If a person gives you importance (in a sense that they start talking to you in a friendly way ) and suddenly starts ghosting you doesn't always mean they're selfish. Maybe they misunderstood your intentions and why you were talking to them and upon knowing they just doesn't want to hurt your feelings or become a reason for why you'll be hurt in the future. And maybe they're just trying to protect your heart and theirs.
