I was able to pair my android to the mirror, tune in my fm and mirror in the same channel .the Calls is synchronized with my car stereo but not when i play music from my phone. Need help fixing it

Can 4G data enabled SiM card be used in this media? I understand that it will not work in 4G but probably 2G/3G protocol but I can only get 4G card locally.

My question is regarding the feature that matters the most to me and that is : remote monitoring.
When you spoke about the CAR ASSIST , you mentioned that It link your phone to the device when both connected to the same wireless network and that can be wifi or 2,3,4G SIM, am just a bit lost here, so if my phone is On vodafone network and i get a O2 Sim for the device, does that work? Does it still make a connection?
Also, I will he using this feature remotely, that means the car is park, no ignition and also the device will be off, could you please illustrate more details on these 2 topic.!!!

Hello Basheer. The best way for the Car Assist to work is to create a hotspot from your cell phone and have the mirror connect to it. I say this because live video takes a lot of bandwidth and could easily use up all your 4G data if you use a sim card. With that being said, you can have two different mobile providers, one on your phone and another on the mirror and still get the remote notifications (for example if your car was hit or started while you are away, you will get the alarms). I have tried remote monitoring using the same mobile carrier and it worked ok for me. However, what you are proposing to have different providers on both devices I have not tried for Live video. But I think someone mentioned in another comment that they were able to get it to work. Either way, the mirror does monitor even when the car is turned off like you mentioned but it lasts about 24 hours before you need to recharge the battery. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching!
I have been trying to find one that will work in the US. We run bands 2, 4, and 5 (3G and 4G frequency). Does this company sell a model to sell in Canada or the USA? I haven't been able to find a single company marketing a 3G or 4g Android rear view mirror product. It doesn't make sense because all of the same products are available in dash.
You did a very clear and concise review if the mirror. The only downside of the second camera is unless I misheard your comment, It is not weatherproof, and needs to be hard wired as well.
Hi Pan. As mentioned in the review, the back camera is indeed Weatherproof, so there is no problem at all installing it outside of the vehicle! And you only need to connect it to your reverse bulb if you want it to act as an automatic backing up camera when you shift into reverse to see what is behind you. If you don't wire the camera to the bulb, it still records everything behind you and can show you the view behind on command when you need it. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Hello Mangasketch, as stated in the video, the stand-by mode lasts around 24 hours, so the mirror will be able to monitor while the vehicle is off without the need of a hard-wire kit for that amount of time, which is great. However if you do not use the vehicle afterwards and recharge the mirror's battery then it will stop monitoring. Hope that helps!

However after two days of trying I notice that the product even if it is plugged it will not turn on . Hello, Janah. Are you using the original lighter charger that the mirror came with, or are you using a different one (hard-wire maybe?). If you are using the original charger, and it still does not power on, you might have a faulty unit. Even with the battery fully drained, the mirror should power on. You can also try to connect it to another vehicle in case maybe there is an issue with your car's battery. If that doesn't work, then you might need to return it. Hope that helps!

Hi Kim. The Auto Vox is a good backup camera system, but is is really very different and a lot more basic than this mirror that has so many features. I will send a recommendation for you.
I tried using web base tracking to track it via gps but is not viable. Tracking is possible if using network provider and not gps provider
great review. Can i ask does or can the mirror work off of a mobile phones gps signal when its connected? It seems odd that you need to use a gps attached aerial when most people are going to connect their smartphones up to the mirror and all smartphones have a more than adequate gps on them. Hi Chris. Thanks for your comment. Since the mirror itself does not have an internal GPS antenna (it really should in my opinion), if you only connect it to the phone's Wifi then GPS and navigation apps may not work properly or only get very rough approximation of your location provided by the phone's signal towers. GPS data is not sent from the phone to the mirror through Wifi, so for best results you should install the mirror's GPS antenna. You could install it right behind the mirror on the windshield, you'll just have to tuck the cable out of sight in the headliner. Thanks for watching and for your support to the channel!

Hi Glenn. Yes. That is a 1080p recording from the mirror. However, since CZcams compresses the video for online viewing, the actual video file produced from the mirror is a bit better, but you are correct: The image is indeed soft. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I would like use the device mainly in mirror mode, I mean generally nothing on the screen? Does it automatically turn on and switch to back camera mode when I change my gear to reverse?

Yo can leave the screen off by pressing the power button once, then the screen will remain off and if you connected the backup camera to the reverse lights, then the screen would turn on when you shift into reverse to show you the rear view and it would turn back off when you shift forward. Hello, Abdurrahman. With this recorder you could install it to do what you mention by installing the back camera on the front windshield. But, you will need to hide the cable as it is very long since it is designed to go all the way to the back of the vehicle. However, I think that this other option would be a better solution for your specific needs. This dash cam records both the outside and inside of your vehicle in HD quality. Hope it helps! I have one more question. So I installed the backup camera on my trunk. The issue I have now is that the objects are far away from the car rear bumper. However, they are shown so close on the screen! This is so wierd. I know I can kind if displace the backup guideline but it does not help to solve this issue. Do you think there is sth wrong with the backup camera?

Do you know any product that has all the functions as this one with similar price that can (portable) attach to either windshield or dashboard.. Hello Dutch. Yes and Yes. The mirror can do both at the same time. First you connect your bluetooth device to the mirror and second, you connect the mirror to your head unit with the FM Transmitter and you can enjoy both your music and calls hands free from your car's speakers! Hi Tanner. Taking advantage of the mirror's 'sleep mode' you won't have to wait the 20 seconds needed to boot to use the backup camera. All the mirror's functions will be available to you immediately after you turn the ignition on! That is, unless the battery has died completely and needs to recharge. Thanks for watching!

Hi Kim. On a full battery, the low power mode has lasted me over a full day. Do note that the camera is not recording while the car is off. It can only take pictures when the alarm is set off. And, in order to get the notifications you will have to add a sim card with data.
Of course, you can hardwire the system if you buy it separately. Then you can leave the mirror recording constantly.

Hello apetrii. If you want to keep the mirror on constantly even after you turn your car off (so it keeps recording, etc), you can connect it so that it always has power from the car's battery. To do that, you need to buy a "hardwire kit". This mirror comes with a regular lighter socket plug for power, but a hardwire kit is not included. So if you need one, you need to purchase it on your own. Have a look at these for example and find one that suits your needs: goo.gl/rKsqNb
Do you know how to perform a factory reset using only the power and reset buttons ?
Some of these units you can reset by keeping the power button pressed while repeatedly pressing another button (volume, etc?) I don't know if that works with this unit though.

Hello Aishah. Try changing the way you insert the sim card. You should see the network indicator bars when it is properly installed.

Hello Alejandro. You are exactly correct! You connect your phone to the mirror by Bluetooth, then you turn on the FM Transimtter and use the same station on your car stereo. Whatever you play on your phone (videos, music, calls) you will hear on the car speakers! Es facil!

Hi Ryan. Try to connect the mirror to your phone's Wireless Hotspot. Also make sure that you are fully logged into the app either using your Facebook or Wechat account. I've always used Wechat and it workes without any issues. Let me know if it helps.

Hello, Shen! Yes! You can download "offline maps" and you can use the navigation without wifi. It will use the map stored on the device and the GPS to give you directions. I am using this mirror and its great. I have attached a new rearview camera and it displays very nice on the mirror. The only problem is that the image is not mirrored. Is there a setting to flip the image left to right/right to left? Thanks
Hi R Knoop. If I remember correctly, having the original camera, you will notice that on the camera cable near the end where the camera is connected there is a thin blue wire. You can try cutting this wire to reverse the image shown on the mirror. Let me know if that helps.
There is a blue wire on the Original camera, but that camera is working ok. I needed a bigger angle of sight, so I bought another one. This one has no blue (or other) wire on it. If I understand correctly, the camera itself needs to have the 'mirrored' view option. I can't flip the image on the headunit in the settings?

Hi again, Vlad! I see you are talking about a 'Top View' parking camera system. Unfortunately, this mirror is not designed to be part of a top view multi camera system and cannot be used for that specific purpose. You can however install the front camera as suggested, and the backup camera you may place anywhere you prefer in your car to help you with getting a better parking view.

Hello! If you purchased this same model, then the Car Assist already comes pre-installed in the mirror. You only install the app on your phone to connect to the mirror. If you have a different mirror that does not have the app installed, please contact the seller and ask them if they can give you an software update (firmware for the mirror) that comes with the Car Assist app installed.
Hi, my mirror dash cam is locked by pin, i can't remember it and can't factory reset it. Tried enter recovery mode but end up with a broken android screen and can't pass trough.

Hello! This mirror only includes a one page quick user guide. When a video is locked by the accelerometer, it should be stored in a separate folder in your SD card. And probably the reason why the mirror says low battery is because the USB port from the computer does not provide the required amount of amps for the mirror to start. The mirror requires about 2.2 amps and most usb2 ports on computers only provide 0.5 amps which is not enough to start the mirror. Remember that the easiest way to transfer and view files is to just remove the SD card and plug that to your computer.

Hi Dave. Can you share where you purchased the mirror from? The one shown here comes with the CarAssist app already pre-installed and it's already part of the system. There is no need to install it. One sure way to tell is that on the main menu, under the compass there has to be a little car icon. That means that it is installed. If you see a folder icon instead, talk to your seller and ask if they can send you the one with the remote monitoring app.

This looks like an awesome product! Just curious tho the mirror has no flip switch for night driving. Does it auto dim or are headlights behind you just something you have to deal with?
Thanks, Daniel! It is a really awesome device. To answer your questions, due to the touch screen and LCD, a flip switch is not implemented in this mirror. But I've had no issues with headlight reflections blinding me while driving at night. As far as the auto dim, since the mirror is not hardwired to the car, you will need to use the easily accessible on-screen brightness dials to dim the display at night. It will not auto-dim when you turn your lights on. Hope this helps!

Daniel Gartland To answer to your question there is no anti glare on this mirror... BUT it doesn't reflect light as good as a mirror either... . So you won't be blinded eventho there is no anti glare system. I know I'm very sensitive to that but I've been almost never annoyed with that with this mirror

Hi lunatrics. Yes, some do sell permanent replacements. However you need to search according to your specific car model because they are not a 'one fits all' type product. You can search Amazon or Aliexpress for models similar to the one on this image: prntscr.com/fxfodw. Keep in mind that, other than being a more permanent replacement, these mirrors will work very similar to the clip-ons.

For some reason you'll find the replacement models to be double the price, with less features. And they tend to be backup cameras only.

Hello, Peter. Unfortunately, the user manual is not very helpful and that's why we make these videos to help everybody understand the functions better. I'm glad that our video helped you work out the mirror's operation. To check if the mirror is muted, thus why you are not getting any sound, please select the green "driving video" icon from the home screen (the one with the camera symbol). Once inside click on the Gear icon and look for the microphone option. Make sure that it is selected and activated. I hope this helps you solve the sound problem. Feel free to write back! Hello, Iisus. You can try this in several ways. First, try turning on the mirror on before connecting it to the PC and see if the computer recognizes it. Another way is to install any cloud storage app on the mirror. Move your music files to the cloud, then download them on the mirror to the internal storage. Also, you can try apps such as 'SHAREit' that send files between devices wirelessly. This should help in getting your music playing from the mirror! Let us know how it works!

Hello Kasra. You can perfectly connect the iPhone by Bluetooth and play music to your car stereo using the FM Transmitter. It works well! As for mirroring the Android phone this should work fine also. Just look for "Screen Share" app and install it on both the mirror and your android and you should be good to go! Hi Kasra. Were you able to successfully pair your phone with the mirror by Bluetooth? Click on the Bluetooth icon in the main menu to pair it. Also try turning the FM transmitter on or off and make sure to tune the same station on the mirror and your radio. Let me know how it goes!

Can this be us as a rear backup camera with alert?
Hi Mike. The backup camera for this system serves 2 purposes. 1- It constantly records what is happening behind your vehicle and 2- It shows you the view behind you when you shift into reverse. However, this camera does not have any proximity sensors or alarms. You can see however the proximity grid-lines to help you with distance. Thanks for watching!

HI John. As you can see here clip: czcams.com/video/fW_PavSv91k/video.html the SD card is inserted on the top of the mirror. And you can buy SD cards pretty much anywhere these days (Walmart, Target, Bestbuy) or any online retailer of your choice (Amazon, eBay, etc)

Rear camera only. Can't seem to find one with the correct plug-in for the mirror. Most of the rear cameras I have seen have jacks for a monitor.
Can you monitor yr car remotely via Bluetooth or wi-fi if it's in range ? On yr tablet or android smartphone???
Hi Grant! You can monitor the mirror whenever it is connected to a WiFi or Mobile network. So, you don't really have to be in range of WiFi to monitor if you install a data enabled Sim card for example. The mirror could be across the globe and you would still get notified. i have a driver side and passenger side i have to tie into the rear view mirror to get the auto dim to work ill wire into my rear view mirror theirs a pink and brown wire i want to hook them up to the wires o the rear view mirror then all auto dim will work drivers side passenger side with be running off the rear view mirror is this possible
Hello, Steven. I'm not sure I understand correctly. You want to wire the mirror so that it auto dims when you turn the car lights on? Unfortunately this mirror does not have an auto dim function. You need to manually dim it according to your preference. Hope that helps.

Hi Kelvin. From what I have noticed with different models or mirror recorders, sometimes may be due to the lighter power supply not providing enough amps/current to the mirror and it does not have sufficient power to run both cameras. Try disconnecting the back camera and run it only with the front to see if the issue continues or not. If the front camera works fine with the back unplugged, then it may be the power issue and you could try getting a new power adapter with the required amperage. If the problem persists with only the front camera, it may be another problem with the unit. This mirror model is a bit old now. Thanks for stopping by!

HI James. Since the mirror's OS does not have a native dialer, then no, you can't use it as a phone with the SIM card. You could however use it for Whatsapp and Skype or other Internet calls if you'd like. There is also a newer 4G model for this mirror. Check out my other videos and see. Thanks for watching

Hello, Lisa! The navigation apps (Google Maps, Waze, etc) will display the speed in your preferred unit (MPH or KPH). However the home screen compass can only display KPH and cannot be changed. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
Does it have a Motion sensor? For Parking mode.
Hi Jonny. While it does not have the common 'parking mode' that records video if motion is detected in front of the camera, it does have the alarm functions that work while you are away. So, it will tell you if someone hits your car and take a picture plus give you the GPS coordinates, which is pretty cool!
Fitted mine today, love it. Haven't tried it with a sim yet, using my mobile phone as a WiFi Hotspot for the mirror to gain online access at the moment. Is it possible to gain access via my mobile phone to the mirrors live feed or saved videos whilst being away from my vehicle?
Hi Robert. You need to be connected to the same network to be able to access the live view or the saved videos on the SD card. The main problem while trying to do this away from the vehicle would be that once you turn off the ignition the mirror will go into standby mode. One scenario could be to leave the ignition on and connect both your cell phone and the mirror to your home network. Then you could do it. Alternatively, you could just remove the SD card and take that with you to view the videos.
So if I'm on O2 and I get a O2 sim for the s3 plus then it would work when not near my vehicle as long as the mirror isn't powered down?
That's right, Robert. When you power off your vehicle, the mirror will go into the standby mode but will continue to monitor. So if someone bumps or starts the car you will get an immediate 3G notification. The only scenarios where this wouldn't work would be if you manually power off the mirror or if the standby mode drains the battery completely.

Hello, Adam. Yes, you can do this two ways: you can connect the mirror to a PC via the mini usb port and copy the files to the internal memory (there is around 16gb). Or you can simply copy the movie to an SD card and insert the card into the mirror without having to move anything.

If you cover the rear view mirror would it block you from constantly monitoring the cars that are following you. Does the law allow you to cover the rear view mirror. Does the GPS use regular GPS satellites or do you need a mobile phone in the car?
Hi Nat. This mirror allows you to see behind you just like your original car's mirror. If you feel the screen blocks your view, you can dim it or completely turn it off. In most places, installing this mirror is not an issue, but I would recommend to check what your local law indicates to make sure you won't have any issues. And, the mirror uses it's own GPS to connect to satellites. It does not require your cellular phone to connect to GPS. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

Yes. You can use the camera without connecting it to the reverse bulb, but if you want to see it full screen you will have to select it manually from the menu. Also, the LEDs won't turn on

Got the mirror about a month ago. Nice mirror but, here are a couple of things that I'm still working on. 1. I can only seem to get 2G and incredibly slow speeds. I have only tried it in a few places but, I am looking for a way to tweak it to get 3G. 2. It doesn't see my cellphone when I try to use it as a "hotspot" all the other devices that I own can see it. Worth the money as long as you don't mind playing with the settings with little to no help to be found online.
I've read that I=if you can root it, that you get development mode. I haven't found any roms for it but haven't looked very hard.

Hello, Maytham. Remember that there is a second connection on the camera cable that joins the long cable to the short camera cable. Please make sure that the short camera cable is connected all the way in to the longer camera cable, and check that the pins are not broken or bent. Also make sure it is pushed in completely on the mirror. Try disconnecting everything and reconnect it. If you are sure that all connections are correct, and you still have no image from the back camera, please contact the seller for them to send you a new unit.

Hello, Samuel. I am unsure of what you are trying to do. The mirror already comes with a backup camera, which is what it is designed to work with. Are you trying to use the mirror with a different brand camera purchased somewhere else? How come? Or are you simply trying to extend the cable?

Hi Samuel. I am not an electronic engineer, but not all backup cameras are compatible. Perhaps the voltage, signal or wiring is different and you may never be able to use the camera you purchased separately with the mirror. My advice is to use the one the mirror came with. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi Ricardo. It has not happened with any of our units. Is the street you are driving through in an area where there are many tall buildings around it? GPS Should normally have a 3 to 10 meter inaccuracy which is considered within norm, but tall buildings make it even worse. You can try downloading the "GPS TEST" app from the Google Play Store to see if the antenna is properly connecting to the satellites. Also, where you place the mirror's GPS antenna can play a big part in how accurate it is. I usually install mine somewhere on the dashboard, the headliner or the door pillars so that it is able to pickup the signal without much interference. I hope that helps and good luck!

Do you have the Chinese version? the i can use voice control in Chinese? i believe it has this function that mention on the box.
Hi Tim. I'm not sure which version you mean. This mirror model comes with many different languages, and you can use Chinese and google for voice controls of course!

Hello again, Tim. I see what you mean. The model in your link seems to be an S3 PRO, which has a different software firmware. The one we reviewed here is the S3 PLUS. It is similar, but not exactly the same. The firmware for the S3 Plus is mainly for the American market and does not seem to have the Chinese voice controls you are looking for. I apologize.

Hi Ben. You can add any sim card, as long as you have data service on it (prepaid, monthly plan, etc.). However, if the sim card has no data then it won't be of much use.

Hello! You mean to install apps on the SDard? You can move most Apps from the internal memory to the SD card. You can also load music, pictures or videos if you want on the SD card. Just remember that the DVR videos are also recorded in the SD card and it will fill up quick.

Hello, Aziz. Even though your network is 4G, it should still be backwards compatible for devices that still use 3G. At least you should be able to get 2G if 3G is not available with your sim card.

Hello, Ecy. You should contact the seller. If the device is still under warranty, you might want to have it replaced. If it can't be returned, ask them about giving you the instructions on doing a full hard reset to see if that fixes the issue.
