    from my experiences:
    tap alting is when you basically do the singletap motion while alting
    stream alting is when you basically alt when you streams (applys for like 170bpm+ streams i think)
    and tap stream alting is when you basically stream alting but you raise your finger higher to tap harder for finger control on lower bpm streams

      this actually makes sense since i was experimenting with stream alting yesterday and i wasn't fingerlocking anymore and was actually tapping to the beat and with tap stream it usually works for higher bpm as well and tap alting is just basically like for jumps/alt maps

    • @skkotbtw
      @skkotbtw Před 2 lety +1

      its actually a really good method to alt properly, i recommend to learn how to single tap with both of your fingers (in my case i spent a week singletappng with my ring finger) and then do the singletap motion while tapping

    i've been full alternating since day one, so about 5 years now, this is such a perfect explanation. i feel like i've been intuitively aware of this for years, but this was mindblowing to just hear in words. cookiezi did once say something along the lines of "if you tap perfect, aim is like playing relax" when he almost fced image material with a mouse in 2015 or 2016.
    it also gives a reason for why Azer's map of Magic is so fucking hard, you can't get comfortable in any kind of alternating style, but you need to basically need to have all senses of alternating mastered to fc it.

    this explains alternating really well I think more players should learn the difference the 2 alting styles
    i was only able to alt jumps properly because of tap alting, back when i was 80k or so i always had a hard time alting cuz i
    alted same way as a streamed.

    Tap alting for jumps, stream alting for streams, tap-stream alting for something like 1/3 patterns or slower streams for better control. Easier to see it this way imo

    I saw this video title in the morning and didn't have time to watch, pondered about aim and tapping while at work, and then got something completely different out of it. I realized my playstyle up to now has been "aim at the circles and then click them" instead of "tap to the rhythm and also aim at the circles". It'll take some adjusting but it's already improved my acc on a few maps, made me less overwhelmed seeing a lot of quick objects, and helped with hitting patterns that throw bursts, sliders, and pauses together.
    More important, it lets me pay more attention to the music and that's what I like about the game.
    So thanks for the video title?

    I’m full alt, didn’t know the name for this and always called it “snap-alt” and “flow-alt” because it usually matches your aim type. When you need snap aim, you raise your fingers and control each key to alt. When you flow, you’re just tapping like a metronome.

    damn this rly helped me understand my biggest weakness.
    I never rly figured out how to tap notes on alt maps at 140-150 bpm range until now.

  • @your_average_cultured_dude

    ring-index full alt player here, I can't use my wrist at all for tapping. I always keep my elbow on my desk and my wrist a bit raised, and do tap-stream alt so my entire forearm goes up and down with each tap (and the faster the jumps are the harder I press the keys, resulting in more forearm jumping. On slow/normal jumps it's barely noticeable, but I can see it very clearly on fast jumps).
    I think a simpler way to describe it is: my wrist is bad at pivoting, so I use my elbow as a pivot instead.

    I was going to make a video on this but I have no clout...this "focusing on tapping/finger control and let the aim come naturally" method that cookiezi has expressed in his interview has helped me immensely, and I have been playing since 2014 and its allowed me to get scores I did not know I was ever capable of.

  • @Gohgo
    @Gohgo Před 2 lety +1

    I'm sitting here trying to tap alt while watching the video and I can't do it for more than like 4 or 5 taps without getting tired wtf
    I full alt and my alt technique is only stream alt, which makes sense because I'm a stream 1trick and I've adapted to that playstyle a lot better than to other ones.
    I have to figure out how to properly tap alt so I can play more aim heavy maps, because my aim is one of my worst skillsets, and I have yet to try to modify my tapping technique to try to accommodate for it. Nice video

      I can currently accurately tap alt up to 200 bpm streams so it is viable until maybe 210 - 230 if you are really good/fast at it. The problem lies mainly in stamina, no shot you can do this for an extended amount of time, stamina drain is huge.
