Ball Kicking Mechanism using Custom-made Electromagnetic Solenoid

- This video shows you how to build a ball kicking mechanism using a custom made electromagnetic solenoid. The circuit uses a ZVS capacitor charging module, a 2700uF 450VDC electrolytic capacitor, a 12V battery and a switch besides the solenoid itself. That's all. No diodes, no ceramic resistors, no nothing. To construct the solenoid, you need to get the magnet wire to build the coil, a piece of PVC pipe and a custom made plunger. You can ask your mechanical engineering friend to make you the plunger.

If you want to activate the kicker using wireless RF remote relay module, then use this circuit: goo.gl/CFRWC2. It is combined with a micro switch for local activation feature and the best part is, both of the relay and switch are working together to cut the supply from ZVS capacitor charging module to prevent back current when either one is pressed/triggered. When both are idle, they will make sure the loop to the capacitor is always established to ensure the solenoid activation is always ready.

how much is Newton force giving by the solenoid rod?
Can you please tell what wire gage you used (AWG) for solenoid and how many feet? Also, can you please share the spool length and diameter? Thanks.

Legaria 79 To increase the power, you need to do either:
1. Increase the number of coil winding
2. Use thicker magnet wire
3. Use as highest voltage as possible
If you can do all of the above, the result would be astonishing.

Hi, the normal plunger diameter that I always see is half an inch, the same diameter for most of home PVC pipes.
Mas. Apa aja sih bahan yg mas pakai untuk membuat tendangan kicker lebih keras? Komponen dan alat"nya kalu bisa Mas. Soalnya saya pas charging, lama banget dan gak bisa full capacitornya. Dan kadang putus fuse di DC Booster nya

soalnya saya liat di rangkaian capacitor charger nya input max 5A
+ilfan brt Ya bisa aja. Mengikut pengalaman yang saya lalui, tidak ada apa2 masalah menggunakan bateri SLA 12V 7Ah pun. Kerana 7Ah tu adalah capacity bateri itu, dan ia akan supply arus mengikut demand semasa dari capacitor charger itu, bukannya semestinya dia supply 7A sepanjang masa.

Do you have it's discharging circuit bro??
You can discharge it by shorting a 1 ohm (big white resistor) across the capacitor's terminals, or shorting a coil of solenoid (remove the plunger to avoid kicking mechanism) across the capacitor's terminals.

itu bener selenoid 12v, tapi kita memakai 400v ?
Oky putra pamungkas Ya benar. Walaupun voltan tidak sama tetapi ia tidak akan merosakkan solenoid tersebut.
