  • This is Georgia, she has recently started learning to drive. This is her 6th driving lesson where we were mainly working on how to meet traffic on small roads and give way in tight spaces.
    we also worked on moving off uphill.
    The roads were busy with morning traffic so sometimes the drivers behind would get impatient. We talked about how to deal with hazards and others drivers
    How to drive safely. How to pass
    This video is filmed during a driving lesson. It is filmed for educational purposes.
    Throughout the video there are highlights to show how you should be driving safely.
    I hope this video will be useful! :)

    This was quite satisfying to watch, as a learner driver myself I know exactly how she feels when doing these very tight meeting situations. It’s definitely not easy but can be done with practice. Amazing teaching once again, very safe and patient. She’s gonna pass in no time

    that overtake on the bend was shocking! honestly have no words for the danger that some drivers just dont seem to care. this was a interesting lesson as i used to struggle with meeting situations but now i have been driving just over a year now it gets easier.

      Meeting situations get easier the more you practice
      The vehicle overtaking on the bend was outrageous! The vehicle ahead also manage to deal with it safely but that could have gone do wrong!

    I can relate to this learner feelings. I made some silly mistake at the roundabout and couldn't understand why I did it first. My instructor intervened. You're not alone. Good luck

    That was a really challenging lesson and she did well, there was a lot to take in, these meeting situations are not easy to master. Especially when you have people like at 17:14, who seem to forget they were once a learner driver too, not to mention also forgetting how to drive safely! I’ve had about 40hrs lessons and have my test soon, these videos have really helped.

      Yes Georgia is doing really well, it’s good to be aware of these things happen and how to deal with them calmly.
      Even is someone else is in the wrong, you always want to be defensive and deal with the situation safely.
      Good luck with your test and thank you for watching :)

    Brilliant teaching. I wish that my instructor were as patient and encouraging. I could not even imagine how fierce my instructor would be if I were to cross that roundabout like that. Great to watch especially when you were nearly driving in front of my door.

  • @maheshs4056

    It was quite stressful to see you go through those tight spaces! 😅
    There's a lot that's happening in meeting situations like this: co-ordination between the opposite drivers, deciding who has priority and who should move to the side, etc.
    I guess a true test of a driver would be such meeting situations in tight spaces, and not how they drive on motorways.

    • @ClearviewDriving
      @ClearviewDriving  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes driving on roads like this is much tricker than on a motorway
      But on motorways the situation can escalate very quickly

  • @lmc3307
    @lmc3307 Před rokem

    At 14:50 would it be a fail on test to not go through that space ? I’m not a learner but I wouldn’t have taken that gap unless the row of traffic coming the other way was very long.

    From your experience at what hour (of experience) on average do you take your clients to big roundabouts and dual carriageways? 6-9? 10-13? 14-17? 18-21? or more? She seems to be doing ✅
    Thanks.

    • @ClearviewDriving
      @ClearviewDriving  Před 2 lety

      Depends on how quickly the learner progresses and how confident they are
      But it’s usually around 12-15 for dual carriageways and around 15-20 for big roundabouts

    Hey. I wanted to ask you something. I applied for a provisional license one and a half month back and It was still under process. Today I saw status changed to transaction complete and it said “no license issued” why would that be? It filled the basic form and provided them my brp as well. Why would they reject the provisional?

    • @ClearviewDriving
      @ClearviewDriving  Před 2 lety

      Hey I’m not sure about that it’s best to call DVLA and find out from them.
      Generally there is a delay in getting a new provisional licence.
      Hope that’s helps

      @@ClearviewDriving thank you very much for your reply. I actually did try to ring them but one can’t reach their number. Must have tried like 50 times. Their web chat is unavailable and they don’t reply to email. But does “License not issued” generally means i won’t get a license? And if so, will they give an explanation why?!

    My biggest anxiety is meeting on small roads in a scenario where there are no gaps and one of you will have to reverse but there are already cars behind you...what then?!

    • @ClearviewDriving
      @ClearviewDriving  Před 2 lety +1

      You have to reverse with slow control so you have time to look around and steer

    Typical arrogant driver at 17:10 in what looks like a range rover. I don't want to generalise, but a lot of drivers in those type of vehicles are some of the biggest #ankers on the road.

    • @T-800SERIES
      @T-800SERIES Před 2 lety +2

      @@sarasaparilla2559 Turns out they become even more insecure when they are next to a much LARGER vehicle such as buses or lorries etc. I've practiced driving in a bus and have lost count of the number of frustrated looks I would get from drivers in SUVs. The instructor told me it has nothing to do with me being a learner driver in a large vehicle like a bus. More to do with them feeling "small" and "powerless" when a much larger vehicle like buses, trucks, lorries etc pass by. According to some instructors i've spoken to, those drivers don't like to be made to feel "small" because they are so used to feeling like "big bullies" the majority of the time whenever they are amongst normal sized cars. There's clearly some psychological, hierarchal behaviour on the roads.

    That overtake around that bend was dangerous. Too many people like that i personally had someone tried to overtake me when im entering a small tight junction, they have to back off at the end, sad people are so impatient to learners and get away with that, my instructor says they dont want people too slow on the road but at the same time these people like this shouldn't have had a licence if they cant learn how to be patient.
