Yes and she had lost her last matches to each of them too.
      1998 Eastbourne to Kournikova
      1999 Sydney to Davenport
      1999 Australia to Seles
      1999 Tokyo to Hingis
which makes it all the sweeter!

She beat the top three ranked players in the world to win her sixth title at the FO. No player had ever done that.....in any major. And that's coming back from being injured most of "97' and "98".

D G she was way past her prime, she beat them in a grand slam and her track record against them shows more wins. Steffi Graf is the greatest female tennis player of all time

@Aurangzeb Ali yes but that's not what we're talking about here. We can't keep saying steffis backhand won't be comparable to today's times just as much as we can't say Billie jean Kings style of play won't match steffis era and Helen connoly won't match billie Jean Kings era! That's not what this is about. A great tennis player is their overall presence in tennis and the impact it has made on the sport. Steffi is not only a record breaker but she is a consummate sportswoman, athlete and role model in tennis

I am amazed with that....graf handled 3 different ear with 3 compleatly ddiferent game style....no body can change their game this way.l never seen such a smart player in any field.when ever she felt some change, she took break and came back with a new standard of playing ....its awesome.

People think power and speed makes a champion which is of course Serena Williams but fail to realise it takes an incredibly smart player like Steffi Graf to outlast them. She was on the last leg of her career and she still managed to beat them alongside Hingis and Davenport

Steffi Graf a joy to watch. Brilliant court craft and a great mover. Can't think of one player in the current game who moves about the court as well as Steffi did. Would add that apart from beating the top three ranked players in the world, both Venus and Serena were seeded at this tournament. So at one end of the spectrum you had Steffi about to end her career and at the other Venus and Serena just starting out. Not enough data to come to any conclusion how their head to head rivalry would have developed. You can only assume what may or may not have happened.
