Tom is a top bloke. The Guy is a saint...
Tom Lenthall Limited and Alex attention span limited, What a team!
The more random and all over the place, the podcast the better.
1 hour and 35 minutes of good banter.
Tom is a top guy. Just genuinely funny guy who comes across very genuine and definitely has a proper inner child.
A Datsun 120Y is really the car you should take to Norway for some ice driving and sideways action, i'm Norwegian and i had a 120Y over 20 years ago.
That car was amazing in the winter, it was so easy to control that it could be driven sideways in a straight line. Also the heater was brilliant, +30°C inside the car was no problem even if the temperature outside was -25°C.
Fun fact: the grill from a Toyota Corolla KE30 fits on the 120Y if you put it upside down, i learned that because of some sideways action that ended up in someones garage door.
Was the Corolla behind the garage door? Did you break their door and then steal their grill? 🤣
@@kieranjamieson The Corolla was already in the breakers yard ready for scavenging, a grill for a 120Y was hard to come by already back then.
Out here in Oz, the 120Y was considered an absolute shitbox (for good reason) and its nickname was the 120 why bother !!😂😂
in Australia we had a Chrysler Galant that was a similar size to the 120y etc... the 2 litre engine with a decent intake/exhaust and a cam was weapon, i never raced an Escort but it would have had a bloody good crack at them!
I had a 1979 Datsun pickup that I bought out of a field in probably 2008.
Put a battery on it it started right off.
It had been parked for 2 years cause the radiator sprang a leak.
I fixed it, and used it as a farm truck.
It never got stuck, and no matter how cold or hot it was It always started.
It didn't have a heater.
It had flaps that you could open on the firewall under the dashboard with a lever so the engine heat could heat the inside of the car.
@tomlenthal you stopped in the pub. im a chef in The Mutton. I wanted to pop out and say, Hello. However, didn't want to disturb you and your wife, but I hope you enjoyed your steaks! 🙂
You should have come and said hello and yes, the food was superb!
Great to see these in full on CZcams now, love seeing everyone’s reactions
Loved this one. Tom is a saint for putting up with you guys 😂. Might have to come Shed Fest to see Emma now.
Good to see a local lad on the podcast. Tom seems like such a cool guy
I glad to hear Tom has loads of fun with you crazy guys, I think you're helping stay young
Awesome to get the full podcast on YT. Cheers!
Love you guys soo much, please release everything at once. You set us up for multiple failures
You guys are a great bunch, the Range (no pun intended) that Tom adds is epic.
Cheers Gents
Really sorry to to learn about Emma Tom. Can hear in your voice how dear she clearly was to you. As a fellow diver, volunteer, hiker, and general party lover.. my heart goes out to you man. Amazing podcast guys x
The best hour and a half this week so, it’s taken my mind off the amount of pain I have from shingles so thanks a bunch guys 🏴👍🏻
As much as I like watching the podcasts (to see the footage), there’s nothing better than the drive home from work on a Wednesday and listening to it on Spotify in the car. Keep up the good work lads. It was always going to be a great podcast with a legend like Tom 👏🏼
Knockhill is a great track, I live about 40 minutes away and have taken my TVR around it a few times. The Old Military Road up through the Cairngorms is a great, great road (along with the Glenshee ski slopes that are open in the summer for a pit stop). You should definitely stop at the Still Art installation overlooking Tomintoul, basically a big square mirror and its pretty cool, just on the side of the road up a small path.
Glad to see a decent length podcast, cheers guys.
I love these Podcasts, can't wait for Shedfest 2024 later this year
E32 freshly detailed in the background? hope a video on it is coming soon? 😀👍
Geat Show , as always , When Tom admitted Datsun I immediately thought 120 Y , which I had as the Coupé , drove the arse out of it , but survived a young squaddies abuse in Chatham and Tidworth back in the 80,s . ( yes I,m an old Twat too :-) )
I literally CANNOT wait to see your trip to Norway!!
I so wish I could go, with my Saab ❤
Guuuys!!! I already listened to the podcast, should have known there would be a full length video...well, I'll watch the video anyway :D
Absolutely brilliant chat well done 👏
118K subs on v2! Excellent.😊
Would love to see Alex, Rory and Taylor do something like a public transport race against a car or motorbike. Like the ones done on Car Throttle and Top Gear.
Maybe Alex's unit to Knockhill racetrack in Scotland. Winner gets to drive a super car.
Just away to watch the podcast now.
Loving the channel 👌
LOVING THE FULL EPISODES
thank you for full podcast ! love from Slovenia
Best one so far Tom is awesome
What a top bloke Tom is.
Rip Emma and the best of luck to you All. ❤
That was good fun. Enjoyed that 👍🏻
Laughed more than I have for years listening to Tom's stories.
He definitely needs his own channel.
This was my favourite podcast so far, Tom Lenthall is a treasure.
I'm watching this podcast with my X type in the air on my drive as I did rear shocks and front wishbones this week and still need to sort an oil leak as it failed it's MOT. Jag life
On the subject of automotive injuries My dad is a mechanic, and one time he was trying to break something loose or pry on something and had a long pipe over a wrench for leverage. Well the pipe slipped out of his hand and as it did, a metal bur on the end of the pipe severed a tendon in his thumb. Doctors had to surgically reattach it buy going down his forearm and grab the tendon and pull it back to the thumb
Can relate, Westy dog always coming back with pigeons in his jaws. sometimes alive, sometimes dripping blood. Thanks Homer, good boy
Tom is a hero! Love him!!!! Follow his own channel too, he knows his stuff!!
I love this,
So nice to see Taylor and his Dad Tom 😂
Really love you guys
I knew a lady once, she got her finger cut off behind a farm tractor, they had a plough on the back doing some work and she was back there helping getting it read and lost a finger, they put the finger in ice and go to the hospital and they reattach it and it was good after that, felt a little bit weird she said, weather could have effects on it but it was working again soon after, amazing, and this was over 20 years ago now!
guy i was at tech college with was a farm lad, got his hand caught in some machinery and lost a few fingers... as a result he had his little or ring finger grafted on to replace his thumb!!
Another great podcast lads 👍🏻
Tom lenthall is a good bloke respect for owning a Jagaur Land Rover workshop
Greetings to James Best, he's most likely deployed at Tapa military base, where i had my mandatory military service that ended at the beginning of last years summer. Was cool to see the challengers and leopards driving around
Love from Boston, MA USA!
Would love to see you gents hook up with the NightRide boys when you get to Poland. Two brilliant CZcams channels united
Tickets booked for shedfest 🤙 can't wait for it
Yes the full podcast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Full of flu but ur podcast cheering me up, thx chaps!
yesss, Love tom, he`s a proper legend
I love near birdlip n that's a hill n half praticly facing bottom off hill when you come down and been done by that speed camera
For the poland trip, it would be cool if you could go to drift masters finals.. last years was massive. I know the extreme builds aren't exactly your thing but I'm sure you would enjoy the change of scenery and maybe foster some cross polination with the likes of nightride or drift games or the like. Would be some trip.
can't wait to see the scotland trip
This is really good. Tom is a real champ. Every time you do a podcast it gets a little bit better and this was easily the best yet 😊
Keep it up lads - we love you 😍!!!
Taylor talking about a tank: "You know, the big one"
Yes Taylor, tanks are big 😂
On the mouse.. i once saw a mouse do a wall run to avoid a trap as wide as the gap it was in.. Crafty beggers.
Yeh good one and yes Alex putting on a bit of timber 🤣🤣😎next week keep fit chat🤫
There’s no snow up here at the moment it’s been the hottest January in history 😂👍🏻🏴
Just wait until the random March snow!
Clean the soot off the cars right away Taylor, its pretty corrosive stuff once it gets wet, I used to do fire and flood restoration for business's, and the areas where the fire and subsequently the area that gett wet once the firefighters deal with it were always the areas where the flash corrosion would be really bad, bearing in mind we'd probably be turning up a week later after everythings rusty....as for the structure, if your doing it yourself get some cheap high alkaline cleaner like daisy from tesco and some scouring sponges and use that on all the walls to clean soot off, you then need to spray a clear varnish over it to seal it, otherwise the patches of left over soot will come back through the fresh paint you put on the wall.
Can tell Taylor is knackered in this video hes nodding off at the end of the couch 😂😂😂
Tom’s dry humour is brilliant
Tom is just a legend!
Datsun was the UK forerunner to Nissan not Toyota.
Love having Tom on the pod 😊
You guys should all come to Japfest when you come to Poland!!!
It would be great to see some episodes on the beautiful bikes you have in the background there boys!
3 days later...
@@TitchyRed I know, crazy stuff!
Tom a is proper old skool geezer, not enough of them IMO.
You can find 3.2 Carreras or the earlier 3.0 SCs for £35k-40k, yes. However, only the G Body Turbo received the in-house designation of “930”!
Popped across to Tom's channel, that XJC is a work of art. I'd suggest to get the most money you can for the charity, team up with one of the car lottery/giveaway sites and do a raffle on it. You can then raise much more than the car is worth as a single sale.
For a while there we’re both Datsun and Nissan badges on their models… my Dad had a Nissan Laurel, with Datsun badging..
Love these! (just don't press stop-record)
No wonder I like Tom, he's an honorary Aussie 🤣🤣🤣
I really love the pod, I’m not sure why the audio and video can’t be released on the same day
Almost shouting '120Y' at the TV, showing my age...The great thing about this channel and some similar on CZcams, unlike the later years of Top Gear its not forced, not overcomplicated and the chemistry is there for all to seem Some of the guys like Tom and others who get involved when works getting done or in some of the challenges are welcome additions.
Alex, first I’ll start by giving some positive feedback. Your channel is great and the chemistry between you all on camera is brilliant and you remain down to earth which is invaluable in todays CZcams of supercars.
I do however find myself watching less and less of your videos and I’ve been trying to think why. I’ve come to the conclusion that the relatability of buying shit boxes and cheaper more affordable cars has been somewhat lost. And no I’m not talking about the Porsche as I can appreciate anyone jumping at the chance of a dream car. It’s the amount of cars you’re buying. You buy and buy while neglecting most of your collection. How is 30+ cars relatable in any way ? I think a lot of us would rather see a smaller collection of cars that are featured more in the videos and then sell on once you’ve got your use out of them.
Classic example of what I mean is the trading up series. It fell by the wayside but when you found the Porsche you used the series as an excuse to buy the Porsche and gave theoretical values to the cars you’ve yet to sell.
It’s a small complaint but i find myself clicking on I bought X videos less and less.
Estonia mentioned 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
As a Yank I love your content. too bad i cannot come over for Shedfest.
Knockhill is often referred to as the mini nurburgring. Ull see why after u do a few laps 👌
E32 😍 Viking done a job there!
Yes there was a Datsun Bluebird... learned to drive in that :)
There's a Ducati 748 in the background !!! Sorry, I can't listen very well with such a lovely bike to look at. Pleeeeeez do some more motorbike content. Always enjoy your videos - well done!
Alex I need a vehicle for a big roadtrip to and round Italy, the plan is an estate/suv with a roof tent, I’m 20 so insurance is still a factor and vans are too expensive to ensure. Something like a VW Touareg or a a4 avant are what I’m looking for.
👍🏼
When are you guys planning on going to Knockhill? That’s my local track and would come along to say hi if possible ✌🏼
Good banter here.....
Knockhill will be open, please call them and try arrange something with them please, there an awesome company (saying as ex employee 😊) but please try arrange something with them, they always have something going on 1 day or another so call and speak to them.. please... it will be an awesome collaboration 👍
Already Booked!
Does Alex have a wash in gloss white emulsion before filming these?
podcasts available on apple music?
Man I wish I was in UK for this years Shedfest! 😢🇦🇺🍻
I’ve got a land rover discovery 3 with 550000km but you have to come to Australia 🇦🇺 to get it!!
lol take the ferry to bergen. from new casel!
Tom is literally old enough to taylors dad and it would so funny
Any chance the April track day will have an opportunity to meet you guys? I live really close and it would be great to meet you after watching you for so long.
29:00 Good that Taylor could get the podcast back on track
Great guest - almost makes me want a disco .. almost
Make him a regular, this was fun af 😂
Yes, Shedfest date announced!!! thx guys :-)
Last year I was cleaning the kitchen and I didn't realise a field mouse had snuck in. I heard a noise and I thought i trod on some kids toy. Went about tidying up. When got back from the outside bin I discovered the noise was my foot on top of a mouse. That was my first time discovering the anatomy of a field mouse as all its organs was on my freshly mopped kitchen floor.
What a lovely bloke Tom is
Shouldve kept quiet and done the mondeo, would've been felt like a proper top gear challenge
Got bit of a rule of don't pick cars up from Wales or Cornwall and that's hard as I live in Devon and the cheap ones always come up in those places
Nothing wrong with cheap Welsh cars :(
I bet Tom has more than enough stories to have his own podcast !
As an auto and bike enthusiast, please do a video on your trackday adventures (if possible?)
