Maybe if cutting moves were powered up from an ability you'd see it more on other Pokémon but it doesn't even have any super-effectiveness so even then I'd say no one is using it except... normal types but still rarely

Bug types were really weak in Gen 1 (the only bug type Pokémon that knew an offensive bug type move was Beedrill, who was also Poison so still weak to psychic!) If Scyther knew fly in Gen 1 I think it would’ve made a difference; not so much competitively but certainly as a consideration in your team for 1 player.
Wooper is the fist that’s why he can learn it. It actually helped me a lot in Pokémon crystal when I only had quagsire left and I ice punched his entire team OHKOing every Pokémon

I think why most birds can learn heat wave is something to do with air pressure and them being able to manipulate gust of winds. Kinda like feeling a very warm or hot breeze during afternoon.

This is a better compilation topic than the stat ones, IMO, you should make more of these. Game freak is notorious for having the stats be stupid and arbitrary, but there's no excuse for some of these bizarre move assignment choices.

Birds getting Heat Wave makes much more sense when you see its Japanese name and see that it’s a move that was assigned Flying at birth and identifies as Fire-type

Primal groudon (version pictured in video) is actually a fire type as well as ground type even though normal groudon is pure ground so the not a fire type logic doesn’t work for this one

In 6th gen they were starting to phase out HM moves, and Cut is kinda useless outside of its use as a field move.
