroids to lower inflammation in the body for 6 weeks whilst the meds started acting !exactly when lockdown started where we couldn’t even go out to walk in the park! I put on 15 kg in 2.5/3 months cause of the steroids and struggling to move and stuck indoors all the time . My hunger was off the charts and I could hardly sleep cause of them ! So yeah it was hard coming out of lockdown and trying to get back to work out with the condition but I recently had the courage but had to hire a PT to do things safely and it has been a hard but rewarding journey .

Something that was helpful for me with building consistency was to start small. I started doing one squat a day because daily exercise was my goal. I celebrated that one squat. It eventually grew to 5 squats and then 10 squats, 10 push ups, 10 situps and a 20 sec plank. Now I'm in the gym daily. On days when I just can't, the minimum I do for my exercise for the day is that 1 squat to keep the practice active. We have to rewire our thinking around it for it to stick. Thanks for the tips!

  • @phillygemini526
    @phillygemini526 Před 6 lety +110

Yes consistency is key! At the end 2014, started slowly losing weight...kicked up the gear this
    March....2014...265...down to 205 by 2017...went up to 226...now 174 (lost 52 since March 2018).
I workout everyday (mix of cardio/core/strength) from home and use the fact that I have a dog to walk...and kick that up. Its about an hour a day. I also work on flexibility too.
The main thing is diet. Start small with swap outs, take a short walk after dinner. Moderation is key. Easiest is to cut out/down is sugary beverages...they add up quick. Pick workouts that you like, pick a time that works, days that work...pick good foods that you like. Watch your portion sizes. It won’t take overnight...does not have to be perfect...but do not quit.
I am aiming for another 24 pounds! 🙌🏾
If anyone is reading this that does not think they can’t...stop! You can. Just be consistent and start small and not overdo. Its all about the build up.
He is so right with all his points.
    TY for the upload

This video let me know I’m doing a good job. I’ve been dieting for about 3 weeks now (this is the longest I’ve ever stuck to my diet) and I told myself I wouldn’t step foot in a gym until I got my nutrition right. 90% of the time, I eat 1 ingredient foods but sure there are times I’ll “cheat” but after those cheat meals, I always flush it with a gallon of water & green tea - I started at 175 and I’m 166 now. Ima give myself probably another 2 weeks before I start working out.
Hopefully by my birthday in February, I’ll be 115 😩 wish my luck

Human bodies reacts by momentum. What I mean by that is that if you didn’t exercise most of your life your momentum is to sit down and not move so much. But if your active your body’s momentum will change and your body would wanna move without u even Thinkin about it. Last year I went to the gym almost everyday but I would hoop for like 3-4 hrs cuz I love b-ball. So by the time I’m done and boutta workout I’m spent on energy. But I was new so I wasn’t too aware of this. I was goin for months Eventually your gonna have to make a decision to get better or quit overall. Keep pushing. What I didn’t realized is I watching creating a habit of just being active. Now that I have shifted my momentum, everything else came easy. Build the habit first then go from there. Gettin to the gym is the hardest part!!!!

I get so motivated to do better to work out but sometimes I get so lazy.. so therefore I’ve not made a difference. But this video has made me think otherwise. Start off small n work ur way up don’t try doing it all at once, is the best thing I’ve heard. And as of today I’m going to try my hardest and be consistent and not give up. THANKS TO YOU ! I believe in what you said, I was stressed and I went for a walk the first day, then the second day, I told my self I wish I could walk at least 3 days a week, I told my self look you don't need to push your self don't make it by force, when ever you feel you can walk go for it, that was 3 months and half ago, no almost I go for walk daily, the point is don't force ur self, take it slow and once we see changes in our bodies we become addicted to it and it's a stress relief, now I'm think of going to the gym a lifting some weights, I know I'll be overwhelmed by the equipments I'll see and too much information, but I'll take it slow without forcing
You sum it up in the word (CONSISTENCY)
Thank you, you made me more aware of it 🙏

Get to the gym. Even if it’s for five minutes. Just get there. Every day or almost every day. Make it a habit and need, a lifestyle desire - not a drag or a “have to.”
Just get there. Evolve your goals. Don’t be put off by gym rats and arrogant people. Be yourself. Do yourself right.

I recently started my weight loss journey. I’ve been going to the gym and I completely cut off soda and started drinking water. I still feel bad sometimes because I don’t eat healthy but I try to make myself feel better and say to myself that at least I’m starting off somewhere.

I went full on cold turkey and cut so many bad things from my day to day diet. Sodas, deserts, fast food etc. I'm not eating super clean, but I've cut portions and count calories of my meal without looking at macros too much. My willpower carried me for a while, but then when it faded, it's discipline that took over.
Same with my training, I've been a runner for 3 years but last 2 I wasn't doing too much because covid killed all my motivation. Well now, I'm fucking doing cardio and running every. single. day. Why? Because the grind, the suck, the discipline of it.

Remember it is ok to take a day off every now and then. You can even just do half a workout if you’re busy. If you are busy and active two days in a row, you can work on sit-ups and upper body the first day. Then on the second day, you can work on your lower body/legs. Hope that wasn’t confusing. You’ve got this ❤️ :D

Literally was going to search for a video like this and ended up in my home page. Always seem to get burnt out with the gym after 4-8 weeks. My biggest issue is constantly craving fast food and drinking. I'm not huge by any means but I've definitely put on 25lbs of fat in the last year. This video helped a lot. Any quick tips for me to help with my food and drinking issue?
