  • We take a look at the AOLITHIUM 51.2v 100ah Server Rack Lithium LiFePO4 Battery.
    These were a great deal around black friday and we picked up a few to add to our system. So far we've had no issues with these batteries and they work great. For the price they are unbeatable. But only the sale price. Normal retail price is a different story. One change they need is the battery terminals.
    Rackmount Design: Supports parallel expansion, high energy density battery products with the same energy supply in a smaller size.
    LCD Screen: Real-time monitoring of battery voltage, current, temperature and SOC during charging and discharging.
    Programmable Smart BMS: Individual cell status can be monitored.
    6 Temperature Sensors: Detects cells, environment, power MOS temperature, alerts and protects when charging and discharging at high or low temperature.
    Communications: RS485A/CAN communication interface
    Lifespan: More than 4000 cycles @ 85% DOD, more than 6000 cycles @ 80% DOD.
    Adaptation: Compatible with Pylontech, GoodWe, Deye, Megarevo , Victron inverters.
    Aolithium server rack batteries are the most fully certified batteries on the market. In addition to the required UL listing, we also carry UN38.3/ Class 9/ UN3480/ MSDS certification. This is the best battery safety guarantee.
    Aolithium server rack batteries are compatible with Pylontech, GoodWe, Deye, Megarevo , Victron and 20 other inverters. For parallel communication operation of multiple server rack batteries, dial-up address configuration is required. Our server rack batteries meet address 16, address 32, address 48.
    Charging Temperature 32°F to 131°F
    Discharging Temperature -4°F to 140°F
    Storage Temperature: 14°F to 86°F
    Single Cell Over-Voltage Protection
    Single Cell Under-Voltage Protection
    Battery Over-Voltage Protection
    Battery Under-Voltage Protection
    Charging & Discharge Over-Current Protection
    Output Short Circuit Protection

    Great review! You really did get it at the best price! Even though the cables and racks now need to be purchased separately, I still hear that Aolithium's batteries are about to go up in price again in April. The batteries I purchased in March 2023 are still working great.

    I have two. They came super unbalanced and took three weeks of slowly dialing up the voltage to properly top balance due to the silly slow passive balance current. That said they have performed beautifully once balanced. I just took them offline to check and rebalance, looks like this will take a couple days again.

    The terminals look like the Amphenol style push-on connectors used on Ruixu Batteries.

    Still working well as pairs to a busbar?

    Any success in getting these to communicate with eg4 batteries?

    The long wire that has two batteries on it couldn’t you get better balancing with using the positive on one battery and the negative on the other? And run those to the victron

      @tgbatg  Před 5 měsíci

      Yes that should help with balancing

    I was wondering how well communicating and non communicating banks would work together. What happens when one of the AO batteries depletes itself fully? Does the BMS just limit that batteries workload until its charged back up? Thats a great price to add a ton of capacity to a system. Thanks.

    Nice battery, but the deal breaker for me would be the battery connection terminals, give me bolt on cables any day !!!

      Agreed, but at this price I’m willing to still use them.. for now at least

    competition is good for us consumers, the EG4 indoor wallmount has recently become the better deal.... includes internal heaters ....shop around!

    Do these have a pre-charge resistor in them? If so, is the proper startup going to the breaker and then the power button? Thanks!

      I think so, page 13 of the manual shows the schematic of the BMS and it includes a "Precharge Module".

    So where can I order samples for testing of this AOLITHIUM 51.2v 100ah Server Rack Lithium LiFePO4 Battery for less than $1,000?

      Not as good of a deal as it was over black frlday... but still very close....

    The battery will support RS485 communications with the Voltronic (6500EX) but AOLithium told me the BMS can only communicate with the first (Master) battery in RS485 mode. Only the CAN communications protocol supports the Master and Slave communications. Make sure you have the correct pin wiring in your custom network cable to get it to work and flip DIP switch #1 up.

    • @mmbodnar
      @mmbodnar Před 4 měsíci +1

      oh and AOLithium told me these units are not designed to handle being upright like that.. Not sure why unless the cells were not supported properly?

    • @mmbodnar
      @mmbodnar Před 4 měsíci +1

      I would also suggest the pair that are paralleled is splitting the load between 2 packs so they are more likely to not correctly sense loads under 0.5A per pack?

      Last one.. Thanks for the video!... just a note that the 'lifespan' is estiamted to be 15 years but the warranty was 7-8 years when you bought these and recently the warranty quietly changed to 4 years.. still good value though.

    I have the same batteries however the graphics on the display looks different. I wonder if I need to do a firmware update to these batteries?

    • @tgbatg

      you know i noticed that on some people's batteries the BMS looked different. not sure what the deal was. did you update yours?

    • @MiningChef
      @MiningChef Před 2 měsíci

      No I didn’t I noticed that too I will try and update it

    Great battery, but I would use this with a heavy duty low frequency, transformer based inverter instead of a high frequency, transformerless inverter charger. The low frequency inverter will last far longer and you'll have a much higher peak power (surge) capacity than a low cost high frequency inverter charger.

    They are on sale now for about $1000 which seems crazy, but the connectors / cables still bother me.
