Thanos had a reason, he wanted half the population of the universe to disappear due to insufficient resources. His reasoning was logical but his way of executing it was far from humane.
We even see him acknowledge this fact but he had made up his mind because he felt it was the most effective way to achieve his goal, for his so called greater good. Thats a well written villan right there. One who was ready to even give his life after accomplishing his goal.
Thanos was someone who we could see his point of view but didn't agree with his way of execution or vaules. That's good writing there.
Heck, we even get to see some emotions from his side too.

New Star Wars writers seem to be sure that this is a story where good and evil concepts can be grey. But it is not, Star Wars is about the constant hardships of being good vs letting yourself be controlled by your emotions.
These concepts are something people like the writers of this show can't fathom. As they feel personally attacked by Star Wars core ideas and the need for self control. This is the reason why they embelish the dark side of the force and criticize the light side of the force.

So, as fans, we've been treated to Batwoman, Disney's Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Gotham Knights (the show and the game), the Harley Quinn show and comics, virtually any tv show made in the last decade or so, the list goes on. I think we can see what you're going for. Since Headland is gay, we have to have actors saying Padawans might be gay, male characters being embarrassed and devalued (Luke, Han, Sol, not to mention, across the street, what they keep trying to do to Bruce, Clark, and the other top guys), the idea of a strong woman is to essentially cut your hair short, wear sleeveless shirts and cargo pants, and beat up foes, twice your size and/or experience and skill, without any effort, training, or trial and error, the list goes on. Basically, anyone with eyes and a functioning brain, can see the agenda, through overused tropes.
"A long time ago in a galaxy far away" was Lucas's way of focusing on specific themes. Modern-day writers can't take themselves out of their writing.
They needed to spend more time trying to figure out why Star Wars was so hard to duplicate. Since 1977, every major studio head dreamed of having a Star Wars level cash cow, yet none succeeded. Have a modicum of humility.

Disney used to be a family friendly. A place where you could take your children and grandchildren, while reliving your own childhood.
