      America is surely losing fast, what it took so long to give to others. Cherish what you have, and above all avoid the same mistakes of allowing it all to be taken away.

    "For as long as space remains, for as long as sentient beings remain, until then may I too remain, to dispel the miseries of the world". Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Jew, Hindu, or whatever belief system you follow, fill your heart with love for all beings, and joy will fill your soul, and you shall be at peace.

    First Prayer:
    With our thoughts we make our world.
    Our mind is central and precedes our deeds.
    Speak or act with a pure mind and happiness will follow you
    like a shadow that never leaves.
    Second Prayer:
    May there be joy in the world with bountiful harvest and spiritual wealth. May every good fortune come to be and may our wishes be fullfilled.
    Third Prayer:
    As long as space remains, and as long as sentient beings remain, until then may I too remain and help dissipate the misery of the world.

    What a beautiful prayer by a beautiful man. May this prayer remind this country's leaders of their true role. May their thoughts, words and deeds be joy filled and may they all help to dispel the misery of man.
    May each of those who are offended by the prayer, or by the Dalai Lama's attendance at the Senate, may they each mind their thoughts, their words and their deeds and may they each follow Christ's command to love each other.

    The Senate has an opening prayer? I thought the USA had a separation between religion and government?

    • @sambrinkley9120
      @sambrinkley9120 Před 7 lety +1

      The Congress does not recognize any official religion, in accordance with the United States Constitution's Establishment Clause, however they do have a general opening prayer which is read at the beginning of each session in spiritual fashion rather than in religious. In accordance with this delineated freedom, a Christian preacher, Jewish Rabbi, Muslim Imam, Buddhist Monk, or any other religious official may offer the prayer as a means of emphasizing the hopeful mission of the Congress for that session. Typically, the benediction is given in reference to any and all gods, as His Holiness does here. There is technically no place in the United States Constitution which specifically states "separation between religion and government," so this is not in violation of federal precedent. This is also a tradition which dates back to the formation of the United States government, and frankly all other age-old governments, when religion was a more uniform and unquestioned concept.

    The Dalai Lama is more Christlike than any of the "Christians" commenting here with their fear and their judgment. He didn't offer prayer to "false" gods, he didn't do anything that any Christian should even object to. His prayer said "Help disband the misery of the world." For those of you who call yourselves Christians and then spew your vitriol and your radicalism, that should be your aim as well. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Filthy hypocrites.

    • @grst6001
      @grst6001 Před 10 lety +1

      To my knowledge. In Buddhism, everyone is God. Its a pretty nice thought really. Don't worship a single, judgmental God, a God that will send you to eternal hell if you do not accept them.... Worship and love each other and yourself.

    Jer 1:15 For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith Adonai; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.

      Believe as you will, but the Lama's message was that of love and goodness.
      You may not agree with the method of worship, but both the Christ and the Buddha spoke near-identical messages.
      Listen to his words and see the meaning, not the delivery.

      "the Buddha" is not Elohim/God in the flesh and also it did not die and rise up from the grave in 3 days. "the Buddha" did not speak the earth planet stars and all that is seen and unseen into existence. There is only 1 true Elohim. The others are counterfeits. All other so called gods are in the grave still and will be judged by the only true one. Yahweh,

      Actually, closer to source material, the name would be Brahma, from the Hindu faith; not Yahweh. These tales are from long before the stories of Yeshua Ben Hur/Jesus and the Bible.
      Yeshua was a teacher along the same lines of Siddartha.
      I'm not going to try to explain it to you, your mind is made up.

    Again I'm amazed at the audacity of a group of people we elect to represent us slapping the majority of us in the face by allowing pagan prayer over our government. We allow a prayer that in it's content is directly opposed to biblical teaching. Forgive us God for what we have become and move over this land with revival and change the hearts of this land which You so richly have blessed.

    Buddha by no mean is God. Dalai Lama should know that very well. --There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.(Proverbs 14:12). Buddhism is one the most deluded and dangerous worldviews. The teachings kill your soul silently.

      @WorldLady Před 10 lety +9

      We are not a Christian nation. There is no mandated state religion. Each person is free to give God whatever name they want. At the end, we all pray to the same God. I don't see anything shameful in the Dalai Lama's prayer. He spoke beautiful words of love -- not judgement and shaming like you did. May be you can learn something from him.

      Zuowei Li The U.S. is a country that legalizes the killing unborn babiesby the millions and has legalized in most states Homosexual marriage to mention only 2.
      This country, as I live here and I know, has removed prayer from schools and teaches children in the 4th and 5th grades how to not become pregnant, and even allows them to cross dress, This country has wandered away from the Bible and unless THEY REPENT, they will be thrown into the Lake of Fire!
      Luk 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
      Luk 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
      Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
      Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
      Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
      THE U.S. NEEDS TO REPENT AS JUDGEMENT IS COMING TO IT!
      Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
      Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
      Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
