Last Body Panel Welded onto my Project 240sx + Restoration Recap

- After almost a year and a half, the quarter panel on my 240sx S13 project car is finally installed! Making it the last body piece to the major puzzle on this restoration project.
I spent the last 7 years building this 1990 Nissan 240sx from the ground up by myself. I swapped out the KA24e for a KA24de. Then once more for a RB25det out of a R34 Skyline and couldn't be happier. I have also converted the 240 to right hand drive, (which ended up saving my life!) After installing a few drift parts; such as a hydro E - Brake, and dual rear calipers, welded diff, solid suspension bushings and more, the car handled amazing. Surprisingly this S13 was able to drift and stay sideways perfectly despite the damage that was done to it.

Another awesome channel is Kalvin Malli if you didn't know about him. He bought an R32 GTR and found out it was rusted out badly. He's literally been rebuilding the WHOLE car from a bare frame and making/rolling his own sheet metal. It's truly gonna be the best R32 build on YT IMO!

I remember finding your channel out of nowhere back when you first decided to try to fix the 240 and I thought this was just going to be some guy hacking apart his car and mailing it in. Mike, I have an unbelievable amount of respect for what you've built. I know you've put so much time and work into this and I can't wait for it to roll again, drift again, and eventually when its painted.... I'll be here. This is amazing and beautiful. Is the glow in the dark sticker available?
Maybe use TRUCK BED primer for wheel wells i believe they make that stuf in USA and its pretty durabale you could also maybe coat the underside of the car with it to make it durabale for the future if you wane keep it (probaly want to i geusse). or maybe try find some ather coating for it.. love the work you do freindly greetings from holland. =) the moment i saw the vid of the T-bone i felt bad i also enjoy serten cars but its nice to see you can acctuly rebuild.

I’m really happy I’m one of the og’s here. This man has been a massive inspiration for me, as far as wanting to restore a 240sx that has been abandoned near me, but unfortunately it’s not there anymore. It’s sad but oh well, we will find something.

I’ve been subscribed and watching your videos for about a year now, I started when I was injured and my girls car needed work and I couldn’t do anything yet and we didn’t have the money for mechanics. I didn’t know too much about cars, but your videos and style of doing them had got me so intrigued by them that I haven’t been able to stop trying to learn all of what I can about cars. I’ve now swapped her tranny, calipers, brake lines, abs pump, master cylinder, head unit, seats, alternator, vvt solenoids, thermostat, all suspension components, and I’m doing her spark plugs next week. Then I’m going to start repairing my work truck before buying a project. I just want to say thanks for the entertaining and informative content, its sparked a new passion. It’s awesome to see your channel grow and almost reach a 100k subscribers. I can’t wait see you keep growing and start others projects after the 240 and 300

The recap at the beginning of the video really made me realize how long it's been since you've started rebulding the 240, I remember watching the videos of you pulling the car apart at the frame shop. Glad to have been here, thank you for taking us with you on this journey and never thought it would come together as well as it did. Made me a believer. Epoxy sealer and seam seal. Seam sealer kinda has 2 jobs its does horrible at both, supports the spot welds and reduces vibration while sealing the 2 panels. Try to keep this momentum going and never stop. Need more people like you, inspiring others and being real. Hope you look back at these videos one day and see the same passion we did. 🤘

Awesome!! I'm so glad to see it all came together lining up perfectly. Those last pieces are always what will reveal the fitment flaws. This goes to show that the thought process and patience paid off! 🔥🔥🔥💯
Also, in the industry, we use the tiny self-tapping sheet metal screws to hold the panels in place when we are test fitting. Then when the panel is welded in, you weld the holes from the sheet metal screws up and its perfect.

What I do when testing body panels that need to be welded on is run a few self tappers on to act as welds to hold the panel in place just to be 100% sure it’s where it needs to be before welding. Then after it’s welded I’ll take them out and weld the little holes. Makes it easier to line things up and be able to close doors, trunks, etc. without having bulky clamps in the way!
Isn't it amazing what you can do with time and hard work! That car had no hope but you never gave up. I'm proud of you Mike.

The talent has been amazing to watch, but one other aspect of this build series i enjoyed was how you have so much respect and even emotion when it comes to cars. The way you talked about many of the cars in the junk yards and even the way you touched them showed you truly love cars.

For a car that was basically totalled, it has turned out straighter than most 240s on the road. Those panel gaps are tidy, all things considered.
Hopefully you don't end up driving it around with mismatched panels for too long like Franzys 240 or the Teggy.. I can't wait to see this thing rolling in all one colour.
