It's certainly not often that I have the privilege of playing a brand new Lord of the Rings game with my friends, but ladies and gentlemen, today is such a day. Lord of the Rings Return to Moria is a brand new survival crafting game set in the LOTR universe, and I'm so happy to report that it's loads of fun to run around as dwarves and survive while the goblin tides while mining, crafting, and importantly, digging and exploring ever deeper into Moria.

Nothing against this game. But come on. People finally making lord of the rings games, but no big company is picking it up, making a really expansive experience.
So zero mention about the really simplistic combat? Or the super bad goblin AI? Or the fact you cant mine anywhere only certain spots? If you are sponsored to make theese reviews, please keep the critique involved, this just seems like shilling.

Been playing for about 6 hours solo and it's a bit of a slog so far tbh.
Goblin audio either bugged or missing completely.
The atmosphere is a bit lacking and isn't really engaging. Could do with some more ambience and better audio altogether.
The AI is extremely basic. I'll leave it as that but after a while you just avoid them.
The mining seems to just be small deposits here and there I was kind of expecting something more akin to deep rock galactic or valheim.
It's about 2 years away from being the game it can be. Time will tell.

Except the AI aint bad and the combat is only somplistic in the beginning, have played more than hour before you jumped in the bandwagon?
I remember when the Moria expansion came out for lord of the rings online. Loved their version of it. This looks very promising too.

shame it's not on steam yet - hopefully it will be in a year or so
Love the game greatly, i can agree that i some parts it is mediocre. But the game is one of few games that managed to release an complete survival base game that has an great atmosphere. The roadmap has made me hyped! The price seems to differ, i bought for 27$(330kr) but on reddit many seems to have vary pricepoint so be beware of that.

It's not that weird, it blend pretty well here (but it isn't change the fact it's not lore friendly).

No there is an bearded woman dwarf in beginning of the game and you can customize your female dwarf with beard too.
