One of the many reasons I like the show, is the wonderful chemistry between the Heck's family actors:) It makes watching it so much fun, cause they do feel like a family. I love that show!

Patricia is a beautiful woman and a great actress. This show works much better for her than the Raymond show.
Thats cause theres a huge difference from being the Main characters wife to being the main character
Frankie is much more likeable than Debra.
The characters of Debra and Frankie are *totally* different: Debra was this hot professional girl from a wealthy family who married into the (lovably) crazy Barone family and had to struggle with keeping her dignified, classy background while really trying to blend in with the kooky new family she loved. Tough comedic role to play, but she nailed it and won two Emmys for it. Brilliant and nuanced. I like Patty’s “Frankie” just as much if not maybe a bit more than Debra because Frankie is no-frills, she knows they are regular working stiffs, and she’s “in” on the joke, in the inside of this family, rather than being the outsider to the Barone family. Both awesome roles. I’m stunned Patty did not get even one Emmy nomination for The Middle, because it’s a tour de force, but we all know why THAT didn’t happen. She shared some conservative opinions. I’m not a conservative but heaven forbid anyone hold a different personal belief in the pure, virgin circles of Hollywood. 🙄 I just love performers who are good at their jobs. The Middle is like comfort food for the soul.
Well Patty won two Emmys for Debra in Raymond so I beg to differ. That said I also love her as Frankie and she deserved to win an Emmy for The Middle too.

See, Patricia Heaton's hair looks great! I wish she wouldn't have worn a wig for every single episode of The Middle! I read that she said, it was her choice because it was easier than having her hair done every day and it saved time. But, wouldn't it have been nice if she didn't wear it all the time? Once in a while, would have been fine, but every day was too much and it got boring to see the same hair. I was glad when Sur finally cut her hair when she went to college. They made the episode, like it got cut by mistake or she was trying to cut it and screwed it up but then she fixed it...they should have done it long before that time...

Charlie McDermott is probably the best actor on the cast. So perfectly idiotic, self-centred, but vulnerable. Actually made me realise what an ass I must have been at his age. (I'm 49 now and hopefully much improved).
always wondered why patricia is getting paid 240,000 per episode dont know what the rest of the cast get but eden is worth 2 million and they are going onto their 9th season they should be worth more than that but brill show love them all in it
Patricia is the one worth 2 million easy as are the boys. Eden screams, yells & opens her eyes wide, that's it. I never knew why they offered her a spinoff but not surprised it did not pan out.

For me Patty's chemistry with the Everybody Loves Raymond cast is legendary and won't ever be topped. In fact, i avoided The Middle for years because i did not want to see her married to anyone else onscreen than Ray. But finally getting over that and becoming a big fan of The Middle, I also appreciate the chemistry with that cast and love The Heck family and how they feel like the most believable tv family in decades.

The only problem I have with this is how they made Axl treat Sue so shabbily and the parents didn't take him to task at all.... It wasn't teasing, it was harassment at the highest level.... And also, how Axl treats his parents.. That shouldn't have been tolerated..
Yeah I often feel she's the worst mom ever . Lazy , does not do any housework or cook , and bit psycho , but that's what makes it all worthy. Imagine them being normal parents , boring.!

I only have 1 problem with this show and that's having Axl go around shirtless so much. What's the point of that? If anyone should go around shirtless it should be Patricia Heaton lol.

joe smith I'm well aware of that and bullying is not ok, I loathe kids who torment and bully other kids to the point they feel they need to do that, but this show does not display that or glorify that in anyway. You need to pick and choose your battles, you seem personally effected by this issue for some reason, I think stopping bullying at all cost is paramount, but I think you're channeling your energy in the wrong direction.
