Terry, You're overthinking the battery operated Bearcat. My son Logan flew this airplane when he was 4 or 5 in our cul-de-sac. No modifications. When he ran out of battery, he flew it without power! Hope you enjoy it as much as he did!

The Boeing 377 Stratocruiser shared much of its design with the B-29. But I believe the plane Terry was talking about was the 307 Stratoliner which is a development of the B-17. And yes, I believe that particular one went into the Puget Sound.
Also Terry, there is a large model (180" span) of one in our area. It was built by Carl Bachhuber out of Mayville, WI. Someone else owns it now, but it may make an appearance at the warbird/classic event coming up in Fond du Lac.
