Atticus, I was on set for a press event for Episode 200 a few years ago, and I just wanted to thank you again for being so kind that day. I remember talking to you about the possibility of you directing. The entire cast was very welcoming to us as press which I appreciated and it was such a treat seeing the Heck house.
I actually live very close to the WB Ranch and it breaks my heart to see that so many of those buildings are being torn down. It's history...! Glad there will at least be sound stages, but it won't be the same.

Hey Atticus! This is truly touching and I'm glad you're able to share your story with us all. My family of 4 have watched the middle since it first aired. Friends and family always compared my brother Jason to your character Brick! Everything from looks to personality it was almost like looking in a mirror. If you need a stunt double let me know!😅

I love the middle
The Middle is a criminally underrated show. Unfortunately it came out at the same time as Modern Family, which sucked all the oxygen out of the room. Mr. Shaffer, you were part of a wonderful ensemble cast and you always had guest stars that fit right in. All the best and continued success.☮
Modern family was ass, never understood why that show was popular. The Middle was far better.

I couldn’t have clicked faster on this video. I sobbed when The Middle ended. Didn’t watch the finale because I wanted the family to keep going for me. It gave me comfort and continues to give me comfort. Finally gave in and it was beautiful.
My mom and I used to watch the middle together she always said she loved this "crazy family" she passed away in 2021 after a battle with Alzheimer's and dementia. I still watch the middle and it reminds me of my mom being home and us just laughing with the Heck family. Blessings to you and to all the other actors and those behind the scenes that worked so hard on this show you created memories. And you gave many of us so much laughter and memories too❤❤❤

My grandson and I used to watch “The Middle” together, and I bought all of the seasons on video. He’s 21 now, married, a Dad, and in the USAF, but we both still appreciate & enjoy the show.✝️❤️💚
I miss "The Middle" so much. It was a great show with such a great ensemble of actors. You were so good as Brick. You portrayed your character so well that we really understood Brick. That doesn't always happen.

I like this show also if you haven't watched King of Queens check that series out that's one that I never watched before than I fall in love with it.
@vaughn257 I watched The Middle while it was on air but started watching King if Queens after the fact. Shows in the early 2000s and earlier had no blatant political or SJW messaging. Topics were presented but def not like they are now. Everything is so woke. 🤦♀️🤦♀️

I worked on the Ranch in 2015 in the CW Building. We were making a Looney Tunes series called Wabbit. I watched you guys shoot so many episodes of your show. I remember a shoot where some actors sat on the roof and the Halloween maze shoot. The Ranch was a truly special place where animators and live action productions co-existed. RIP the WB Ranch

THE MIDDLE IS THE BEST TV SHOW OF ALL TIME **Wispers: of all time** It's sad to see the pictures of the teardown, but the middle will always be remembered. The real heartlands hidden gem. Thank YOU and Patricia, Eden, Charlie and Neil for raising me!
The middle is the most relatable of any sitcom for me which makes it underrated. You could easily encounter any of the characters in real life as could experience any of the events of show. Plus great acting consistently across all seasons isn't easy.
Funny that you said that because for the longest time, hubby and I swore the show had a hidden camera in our house. Every episode was like our life including the green placemats on the table, yep we had those too. The week that Sue got proposed to, my daughter got proposed to ( for example) . Love this show!

A lot of TV shows were filmed at the Warner Bros. Ranch Studio including at that familiar horseshoe shaped street with all the houses (mainly facades) where they shot ''Bewitched'', ''I dream of Jeannie'', ''Father Knows Best'', etc., and of course ''The Middle''.
I truly loved The Middle. For years it became a tradition, the begginjng of a new season, fall, thanksgiving episode, halloween episode, and Christmas episode .
Atticus, its great to see you've turned out to be a good man, with a good head on your shoulders. So many if not most child actors end up a mess. The middle is probably the most rewatchable sitcom of all time. God Bless you man

It broke my heart to hear of the ranch being destroyed. I was blessed to visit it towards the end of “The Middle”. Everyone fangirled for Friends, I fangirled for the middle. Not only your show but the Christmas Vacation & Lethal Weapon homes. It’s heartbreaking. 😔
The Middle is one of the most relatable shows I’ve ever watched. Each character feels so relatable to real life people in my life. Just a hard working, honest middle class family. The perfect formula for a hit show. Thanks for all the laughter and joy you’ve brought to the lives of many. You guys represented a segment of the country that isn’t glamorous, and isn’t often the subject of shows, but is real and represents the lives of a forgotten region of the country, between NY and LA. as a child, you made my day. coming home from school everyday just to finally be able to watch the middle and enjoy my favorite character (brick), thank you so much for being a part of this amazing show and becoming something i hold near and dear to my heart.
My 10 year old grandson watches the Middle every day. When he is here we watch together and pick our favorite episodes. Such a fun show. Sorry to hear they destroyed everything on the lot. We loved Orsen and the Heck family. Sending hugs from Michigan.

Hi Atticus!! I cannot believe this video popped up on my feed so unexpectedly, but I needed it! I worked on The Middle as your stunt double for a little while back in… I want to say 2016 or 17. I was only there for a little while, but I had so much fun! Background acting has been one of the best experiences of my life, and seeing WB Ranch brought back so many memories!! I’ve still never gone back to watch the episodes I’m in, as I don’t even remember which ones they were, but I DISTINCTLY remember running around with a trash bag on my head trying to take out the trash in the house.
Also, may I just say your guys’ crafty was unmatched. They always had the best snacks and food!
I’m heartbroken to hear that they’re tearing down the ranch, and though I spent far less time on it than you, I feel your sorrow.
It was great watching you show people around, and it makes me miss the show even more!

As someone who grew up in Indiana, The Middle was literally exactly like my family. My older brother is like Brick and I’m like Sue 😂 It’s one of my favorite shows. Hurt to hear about the tear down of the sets. The sets may be gone, but the memories last forever. Glad to see you doing well, Atticus!

I'm French and a fan. I came to visit Warner Bros Studios twice and I asked for permission to go to the Ranch Studios to see the house in the middle of your series. The House of the Lethal Weapon. the swimming pool etc. refused and I saw that it was destroyed. what a sadness. a shame.
Showing my age, but The Middle was a show my 3 kids and I watched religiously. Each character was so relatable to someone in our family. It made me laugh and brought me so much joy. Fantastic writing and wonderful actors…and Norm McDonald- wow, the scene with him letting you drive was one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing this, what a great trip down memory lane! You are a great talent. My daughter is a nanny for three boys, and two identical twins have autism. Your amazing quirks, and acceptance, by your series family are extremely similar to those that she encounters everyday. Thank you, and that series for allowing a new and different character to be introduced to this world.

The Middle (in re-runs) showed up on the local Austin, TEXAS station a few years ago. It took one episode for my family and me to get hooked! Every character was written with a huge amount of space to shine. The set designer did a fabulous job on the HOUSE which was THE BEST character of all! Fabulous show that everyone (in the family) can actually watch and enjoy.
Love the middle so much. It is on loop repeat in Australia. When the last episode airs it starts at episode 1 again the next night. I have seen every episode so many times. Such a funny heartwarming show. There were times when every character drove you crazy and other times you loved them all. So sad that the buildings have been destroyed. As an older person I grew up on I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched, The Waltons, The Partridge Family and to see all those houses go, as well as the Heck's and many others is heartbreaking.
We had such a fun time nerding out with you at WB Ranch. Such a thoughtful teenager you were. It’s like you’ve been 60 since you were born. Old soul, maybe. Thank you for the continued great content! ❤

So much American cultural history created at the Ranch. It's a tremendous loss. Thank you for this tour. On a side note, the Walton house was used on Gilmore Girls as the Dragonfly Inn from 2004 through 2007, that's what the yellow wallpaper is from.
Adam The Woo has a fantastic video of him touring the WB Ranch. He goes inside some of the buildings and speaks extensively about the different productions that occurred on each set / location. Recently I have heard they are clearing the land for soundstages…but who knows. It is a real loss of Hollywood history.

Yep. Adam filmed through the chain link just days ago. His video is a documentation of the end of the Warner Ranch. Huge machinery with long extension buckets to smash from the roofs on down. Homes used for Dennis the Menace, Mr. Wilson/Major Nelson, the Hecks, Bewitched and Hazel had the letter K painted on the front. I love this pretend neighborhood. I feel like I grew up here. I did get to drive through it in 96 via a friend. It meant that much to me. Halloween episodes with trick or treaters from Bewitched and the Middle are among my favorites. And speaking of the Middle, the funniest show on Earth. From Rita G. to Sue getting her yearbook back 😢

This makes me so sad, I’m a huge fan of *The Middle* and remember making my whole family watch the finale with me when it premiered while we ate dinner, I dramatically fake sobbed and everything lol. I bought every season on EBay, got scammed and rebought them from Walmart because I love the show so much. I would watch it everyday on Max until they sadly removed it. It’s such a comforting series and reminds me of my own life, as someone who also grew up and still lives in the Midwest (Ohio). Thank you so much for this video Atticus!

I STILL watch The Middle every single night, and on weekends when I'm doing things in the house - it is my background noise. I play seasons 1-3 over and over and over. 😄 I would kick anybody's butt in The Middle trivia!

Me and my husband started watching "the middle" back in Israel, we were even single then..now, years after we live in Texas and have three kids. First thing we did was ro realize we never finished it, so we started HBO max and we so excited to see how it continued and (unfortunately) ended. Now when I'm a mom it's just amazing how relevant this show is to our life, I watch it almost every day and even my kids started ro join. My Oldest son said the other day "we are like the middle boy-girl-boy". We love this show. We love brick! We love you all. Thank you for a wonderful creation

Great tour! Yes, I’m a big fan of your work as well as studio tours and history. As a kid we watched The Waltons together as a family every Thursda, long before electronics let alone the internet. My heart skipped a beat when you rounded that corner and the house came into view! Thanks!
I work in the animation industry and worked for WB for many, many years and most of them were on that Ranch. What a lot of folks don’t know is that the majority of WB animators considered the Ranch their home base. I will truly miss the ranch. It was relaxing to go on a short break and just walk amongst those house sets.

The Middle is by far my favourite show of all time. I’m in Australia and here when the final episode comes you know the next episode will be the one where Frankie dresses as Super Woman for Bricks school assignment. I have been watching the show for years now and I’ll be devastated if they ever stop playing it. Regarding your question about our favourite flowers mine is definitely the blue iris. I’m a huge Vincent Van Gogh fan and was lucky enough to see the original painting many years ago at an exhibition they had in Brisbane. On a side note I named my daughter Jasmine bcz I do love the Star Jasmine too and when she was born my garden was full of the beautiful smelling plants 🥰. It was awesome talking a walk around the studios with you so thank you 15 year old Atticus for having the foresight to film and share your iconic workplace. 😊

Atticus, thanks so much for the tour and for your insight about growing up on the Ranch. I completely understand how you feel about that area. I live in KY, but I can tell you that The Middle absolutely nailed so many things about IN culture and what it's like to be a lower middle class family. It was incredibly relatable. While the show lasted for 9 seasons, I can't keep from saying that I feel like it was underrated as other shows tried to be edgier and explicit, as streaming services took over the entertainment landscape. Patricia and Neil were fantastic, as expected (and I'd argue that her performance as Frankie was even better than her work as Debra), but you, Eden, and Charlie really made that show particularly special. You were each so different but real, and it was a treat to get to watch you and your characters grow up before our eyes from season to season. What a gift you gave us! The writers did an excellent job with developing those characters through the years. And kudos to your mom for protecting you and helping you navigate that. (whisper: Kudos)

So freaking cool to have found your channel! That show is hands down my family's comfort show to watch together. My son is 9 and has seen just about every episode. He's kind of the "quirky/nerdy" kid in his class. He isn't bullied but just hasn't found exactly where he fits in. He actually uses Brick as an example that he's great the way he is and that everything is going to work out eventually. I can't think of a better person or character for him to look up to! You're just an awesome, cool, and incredibly kind guy. Thank you ❤

Atticus, came across your channel last evening and this was the video that got my attention. First let me say, thanks for posting this. We are big fans of "The Middle" loved the show. I am also a fan of movie and television history and of the studios. Growing up with the Andy Griffith Show many years later I got the chance to visit WB and other studios as well as making a pilgrimage to Franklin Canyon where the Griffth Show filmed the opening scene where Opie threw the rock in the Lake and the former site of Desilu's 40 Acre Backlot which was the outdoor setting for the town of Mayberry. Fast forwarding, this video joggled my memories of visiting, unfortunately got there to late to get to see Laramie Street where so many of my favorite westerns were filmed, it was gone! I was not familiar enough with the area to know about WB Ranch at the time, not realizing it was just a short distance away and I don't think it was open for touring. The video you have posted here is priceless ! This is the kind of content I really enjoy. Seeing the Ranch through your eyes as child actor who was actually working there is down right cool ! Most of the actors and actresses I have met and talked to did not seem to have a particular interest in the history of the backlots or the preservation of them. Well, enough rambling for now, keep up the good work, I will be watching and sharing your videos as...I have just clicked the liked button and subscribed to your channel. God Bless You !

This was so awesome Atticus!! This is and always be my Families comfort show. It's hilarious has a lot of reality to it taken with Extremes in a lot of it... I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed all of the characters they each added to them. We were in love with you brick still are... We watch this pretty much every day. And when my adult kids come to visit. We watch this And will continue to in years to come... I love your vacation spots. I've been to both. I think you would love in California Yosemite National Park in Utah, You would love exploring Zion and Moab... The sequoias which is only about three hours away the giants wow!!! Thank you so much for doing this video I feel physically sick that they burnt all that history down. It makes me sad mad and heartbroken. I just don't think there was a reason for that that's just how I feel... Thank you For this in God bless you for sharing your faith and being. Obviously the amazing very bright person that you are and funny by the way😂❤
Atticus In the middle you always cheered me up when I was down from Barney the bookmark to Your song in the Graduation episode It’s Sad it’s all gone But We all know it in our hearts. And those memories live inside you for the rest of our lives. We Love you Atticus where all here for you 🥺🥹

It’s a shame to see the ranch be demolished. I had the opportunity to work on the lot back in 2002 and take in some of that rich history. But time stops for no one or nothing. Everything is changing. For the better or for the worse…it’s always changing. It happens everywhere and it’s always a reminder to take it all in while you can. Stay present. And be happy that you’ll always have the memories.
I love The Middle. Never failed to bring a smile to my face and joy to my soul. Thank you for your part in that. And thank you to all the others that worked hard to bring it into our lives. But all good things…
I believe Warner Ranch will become 16 new sound stages. And while the rich history remains in some form or another, new memories will be made just like the ones you made. And in time, everything will fade away.

Atticus, I'm so glad to see this. I was devastated when I learned what will become of the Ranch. I have some history there myself. Knowing the ranch so well, when I watch The Middle (my #1 go-to show for smiles) I know right where everything is. It never took anything away for me, it only added - it felt like home. Those old structures along Blondie Street were so rich in the storytelling that was once Hollywood. I can only imagine how gut-punched you feel, and I share that feeling with you.
The first memory I had of watching The Middle was coming downstairs and asking my little sister what show she was watching. It was "The Bridge" episode, and your character was got me hooked on the show, and I became a huge fan. I started binge-watching the series, and by the time the show ended I'd become a bigger fan than my sister

Its crazy to have watched the show at a young age and still enjoy it after the 20th time watching haha not only that but seeing my little brothers joy from seeing brick as i did at the same age it just hits hard
