Keep up the feedback everyone I need it! One note about the music though for people who are asking. If this is a permanent format change the ominous music is still in the cards for most videos. I just thought this was more appropriate for this film in particular.

i approve your really handsome 😍
You should have an ominous goblet of some sort, like a skull or something overly ornate
I think the old style with just movie footage is better for the main body of the video, it sort of immersed you in the story and characters. I think an introduction and outro is a great place for you to appear, like Alfred Hitchcock Presents or the Twilight Zone.
That is a sound assessment and good advice.
Just wanted to add a comment for the engagement gods, that sounds like an awesome idea
I agree, especially with the aesthetic of his set. The fireplace and everything makes him look like he’s going to go “hello and welcome to our show tonight”
you read my mind!!
That sounds like a balanced approach.
It blows my mind how sadistic Blonde was. He didn't even have to be. As a pro he should know its smarter to not mix business and pleasure.
In the words of Gandolfini on SNL "unless the business is prostitution"
To put it in perspective, Mr. Blonde and Vincent Vega from _Pulp Fiction_ are supposed to be brothers. How screwed up do you have to be to make Vincent look like the reasonable one?
@@gelchert i didn't know Pulp Fiction and Reservoirs Dogs were connected. But that is a strong point. Vega is way more humane than Blonde. Even though they're both killers. One, it's all business and not personal. The other is a stone cold psycho who wants to hear you scream.
@@kokayinewsome9308 Tarantino wanted to make a prequel about the two of them for years, but finally gave up when he realized Michael Madsen and John Travolta were too old to play their younger selves.
@@gelchert i imagine it would be like From Dusk till Dawn, with Clooney and Taratino as brothers.
I like how much of an underdog Mr. Pink is. He gets the worst name and is generally treated like shit, but he makes it out alive with the diamonds. He was the smartest one from the beginning, being the only one to be aware of what a big scam tipping is.
I don’t think he got away. The ending had the cops on the scene outside when he was leaving. None of the main characters survived this movie.
Mr. Pink is arrested at the end. During Mr. Orange's confession to Mr. White, you can hear the cops outside telling Mr. Pink to drop the bag.
Cops: "Drop the bag, get out of the car!" Mr. Pink: "Don't shoot, don't shoot!" The voices are very low and it's hard to hear, you have to really turn up the volume.
Also we hear no gunshots outside before they storm in the building, so it's a safe bet that he just got arrested.
In the videogame (2006), Mr. Pink gets 3 possible endings based on player action: shot by police, arrested or escape.
I agree totally about Mr Pink.
However, he did inspire one of the greatest pop artists of all time. (PINK)
Also, good to see the face behind "The Eye"
@@autobotsrock Didn't she get the idea for her stage name when he showed her pussy to a male friend and she found it funny when he loudly exclaimed "IT'S PINK!"? That's the story I read once.
Mr Pink went into hiding, and was working as Buddy Holly at Jack Rabbit Slims.
Fr he was
YES I’ve had this theory for soo long and with someone would have the same opinion
Tarantino still needs to give us the Vega brothers movie.
@@williamj.dovejr.8613 definitely
@@williamj.dovejr.8613 Michael Madsen and John Travolta are just too old now.
I quite enjoy seeing Shel Silverstein narrate about the evils that surround me on a daily basis.
Guess Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout really was evil all along.
Only cuz she left the light on in the attic after not taking the garbage out
Actually know what it might just be a skin stealer those guys seemed evil af
This made me chuckle cause I thought the same thing
LoL bruh
It's nice to know there's (likely) a real man behind the voice! So many of the channels I sub to are narrated by AI. It's a welcome change of pace!
hes done streams so hes real
What if I told you that this could still be AI?
Look at that beard..... stunning. Great film, literally watched it the other night.
@@mattmarzulaThat's why "(likely)" was the chosen conditional. I never completely believe what I see/hear online or on TV/radio.
AI is taking our jobs.
The only redeeming trait of Mr. Blonde was his loyalty to Joe and Eddie.
And his dance skills
Dont forget his swag bro!
...and that he is a big fan of Lee Marvin🤣
This is one THE BEST movie's that I've seen before. The dialogue, the story EVERYTHING shows you that you dont need a big budget to make a great movie.
Damn... Kratos is looking fine even today + far more sophisticated and laid back then before.
Quiet boy!! 😂
Dreammmm onnnnnn
No homo he be looking good
Now I have a thought, analysing evil, Kratos (both Greek and Norse)
@@bosunbill9059 By any probability that happens: Vile Eye would end up referencing this comment (doubt it, but I'm honored) and would cos-play as Kratos, maybe doing a doable voice throughout to immerse the viewers, it almost feels like a self-reflection cataloging, which is furthered when he reveals at the end of the video that he was projecting his "younger self" like in the DLC...
I'm unaware just how dedicated he actually is however, just a thought, I would fill in those ideas if I were as broad, which unfortunately I am not.
It's so good to finally see the man behind the channel. Thank you for such great content over the years.
He appeared in a livestream where he ranked all the characters he's analyzed.
@@barrybj cool! Thank you, I had missed that one, I guess.
Take a shot every time he says the word "criminal" I dare you
Start at 5:13 I dare you. You’re dead of alcohol poisoning by the 6th minute 😂
I absolutely love the fireplace backdrop. Gives a fireside chat vibe
A popular theory is that Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction took place on the same day, hence the lack of police intervention in PF and both of them take place in California.
Mr Pink turned into “Buddy” real fast then 😂
I always thought it was in the same universe im pretty sure Vincent & Mr Blue are brothers or something. Think they have the same name, and steve buscmi plays mr pink in reservoir dogs & then plays the waiter “Buddy” in pulp fiction. Tarantino is a genius and no matter how we wanna interpret the stories they’re all great lol
@@yallTweakinVincent Vega and Vic (Mr Blond) Vega are brothers in the main Tarantino universe. There is also the Kill Bill/Death Proof/From Dusk Till Dawn “Movie” universe and the Elmore Leonard universe, which Jackie Brown belongs to as well as other film adaptations of his works.
@@flushfries5633thats it mr blonde my mistake! Thank you
Mr. Pink died years later in Desperado
If you listen closely to the ending, you can hear Mr. Pink being arrested by the police. Nobody got away with it.
I'm convinced he says, "Don't shoot, I'm a cop."
It’s also confirmed in the video game that he survived.
@karnasaur Pink was definitely smart enough to play like he was involved with Orange, to get near a car to take off.
@@Jackal_El_Lobo34i don't think that broken blocky mess is canon
Correct, you hear the sirens I think you also hear gunfire. So it is assumed that no one lives.
I prefer the old format but I am glad you are comfortable showing yourself. You have a beautiful voice and I love it when you read passages from a text. I am glad you have graced CZcams and us with your presence
*Mr. White = A two faced loyalist*
*Mr Blonde = A loyal sadist*
*The father and the son = the pragmatist*
*Mr Pink = The entitled self preservationist*
Another great film for study would be ‘Mystic River.’ The fact that the evil in the film is born out of tragedy rather than malicious intent makes it more interesting, in my opinion.
I love that movie. I think Clint Eastwood directed it, and it’s actually really complex. Like there’s not much real good or bad, it’s just super unfortunate.
I still think you're A.I.
Reservoir Dogs is a phenomenal film. It’s my favorite Tarantino film. The writing, the performances, the direction, the music… everything is brought together beautifully and Tarantino made a masterpiece with his debut and has continued to make masterpieces throughout his career. Great analysis man, Happy New Year. Take care!
His later films weren't bad, if a little indulgent. But I agree, R Dogs is definitely his best film by far.
Aint no wayyyy, the man the myth, the legend. The Vile Eye himself. Great channel, man. Appreciate everything youve done and do. Stay safe, sir!
While I like the experimentation on the formula and think the live footage is additive, I also think the live footage works best as an intro/outro format, and I also think the sonic quality of the mic/environment you used previously to record voice over hits the ear more "smoothly" when compared to the sound recorded in this setup. Keep up the great work!
old style is definitely where it's at
This takes me back to story time with Roald Dahl.
Your relaxed posture, the toned down lighting to bring the fireplace more into focus, the leather armchair.
You strike an impressive figure, and your voice completes the setting to a T.
Please continue with this format, I don't think i can go back.
I think the appearance of your real life self would work really well for when you’re covering villains from literature like other Song of Fire and Ice evildoers and Napoleon from Animal Farm for example since it would help to add more visual flair to those types of videos and make it feel like we’re going through the books alongside you. If you wanna do something like this for all your future videos though then that’s fine by me, do whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.
Exactly this imo. Would have fit really well with judge holden or ingsoc.
I absolutely love this idea, it hope that it gets implemented like you suggested
Personally I enjoy the old format where you were behind the camera
It just added a mystique to it
I will add, while I like knowing its not just AI, I'd hate to see Vile's face plastered across thumbnails like Asmongold. Asmongold says it raises clicks, but the same face over and over starts to grate when every thumbnail looks the same.
Yeah the older videos are better
He need a cloak to look more like some kind off Eldritch oracle
Yeah, this looks like a crackwise video. The older format had a slower, more mysterious feel.
Thank you Vile Eye these are my favorite videos. Always makes me think more about the characters.
Love the new format Papa Vile, have never seen this film but its my roommates favorite so ill have to check it out
That opening was amazing vile! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This for sure!! Love him sitting by the fire
Would love to see you cover Shang Tsung from the Mortal Kombat series. Such a fun, charismatic, scheming villain that has been a mainstay of the saga since it’s beginning!
I 2nd this!!!
It would be interesting to see a comparison of the Vega brothers. Victor was a cold blooded psychopath, while his brother was a more business like cold blooded killer. They were both killers, but Vincent seemed to have, an albeit broken, moral compass.
Both were also way too stupid to be career criminals.
I've been waiting so long to see what you look like and I thought you'd be older with gray hair but wow I'm just surprised as always when I finally see the face behind the voice if my favorite CZcamsrs! I am happy to finally see u who u are though, nice to have a face to go with one of my favorite CZcamsrs, keep up the good work man!
Good change. It's nice seeing the face behind the voice. Also excellent backdrop. Well done, and thank you for the videos. Always engaging and enjoyable.
I like the change. Especially with the fireplace in the background. Really puts in a nice storytelling element.
I like to show myself in a few clips throughout my videos as well. I feel like now a days it’s good to show the viewers there is a human behind the voice and not just A.I. Big fan of your content brotha, your narration and articulation is second to none. Can’t wait to see what you got cooking in 2024.
Vile, I imagined you as looking like a combo of the chef from The Menu and the food critic from Ratatouille.
It's entirely possible that Mr. Blonde became warped in prison and his reaction to someone triggering the alarm during the robbery made him panic because the thought of going back to prison after he had just been released terrified him.
Obviously he wasn't that terrified or he wouldn't be robbing banks in the first place
@@dudebro91-fn7rz Old habits die hard, especially when being an ex-con doesn't help job prospects and your old guys from before prison are now offering you work.
that does not fit the narrative whatsoever..Mr.Blonde is a cold, calculated psychopath. Prison is like a home away from home for him and the only type of people to get that bent out of shape and scared to go back are non violent, upstanding, good ole boy types that are scared of prison. Mr.Blonde is not the type to all of the sudden panic because he thinks hes going to get arrested...he kills because he likes it
I like the change a lot! Sometimes I find myself getting lost when it’s just clips from the media you’re covering. This format gives it a more focused feeling.
Would you consider doing a video on Gaston from "Beauty and the Beast"? I think your balanced analysis would be intriguing and the compare/contrast between the animated and live action versions would add some additional facets.
Love this format, Vile Eye. Very classy and adds variety to the channel. Great analysis, cheers.
Great video! Always wanted a video on the men of Reservoir Dogs! Also interesting change of style.
Some villain suggestions I think would be great are:
- Ralph Cifaretto (The Sopranos)
- Micah Bell (Red Dead Redemption 2)
- Dio Brando (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures)
- Heat by Micheal Mann
- Fargo by The Coen Brothers
- Casino by Martin Scorsese
I like the variety of picks in your comment, from anime and video games to Coen bros and Scorsese
@@abrahajil4176 Thanks! I really like how he is open to covering villains from all types of different genres.
I prefer seeing you in the end of the video, the intros with "Hello everyone" put onto a scene of the characters is one of the most ingenious ways to start videos in the past few years.
Love the beard, too :)
We actually do know what happened to Mr. Pink. It's quiet, so you have to turn up the volume a bit, but you can hear the cops yelling at him and shooting him. None of them survived the robbery.
A fireside chat with the vile eye ... fantastic.
From Sauron to Tarantino I love the juxtaposition. Thank you 💯❤️😈🤖🫡
I can see these new changes being a good idea. Especially the choices of background music for each video. Perhaps even an outfit and a choice of drink to compliment that particular theme, when appropriate?
I love having you present I’ve been watching for a little while now I want to say since like episode 30 and honestly it’s an amazing change of pace
In the same vein of career criminals, I would love to hear you analyze Walker from “Point Blank” / Porter from “Payback”. Two unique takes on the Parker character from Donald Westlake’s masterful crime series.
I always thought your voice was horribly monotone and even worse than my friend and colleague Like Stories of Old. The opening shot of this video instantly turned your voice into a glorious thing (it's the beard and the fireplace). So keep up the on-camera appearances! The intro and outro might be the way to go though and I say this from an audience perspective not from a fellow creator perspective.
i’ve wanted to see this one done forever. this is right up there with pulp fiction, kill bill, and django as my favorites from tarantino
Love the series! The villain from The Third Man, Harry Lime would be great to analyze. As he is so multifacetted and poses a rare perspective friendship and love.
I like the new format you have for your video! Good to see a face with the name, or should I saw a face with the Eye. 👁️
Was hoping to see the following covered one day:
- Joe Cooper (Killer Joe)
- Nino Brown (New Jack City)
- Jake "The Muss" Heke (Once Were Warriors)
- The Always Sunny in Philadelphia gang
- more James Bond villains
I hear Jake Heke, and I am instantly filled with hatred, good call!
So...... that's what you look like? I respect it, keep up the great work.
Rewatched Reservoir dogs recently. Still one of Tarantino’s best
Love this episode diagnosis. Love the new style format! Keep up the good work my friend
Love the experimentation! Its great to see you my man! I've been a fan for years!
Reservoir Dogs is one of my favorite films ever, it's good to see The Vile Eye in person and reveal yourself
Same here!! Love it and it’s my second favorite Tarantino film!!
Reminds me of when Soap’s face finally gets revealed in the 2009 Modern warfare 2 campaign ❤
@@nathanslay6342me too my Top 2 favorite Tino films are 1:The Hateful Eight / 2: Reservoir Dogs ❤
@@nathanslay6342damn shame we don't see what really happened at the Robbery though, but it was some massive fuck up 😂
@@jamestoner3900 we didn’t need to
What’s funny is, you have the perfect look for a guy who talks about evil a lot. You should complete it with a Dracula or Devil costume.
Great video! Another great one would be the prison guards in the 1996 film Sleepers, and how they turned two of the four boys under their supervision into career criminals.
I love the fireside chat type thing you are doing and I think adding yourself into the videos is a great improvement to them. Thanks for all the great videos
The analysis of one of my favorite Tarantino movies is absolutely fantastic! Great work and thank you!
Also that's an epic beard your sporting well done.
I definitely prefer the old format. It was the perfect blend having the clips for the visuals, and your amazing narration for the audio. Would recommend making a poll if you're considering making this the new standard. Amazing videos regardless Vile, Happy New Year!
14:55 mr. Pink was actually heard being aprehended, when the police sirens near the dying mr. Orange confessing his true identity to mr. White
It’s nice to finally see you Mr. VileEye! I love your analyzations! Keep up the great work!
That beard is majestic.
I do like the videos, which are constantly excellent; but noticed that first.
A lot of very good thoughts on criminality and the essence of a job. This video builds on former ones, but with a clear general philosophy feeling, not simply character study. Very much enjoyed it.
Happy new year vile! LOVE the new opening! Keep going!😊😊😊😊
I MUCH prefer this new video format. Actually seeing you visually giving the narration occasionally throughout the video is FAR more engaging than exclusively having a disembodied voice over.
It's nice to put a face to a voice. I've watched every video on this channel. Keep up the good work.
I love the detail that, if you listen closely, you can hear Mr. Pink being also arrested in the end. Despite being the smartest member of the gang and the only one to survive, karma still b*tch-slapped him
Mr Tarantino makes very good movies and always delivers with fantastic soundtracks ❤️
Youre set up is very soothing, much more stress relief from your cozy style
I like that you showed us who you are. It deepens the connection between viewers and creators. This was a great movie to analyze as well.
As a suggestion hav r you looked at the three protagonists from Grand Theft Auto V? Franklin, Trevor and Michael would be great subjects for your analysis.
AMAZING VIDEO Vile Eye!!!!!! Can you please make a video about Mason Verger next, he's the best villain in literature in my opinion.
If you listen closely in the last scene after everyone shoots each other and Mr. Pink sneaks out, you can hear shouting and gunshots which I've always thought meant that he died in a shoot out with the police though it is up to interpretation. Love the fireside chat feel of the in person sections. They're perfect for an intro/outro to get us immersed while having the normal move clips in the middle. Great video though, as always
I dig the new format! Keep experimenting and bringing new things! Love the channel!
I love the new style just got to say wouldn’t mind to see more of you
There he is, the actual man himself! For feedback, I'm on board with these sorts of changes and will watch the content regardless. Like, when it comes to these sort of light stylistic changes. The content is still very Vile!
What no way face reveal with a great movie
He did a face reveal during the tier list live stream before this, but yeah it's cool to see him in video!
I, for one, like having you in the video for whatever capacity you feel like!
This new format is great! Happy Vile New year!
You should definitely do this more for your future videos. Adds a type of extra layer to examining the character(s) in the subject.
0:02 THERE HE IS!!!
Awesome video! I came across one video last year, and have since watched them all! Great channel, I like the idea of you personally presenting an intro and outro and keeping the middle on footage of the characters! I think it cut back to you just a little too much! Also, I don’t think a plain black tee is vile enough, I’m not saying to go into crypt keeper territory, or a Rod Serling style suit, but something is missing… great backdrop, but maybe zoom out a bit and add candles, when I hear your voice, I imagine someone dark, mysterious and brooding, relaxing at the end of the day, but still focused on the evils of the modern world. I can imagine a wider view, with candles, and a darker set, lit by natural light, I don’t know what to change, but I like the new format, and will continue to watch!
My mom introduced me to this move when I was 14, the same age she was when it came out. Tarantino’s movies are really in a category of their own for the quality of storytelling.
Great video. Can you do The Good Son and The Bad Seed? I would love to see you analyze evil children.
For the next episode, Catherine Tramell from basic instinct sounds like a good idea !
Holy crap... you dissected the Hell out of this in a very short amount of time. I'm subscribing!
I like the face factor to the video. I have always been a fan of the pervious format with just clips and the voiceover, but I don't dislike this new approach, I think it works well and it adds a little something extra.
Another great video! I'm not sure if you read these comments, but I'd love to see an episode on Kirei Kotomine from the Fate/Stay Night visual novel. His character centers around his desire to commit heinous acts for pleasure despite once believing in morals and normality as a legitimate institution of society, and he finds himself wondering if him being born at all was a mistake. In his early life he attempted to live normally and even practiced Christianity and got married in the hopes of finding happiness, but even his wife's suicide only fills him with the anger that he couldn't do it himself. It's implied this is the last straw that made him realize he can never find pleasure in happiness. To justify this, he seeks to unleash a being that encapsulates all the evils of the world to prove that he himself deserved to live. His parallels with the main character adds even more depth to him, and he's easily one of my favorite villains ever. As a side note, the adaptations and prequels often complicate his character too much in my opinion. Look to the visual novel for the original and purest take on Kotomine. If you've read any of this at all, thank you!
One of my favorite movies. Thank you for that. As for the new style; I like it. Espically for a movie that takes such thought. An opinion of corse. If you chose to continue this sryle, I think it works and it is your channel. Either way the voice change options or in person along side the footage.
I will be back for more. The content.
I thank you for that.
I've been waiting so long for you to amke this video.
I love this movie so much. It's one of my all-time favorites. I recently introduced my college buddy to this, so this video could not have come at a better time.
The characters in this are what I can only call "Identifiably Unidentifiable." You get to know these characters as people. You get to know their likes and dislikes, how they act, and above all, how they interact with each other. So you grow to like them, which makes you conflicted when they commit crimes. True there are characters that are better than others, but neither of them is a full-on good guy. Mr. White wouldn't go on a killing spree like Mr. Blonde, but he would still shoot somebody if push came to shove. Mr. Pink was probably the most tactful out of any of them, but he still does some bad stuff. Even the rat, the cop among them, ends up shooting a civilian because they shot them. These are very complicated characters with only a little sense of morality if you're lucky.
Love seeing you in the video, I think it works really well. Gonna watch them all either way though! Happy New Year!
I've listened to a lot of your videos and I honestly thought it was narrated by a good AI, given how nice and consistent your voice is. I really like the change and happy to finally see the face behind the channel.
What an instant click, beautiful characters and beautiful analyzation across all the videos that help me as a new film major grow
Your videos are awesome man. Totally underrated in my opinion. Keep up the great videos!
I don't think Mr. Pink got away, at the end of the movie when he tries to leave with the stolen goods, you can hear the police outside arresting him. (Great video as always)
I think (it’s been a while) that you hear the police shooting Mr. Pink outside at the end. Either way, he definitely doesn’t get away.
This timing is literally perfect. I just watched the movie yesterday!
Great channel! Zero issue with the reveal. The set is cozy. The only thing missing is a gimmick. Ollie Davis. Dr. Wolfula, Ryan Aries. Keep up the good work
🖖
Great video!! Love the new video format
Cool to see you on camera. I've always appreciated your empathetic and thorough approach to discussing the myriad of motivations behind criminal actions. Having a face attached to that is nice. You're a good editor that can do a lot with imagery, but the face to face connection really makes it feel personal.
I was raised by desperate people and made a lot of poor decisions in my early life. It's often a struggle to feel like trying to do better is worthwhile because it's easy to feel like you can't change, that you are your circumstances. Its complex and it can feel like no one wants to understand. So when you take the time in your videos to lay out how any person can be changed in complex ways, for good or evil, I feel seen. When you take the time to speak those words to the camera, i really feel seen. It helps.
So thanks.
