  • The Volvo Sensus infotainment system is a 9.0-inch portrait screen that's used across the Volvo range (including the XC40, XC60 and XC90 SUVs). It comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is controlled entirely as a touch screen. Is it good, and is it confusing needing to take your eyes off the road to use it? Paul Maric finds out!

I've been on the fence about buying an XC-90 for my parents for months now, the sole reason of my worry is its infotainment system.
Since all the control of the car (including the climate control) are accessed through the infotainment system, I'm still a bit perplexed on buying one for them. It seems a bit silly for Volvo to do such a thing.
Might wait for the next generation XC-90 to buy, IF they fix the control of the car.
    Great review as always, cheers.

If you’ve been “on the fence” this long, you probably never will

Some buttons and dials are better than everything on screen. Especially for HVAC controls.

An interesting method of presentation Paul. I feel quite exhausted after watching your reviews. I’m a car nut and consume what I can on cars I’m interested in as well as those that help me become a better automotive detailer (transition to retirement job/business). Your relaxed style is excellent and as an Industrial Arts teacher of 40 tears experience would love you to just slow down a bit, oh and be careful which finger you use and when for accessing the infotainment system in your car reviews 🖖🏼👆🏼👈🏼👍🏼 😛😎

Should have tried Android Auto to see if it goes full screen

The fact you can't adjust temperature/climate via knobs is the single thing keeping me from getting this car

That’s what I thought before buying my xc60 but in all honesty, it’s pretty easy and I honestly don’t feel the difference. The screen is responsive and fast. If that’s what’s keeping you from getting the Volvo, trust me get it.

    Hi,
I drive a S90 Inscription, come with only 1 usb port.
Volvo ask for 300£ - 400$ to add the second usb to use Android Auto.
Pls let me know if is a good point to spend that money.
    Thanks

just dont get the moaning about the lack of physical climate dials... I mean, lots of people in reviews mention that... how many times you need to adjust temperature...? its not like we suddenly change to a much warmer or colder place innit?
