- From March 24-27, the cast and crew of "The Middle" are taping scenes for the season finale episode around the Walt Disney World Resort. The episode will air on ABC May 21. "The Middle" stars Neil Flynn, Patricia Heaton, Atticus Shaffer, Eden Sher, and Charlie McDermott.

Its sad to think that ABC would cancel this show but keep Modern Family, i think The Middle was 10x better than Modern Family.

This show does not get the recognition that it so richly deserves. It's just a fantastic show. And for some reason it gets snubbed come Emmy nomination every year. And that's very strange because it seems like that Patricia Heaton got nominated every season for "Everybody Loves Raymond", but not for this. I think the whole cast deserves Emmy nods. The Disney World episode was hilarious and it was really cool seeing Mindy Cohn from "Facts of Life" playing a doctor.
Sometimes the best things never get awards.

I'm so glad the Heck's got their chance to go to Disney World. If I remember correctly, Sue was saving up on that trip. It's just so sad ABC seems to give more attention to the Modern Family which is not funny at all to a regular, normal American family going through issues like any other family goes through. The comedy is excellent. They really deserve it and I'm happy they got a new season.
+Daniel Goncalves I know what you mean. I love both Modern Family and The Middle, but for the past 4 years The Middle has been the better show. Totally deserves more attention.

I absolutely LOVE this show and do not think it gets the recognition it deserves. I am excited to see the family in WDW though it'll be interesting to see how they afforded to go. I'm assuming they win a competition or something. Either way, should be a great episode!
in 2 episodes, Sue mentions that she has a money jar in her room that's specifically for a Disney World trip, and she's been saving up for it since she was a little girl. This was actually mentioned a couple episodes ago. I'm so happy for them that they get to go on a dream vacation. they deserve it. but you know it's going to be typical Heck-style mayhem. lol.
I TOTALLY agree with you! This show is phenomenal. The humor is great and it's not focused all around sex. Sue heck is one of the greatest characters I've ever discovered lol. I wish there were more shows out there like this one. It's a shame everything needs to be about sex to be considered good.

So interesting seeing how they direct in a hectic place. Loved the episode of modern family at DL, and spotting castmembers blocking the 'real' guests from entering the filming area. I'm excited for this episode to air in England :)
