That's easy. First off, he doesn't have a "weird French accent" because he is not French, but a Flemish Belgian. So his native tongue is Flemish (variant of the Dutch language, spoken in Flanders, Nothern half of Belgium (Southern half is Walloon, French dialect). Secondly, Flemish people are usually good with other languages. Most of us are good/fluent in 3 languages minimum. Thirdly, we don't dub foreign TV series/films, but subtitle them. So we soak up foreign languages pretty fast.

Glad to see Marion is more at ease with English to express what's on her mind and let her personality shine through. Big different from those interviews she did in the U.S. right after winning the Oscar, even though I understand that she's still uncomfortable at times for not finding the right words. Anyone who learns to speak another language knows it's a big achievement to get that far as being that fluent for interviews.

I have been binge-watching his movies since, including the spectacular Bullhead. Aside from being a sterling actor, he has this aura of unforced masculinity which I find so sexy and compelling. I admire and am a fan of both of these incredibly talented actors. French and European films embody and deliver a message and quality of acting that Hollywood movies lack. The interviewer is terribly simplistic and it is painful to hear his weak questions to both actors. I would have asked much more intense and intelligent and witty questions to engage both actors. This is painful to watch and you can tell by the facial expressions of both actors, how uncomfortable they were at times with the inconsequential and lame questions they were asked. Aside from that, I admire and enjoyed watching both of these actors in Rust and Bone, as well as other films they've participated in.

in Flanders we speak dutch, and dutch is the closest language to english, so i'm guessing he just took some lessons to improve his pronunciation, but people speak english quite well in the dutch linguistic region... his french is better than his english though, imho

in Flanders we speak dutch, and dutch is the closest language to english, so i'm guessing he just took some lessons to improve his pronunciation, but people speak english quite well in the dutch linguistic region... his french is better than his english though, imho
she 's THE actress of his time. She 's got a twinkle in the eye that makes you think she will pull some joke or wit.
He's Flemish, aside from the g/sch sound we have a somewhat similar way of speaking I guess.
