watching this for end of year 12 mocks next week... i am terrified. i used to find english gcse sooo simple but a level english lit has been hell for me. i can't seem to get higher than a band 3 and making my ideas more complex is difficult af to achieve

can I just say: YOUR HAIR LOOKS SO PRETTY! I had my first English Lit lesson today, and it already seems so hard! I got a 9 at gcse, but everyone in my class seems so much smarter - like they know exactly what they’re doing. aH it’s going to be so hard

Trust me when I tell you they don’t either! I’m in year 13 and English was definitely the biggest learning curve (and I do maths so that’s really saying something). It will ‘click’ at some point, don’t be alarmed if you feel really lost because it is such a different subject to GCSE! Good luck x

I'm on OCR which is the English exam board from hell honestly (as in, I got 26/30 and 13/15 and it was a B...), I've been on a C since the start of year 12 and I'm year 13 now. My teachers are almost useless so I know I'm gonna be doing this year pretty much independently which is hard bc we're almost 2 months behind due to the lockdown- i got barely any contact during the time off.
Hoping for an A! these tips sound super useful- thank you!

@@isabellaferre3980 i ended up getting 14/15 on section A and 15/15 on section B- my biggest tip would be to learn the AOs and only write stuff that is relevant to them, so only do language/structure etc for section A bc it’s AO2, and only reference critical perspectives in section B because it’s AO5!! for section B, compare critics by which era (eg romantic vs feminist) to see how perspectives change through time :)) good luck!!

Hi, thank you so much for the video! Since you did A-Level literature I have a question for you. I'm studying it but there are many books. Since there aren't compulsary questions on the exam but we must answer questions on each section, can I study two books for each section of each paper and not all of them? (I have approximately six months to prepare it) Advices well accepted. Thank you again🌻

My teachers are rubbish and i have no idea what one off the books about when we should have finished it ages ago. Do you think i would be able to turn it around if i put in the work? everytime i ask teachers it’s like they don’t care and are focussing on students who will get into cambridge/oxford.

Deffo work as hard as you can but you've been really screwed over by corona and the education system so don't stress yourself out, it's not your fault!! shame your teachers aren't helpful, good teachers make all the difference
